Polk's db Series db5250 component system uses 5-1/4" Dynamic Balance polymer/mica woofers to produce full, rich lows that are free of detail-robbing distortion. The liquid-cooled silk/polymer composite tweeters can be mounted in either flush- or surface-mount cups to project detailed highs where you want to hear them. Installation Details
To install this product, you’ll have to modify your vehicle.Component speaker systems consist of separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers. You'll install the woofers in your factory speaker openings, so we check those for fit in your car. You'll have to custom-mount the tweeters and crossovers, which usually requires drilling and running new wires.
A speaker enclosure is required for this installation and it is available from Crutchfield.
Cut plastic, vinyl, wood, or pressboard.
A wiring harness is not needed.
Cut the cardboard/vinyl panel and the steel substructure. Drill new mounting holes.
A wiring harness is not available. Cut off the factory connectors and splice the vehicle's speaker wires to your new speaker wires.
You'll have to make extensive modifications to your vehicle to install new speakers. These modifications, which may include cutting and/or fabrication, will not be covered in any installation instructions you'll be receiving.
