Connect your Klipsch powered subwoofer to your sound system wirelessly

Put your Klipsch subwoofer anywhere you want with the WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit. This simple, two-piece plug-and-play kit adds wireless audio capability to select Klipsch subwoofers in seconds. Plug your sub into a nearby wall outlet, connect the small wireless receiver to the proprietary "WA Port" on the back of the sub, connect the transmitter to your receiver and power, and you're done. The transmitter sends wireless audio signals from your receiver to the sub, so you won't have to worry about running interconnect cables across your floor.

Features

Wireless Subwoofer Kit: The Klipsch WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit is designed to add simplistic wireless capability to select powered subwoofers. The Klipsch WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit consists of two components; a wireless Transmitter & wireless Receiver. The WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit makes adding a powered subwoofer to a new or existing speaker system much easier, because it replaces the need for a separate subwoofer cable that traditionally must be connected between the receiver and the powered sub. Now, you can easily place your powered subwoofer where it both sounds and looks best in the room since you're not restricted by an audio cable.

Compatibility: The Klipsch WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit  is compatible with select Klipsch, Energy, Mirage, and Jamo brand powered subwoofers that have a "WA-Port" on the rear-panel. Compatible subwoofer includes (as of 7/24/2012):

  • Klipsch: SPL-100, SPL-120, SW-110, SW-112, SW-115, SW-308, SW-310, & SW-311
  • Energy: ESW-M6 & ESW-M8
  • Mirage: MM-6, MM8
  • Jamo: Sub 800, C 910 SUB, C 912, SUB

Note: Up to four WA-2's can be used simultaneously.

Wireless 2.4GHZ Communication: The Klipsch WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit (WA-2) operates wirelessly over the 2.4GHz frequency range with a wireless transmission range of up to 50'. Because of its advanced automatic channel selection technology, the WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit does not interfere with, nor has interference from any other wireless systems in your home (such as your wireless network or wireless phone system).

Automatic Pairing: The two-piece kit, composed of a transmitter and a receiver, conducts a simple automatic pairing process that syncs the transmitter and receiver the first time they are used; after that, your compatible powered sub is automatically activated when ready for use.

Two-Piece Kit: The Klipsch WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit consists of two components; a wireless Transmitter & wireless Receiver.

  • Wireless Transmitter: The wireless Transmitter is fitted with stereo RCA jacks that connect to your home theater receiver's LFE/subwoofer output port (via the included 15" audio cable; Y-adapter maybe required). You will also need to connect the Transmitter's external power supply to an AC wall outlet for power.
  • Wireless Receiver: The wireless Receiver features a proprietary 4-pin connector which plugs into the "WA-port" of your compatible powered subwoofer. There are two keyhole slots on the wireless Receiver which allows you to mount the unit to the back of your powered sub. The proprietary 4-pin "WA-port" connector provides audio signal to your powered sub and power for the wireless Receiver.

Gain Control: The transmitter's input gain control compensates for varying output levels of different home theater receivers, allowing maximum performance with any system.

Q
Does this work with a Sonos arc sound bar?
david  Feb 11, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings David. Thank you for your question. This wireless kit is specific for certain Klipsch and Jamo subwoofers. It also needs a receiver, or bar that has a wired subwoofer output. Unfortunately the Sonos Arc does not have the wired subwoofer output. To use a subwoofer with the Arc, you would need to use the Sonos sub.

Q
Will this work with my R-121SW?
brian  Nov 29, 2023

A
Greetings Brian. Thank you for your question. This Klipsch WA-2 wireless kit is not compatible with your R121SW. You can however use a third party universal wireless kit. We have had great success with the SVS Soundpath. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_946SNDPATH/SVS-SoundPath.html

Will this work with my Klipsch R-120SW? Thank you!
stinky  Oct 14, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Bill. Thank you for checking. It is not. It is proprietary for a select few Klipsch subwoofers, just not the R-12SW. You can use a more universal wireless kit however. We have had great success with this one by SVS. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_946SNDPATH/SVS-SoundPath.html

This would not be compatible with a Klipsch center channel. It is only made for use with specific Klipsch subwoofers.

Q
Can 2 klipsch R-112sw be connected to 1 WA-2 wireless kit if the subs are daisy chained ?
ed  May 23, 2022
1 answer
A
It is not possible to connect two powered subwoofers to one of these transmitter systems. There are other ways to run two powered subwoofers in one system. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to get personal recommendation

Q
Can I run 2 Klipsch Wireless subwoofers with one transmitter?
harold  Apr 25, 2020
3 answers
A
Since the WA-2 is sold as a set "transmitter and receiver" and the receiver portion plugs into a dedicated port on the subwoofer, I would think you can only use one subwoofer per WA-2 kit.
patrick  May 07, 2020
A
Unfortunately no. You need one transmitter and receiver per subwoofer. The transmitter and receiver and paired together. Thanks. Jerry
jerry  May 07, 2020
A
No. The wireless "transmitter" hooks up to the receiver and the "receiver" hooks directly into the sub. It's a 1 to 1 deal. It MAY be possible to split the sub output to two and attach a second sub to the newly added output but that's another $150 + splitter. May want to look at a new receiver with 2 sub outputs. I will say I originally purchased two of these for a pair of subs - and they interfered with one another and I got some static. Could have been something I did or didn't do that was wrong - I returned them and just got longer cables for my subs.

Q
My Klipsch SPL120 manual says it's compatible with this however it's not listed here. Can you confirm they do work together?
jean-paul  Sep 23, 2019
1 answer
A
it will. the connection is the same amongst all Klipsch subs. The second unit receives the signal via Bluetooth and transmits to your receiver via composite audio subwoofer cable. I do believe you will need a Y adaptor. (two female to one male)

Is the Klipsch WA-2 wireless adapter compatible with the Klipsch RP Hub1 HD control center?

Yes it is

My WA-2 works wonderfully, with the two units separated by nearly 30 feet and furniture. I do not have the Hub1 as a part of my setup. My Yamaha is master control.

Q
will this work with a klipsch r10sw?
jack  Oct 24, 2016
4 answers
A
No. The subwoofer needs to have a compatible WA input for this to work. The R10Sw does not have that input.
edward  Oct 25, 2016
A
It should work with any Klipsch sub that has the correct plug. You can look on the back of any of them to see if the connector is present (looks like an s-video connector). It pretty much needs to be line of sight to work well
mark  Oct 24, 2016
A
Does this sub have the Proprietary Wa Port.If not it will not work.

Yes

Q
Will using this device instead of a cable eliminate the ground loop hum I'm getting now?
aaron  Dec 05, 2015
4 answers
A
I'm not sure as it still uses a cable from the A/V receiver to the transmitter, although it will be shorter. I use two of them with two subs and I replaced the aforementioned cables with really nice shielded ones just to be safe. They are working great and have been for the last 6-8 months.
edward  Dec 12, 2015
A
There is no him, it works great
engilberto javi  Dec 07, 2015

Q
Can you run two subs with this wireless configuration from the same receiver without signal confusion?
robert  May 18, 2015
3 answers
A
I think you can, but you need two sets of WA 2. Need to split the subwoofer out and connect each Sender to it . It will be simpler if you have a 5.2 receiver ( 2 sub pre-out) the receiver of the wa-2 can't be split. I had two wireless Sub transmitter before of different brand . There is an interference on the signal if I put the units receiver too close, so I would recommend to some distance between the two receiver . I'm not sure if this is the case with the wa-2 . Just letting you know my experience. By the way there is a signal Booster in the Sender which may help if you split the sub pre-out from the your receiver , in case there is a signal loss. I have no problem at all with my set of WA-2. I hope this help.
alfredo  May 18, 2015

Hi, the answer to your question, I don't have the ans. Cus' I never tried it, I can only assume that will not work cus' the transmitter and receiver should match , putting another receiver to the other sub might result to a distortion on the output, hope this answer your question.
art  May 18, 2015
A
Not to the best of my knowledge. There is only one wireless channel available.

I think so. I have mine inside a wood cabinet 15 feet away from the sub.
dan  Aug 04, 2014

I also have my reciever in a closet and the wa-2 works great. I did notice the sub would hum when the crossover was in bypass never researched why. My sub is about 12ft away and around a corner from the closet. I recomend and would purchase again.
ryan  Jul 29, 2014
A
Yes it work but follow the distance that say the instruction
juan r  Jul 29, 2014

Hi Pete, I believe the range is around 50 feet so you shouldn't have any problems with wireless communication between receiver and sub. Even though my gear is placed all together in the same room, I'm extremely happy with the wireless receiver. It was an easy setup and I haven't had any problems. Hope this helps you out.
charles l  Jul 29, 2014
A
hi pete. yes my receiver is in a closet and the sub is out in the room and it works great. hope that helps. steve h.
steven  Jul 29, 2014
A
I know it works across the room and from hanging off the back of the entertainment center but I have not tried it through walls. The entertainment center is about 3 ft. deep with lots of stuff inside between the transmitter and the receiver (WA-2). Since you mentioned this I might try it to see.
robert  Jul 29, 2014
A
Pete - I have the transmitter located in a stereo closest with closed door connected to the sub about 25 feet away. No problems with wireless. Have never dropped and had to repair. Mark
mark g  Jul 28, 2014

This may help. I have two subwoofer for my stero which are tower speakers by Paradigm, one klipsch RW 12- 11 with W A transmitter the other with Rocetfish. I have to stand across this transmitters to play my music from my SMARTPHOE to the USB PORT located in front of my receiver . I noticed that the signal connection from the Rocetfish will stop if I stand in front for about 60 sec. or so ( blinking red ) This never happened with the WA- 2 I'm not sure if you need a little opening from your closet or not.
alfredo  Jul 28, 2014
A
My unit isn't in a different room or closet, but the sub woofer is in the back of the room behind all of our furniture and seems to work without any issues. I think it may be fine, but maybe check Crutchfield return policy in case it doesn't work.
brian  Jul 28, 2014
A
Mine is working great with sub about 30' away from receiver. The receiver is in an enclosed cabinet set into an alcove with a wall on three sides.
