About the Polk/MOMO MMC690
Polk Audio engineers the MMC Series speakers for championship performance — legendary Italian design firm MOMO makes them look great. These upper-echelon coaxial speakers deliver component speaker sound quality in an easy-to-install, stylish package.
The Polk/MOMO MMC690 6"x9" 3-way speaker features a lacquered carbon-fiber woofer that provides the ideal balance of low weight and high rigidity. The woofer's Kapton voice coil former and flat Nomex spider contribute to high power handling capability. An airtight rubber surround stands up to humidity and heat for long-term reliability. The smooth-sounding 1-1/4" silk/polymer dome tweeter and 3/4" silk supertweeter combine for highly detailed imaging.
The vented cast-aluminum basket provides a totally non-resonant platform, so speaker output is uncolored. A high-quality outboard 2-way crossover ensures that each driver sees only the frequencies it was designed to reproduce. Dual nickel-plated terminals are provided for amplifying the woofer and tweeters separately.
The speaker's low-profile and shallow depth allow easy installation in most vehicles. And you don't have to limit these speakers to your car — they've passed tough environmental testing that certifies them for marine use as well. Rugged ABS grilles designed by MOMO are included.

Lacquered Carbon-fiber Woofers: The lacquered carbon-fiber cones provide the ideal balance of stiffness and low mass for the clearest, most detailed midrange performance, and lowest distortion, of any speaker in its class.
Rubber Surrounds: The airtight rubber surrounds stand up to moisture, sunlight and extreme temperatures while allowing long excursion linear motion and years of reliable use.

ABS Magnet Boots: Each speaker features a waterproof, anti-resonant ABS magnet boot, which is removable for installation flexibility. With the magnet boots installed, each speaker has the following dimensions:

Crossovers: The 2-way crossovers have big components for better dynamic impact and transparency. Each crossover has the following dimensions: L=4.721", W=2.458", H=1.033".
Crossover Connections: Each crossover input lead is terminated with tinned wire, and the two output leads (one for the woofer and one for the tweeter) are terminated with female quick-slides. The positive woofer lead has a 0.250" female quick-slide and the negative woofer lead has a 0.187" female quick-slide. The positive tweeter lead has a 0.187" female quick-slide and the negative tweeter lead has a 0.110" female quick-slide. These quick-slides connect directly to the woofer and tweeter terminals on each speaker.
ABS Magnet Boots: Each speaker comes with an ABS magnet boot installed, however, the Crutchfield database measurements were taken with the magnet boots removed. With the magnet boots installed, each speaker has the following dimensions:

These speaker are of the highest quality. Clear highs and great midrange. I heard these would not run good off of a head unit's power, BUT I am running them off my head unit's 22x4 rms and they sound amazing. I have heard many high end speakers and for sound quality polk is the best hands down.
