Features
Overview: The InGrid Powerline Ethernet Adapter (PA801IG) provides a simple way to utilize the existing AC wiring in your home as a conduit for Ethernet connections throughout every room in the house.
Installation: The first (primary) Power line Ethernet Adapter in your system must be connected directly to your home router. Additional Powerline Ethernet Adapters can be placed anywhere in your home into a AC wall outlet that in on the same power circuit as the on connected to your router.
Setup Button: The InGrid Powerline Ethernet Adapter features a Setup button which secures the PA801IG's network. Powerline Ethernet Adapter networks (similar to home WiFi wireless networks) are vulnerable to unregistered access from the outside if not secured. If the network is not secured, anyone who plugs an adapter into a wall outlet that shares the same AC power line as your system (which is a very common condition in apartment units) can instantly gain access to your home network.
Note: Although it is not necessary for the InGrid Powerline Ethernet Adapter network to be secured to facilitate communication between your router and connected devices, it is highly recommended.
LED Indicators: The InGrid Powerline Ethernet Adapter features the following LED indicators.
- Power: Indicates that the device is receiving power from the AC outlet.
- Link: Blink in correlation with communication activity with other Powerline Ethernet Adapters.
- Ethernet: Blinks to show Ethernet data activity.
