Build your car audio system around Dual's XDMA6855 CD receiver — two sets of preamp outputs let you add amps and subs, and an optional iPod® adapter gives you full control over your albums and playlists. Add the optional BTM60 Bluetooth® adapter to make and receive calls over your vehicle's speakers.

The oversized control knob on the XDMA6855 makes system and volume adjustments a snap, and its large, bright display gives you ID tag information for your digital music files at a glance. Press a button and the whole faceplate motors down to accept your disc, while soft blue illumination lights up the control buttons. Tweak the sound to your liking with five preset tone curves, and use the loudness setting to fill out the low frequencies at all volume levels.

You can fill up a CD-R or CD-RW disc with your favorite MP3 and WMA tunes and hit the road without having to haul a stack of CDs. Use Dual's unique 39" "iPlug" cable to mount an input jack for your portable music player in a handy spot. The XDM6855 even comes with a wireless remote so your passengers can get in on the act.

    Features

Auxiliary Input: The Dual XDMA6855 is equipped with rear-mounted, stereo RCA auxiliary input jacks on a 4.5" pigtail. If you aren't using the aux input, it can be turned off in the menu so when you toggle through the sources aux doesn't appear.

iplug: This unit features the iplug, a 39" interface cable with male RCA jacks that connect an iPod, or other auxiliary source, to the receiver's rear auxiliary input. The iplug has a dash-mountable 3.5mm female mini-jack that your portable device plugs into and can be attached using the supplied adhesive or self-tapping screws. The measurements of the iplug housing are:

    • Width: 1.776"
    • Height: 0.794"
    • Depth: 1.997"

CD Playback And Search Functions: The Dual XDMA6855 features a Single Track Repeat Mode, All Tracks Random Mode and a 10 second intro scan of each track on your CD. The unit also provides a high-speed audible track search of your CD-audio disc in forward or reverse. In addition, you can skip to the next or previous tracks.

Skip Protection: An internal buffer provides ESP (electronic skip protection) to virtually eliminate skipping.

MP3/WMA Playback: This unit can play MP3 and WMA files that have been recorded with constant bit rate (MP3: 8-320 kbps/WMA: 32-192 kbps) or variable bit rate compression on CD-Rs and CD-RWs. The disc must be recorded using ISO 9660 level 1 or level 2, Yellow Book MODE 1, or Yellow Book MODE 2 FORM 1. In addition, this unit is compatible with ID3 Tag version 1.x. Discs should be recorded with a maximum of 256 folders and files and 8 folder levels.

MP3/WMA Search Modes: The preset buttons and other buttons on the front panel can be used for entering letters or numbers to assist you in locating specific MP3 or WMA files and folders. The following search functions can be performed by this unit:

    • Direct File Select: search for specific file number
    • Alphanumeric File/Folder Search: search for file or folder names by entering alphanumeric characters
    • File/Folder Navigate: search for all available files within a folder

AM/FM Tuner: The XDMA6855 features an AM/FM tuner with 18 FM and 12 AM station presets. The unit features 3 FM bands and 2 AM bands that can store 6 presets each. In addition to manually tuning your presets, the radio can also automatically store the six strongest stations in the current band you have selected, helpful when traveling. Once your presets are stored you can use the unit's Preset Scan feature to scan through the stored presets in a given band pausing for 5 seconds for each station.

Preset EQ Curves: You can choose from five preset curves: Pop, Jazz, Classic, Beat, and Rock. Any adjustment to the bass or treble settings automatically cancels the current EQ curve.

Bass And Treble: The unit's bass and treble can independently be adjusted from -6 to +6.

Loudness: Activating the Loudness feature will enhance the bass and treble frequencies when listening to music at low volumes.

Source Audio Memory: Individual bass and treble settings are retained in memory for AM, FM, CD, AUX, iPod and Bluetooth modes.

Turn-on Volume: You can preset the unit's turn-on volume; each time the unit is turned on, the volume is reset to the preset level regardless of the volume level when the unit was last turned off.

Display Priority: You can set the unit to a source display or time display priority. When set to source display priority, the radio tuner frequency, CD track/elapsed time, selected MP3/WMA information, or Aux display will be displayed by default. The clock can be accessed temporarily when the Display button is pressed. When the time display priority, the clock is displayed by default, while the source information can be accessed temporarily with the Display button.

12/24 Hour Clock: When the unit's radio tuning interval is set to USA spacing, the clock is displayed in a 12-hour format. If the unit is switched to European frequency spacing, the clock switches to a 24-hour format.

Clock Display Note: Normally, the display illuminates only when the unit is on. You can program it so the clock is displayed when the unit is off. In this case the clock is displayed when the ignition key is turned on.
