About the Q-Forms Kick Panel Enclosures

Jo Greene
Many award-winning sound-off competitors put their mid-woofers and tweeters in custom-built kick panel enclosures to get concert-quality stereo imaging. But why pay hundreds of dollars to an installer when you can do it yourself? Just mount your 6-1/2" component system in Q-Logic's Q-Forms kick panel enclosures, and your car speakers will deliver competition-quality imaging without the expensive price tag.

Q-Forms enclosures hold your speakers in an ideal position, angling them to maximize sound quality. Since the Q-Forms are located near your feet, the distance from your ears to each speaker becomes closer to equal, creating a superior soundstage. The driver's seat becomes the "sweet spot" for great stereo sound. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: Grilles not included. The Q-Forms do not come with pre-cut holes, so you must cut holes in order to install your component speakers in the enclosures. Please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this model is compatible with your vehicle.

Installation Note for 1999-07 General Motors full-size pickups and SUVs: The parking brake must be bent 1-1/2" to the right.

Features

Product Overview: Q-Logic C-Series Q-Form custom kick panels are designed to hold a 2-way component speaker system consisting of a woofer up to 6-1/2" and a tweeter (up to 2" diameter). They are fabricated of durable ABS plastic, color matched to the factory interior colors, and replace the factory kick panels. The positioning and angle of the speakers provide optimum stereo imaging and staging.

No Grilles: Because no grilles are included with the Q-Forms, you must use the grilles supplied with the component system. In some cases, the grille could slightly overlap the mounting surface for the woofer. In this case the cutout can be made so any overlap occurs at the back bottom edge where it will not be visible.

Note: One of the included installation guides states that two Q-grilles are included, but that is not the case.

Compatibility: These Q-Forms are designed to fit select 1999-2007 GM Full-sized trucks. They match the factory Ruby Red interior trim.

Note: Please enter your vehicle information to verify compatibility.

Installation Notes

Installation Overview: You will need to cut out the mounting holes in the designated areas of the plastic Q-Form. A roll of foam tape is provided for sealing the woofer in the kick panel. The tweeter can be flush or surface mounted. Giving exact mounting depths is not possible, since it will depend to some extent on the space available behind the factory kick panel. (Q-Logic advertises 4" minimum.)

Greetings Sugar-low, and thank you for your question. Unfortunately Q-Customs does not make a set of kick panel enclosures for the Cadillac DTS.

Sorry, I can not be of much help at this time. Other problems popped up before installation.

i actually have 6 3/4 with a 1"tweeter.i would say you could maybe go up 1 1/2 on the tweeter.
joey  Jan 19, 2016
A
You have to cut the tweeter hole. It looks like there is at least 2" to work with. It fit my focal fx165 just fine. You would want to use the flush mount option for the tweeter. You do need to cut these panels to install the speakers.
thomas  Jan 19, 2016
A
Any size you want you have to cut out the tweeter size your self, I used a hole size and have some Polk audio over sized tweeters so I believe any size will fit
rafael  Jan 18, 2016
Q
is it possible to fit a subwoofer in the larger hole? for on a 2004 chevy silverado 1500 extended cab, im hoping to fit an 8inch in it

Yes

The Q-Forms come with no holes cut in them. You will have to cut your own with a jig saw or rotary type of tool. I don't believe that there is enough surface area for an eight inch (7 1/2) inch opening. I installed 6 3/4" speakers in mine. I am looking into modifying them with a speaker ring and fiberglass to install an 8" for more bass upfront.
delondo  Aug 09, 2016
A
It would be a tight fit if at all possible. A 6.5 inch speaker pretty much fills it. Depth was a tight fit also.
thomas  Aug 07, 2016
A
Won't fit, the 6.5 speaker barley fit
rafael  Aug 07, 2016
A
No, it's not deep enough, or enough airspace for a sub to properly function, nor is the back side sealed
james  Aug 07, 2016
A
No I'm running 5 1/4 in mine and they barley fit, I'm thinking the max size it's 6 1/2 definitely won't fit an 8
katarina  Aug 07, 2016
A
You should be able to get that to fit. Maybe a little adjustment. Mine is a 2000 Silverado. No modification needed. Just remember, if these are in addition to the existing speakers, you will need an Amp to push them.
charles  Aug 07, 2016
Q
Does this come with the right and the left kick panel?
bradley shea  Aug 30, 2014

A
Yes it does. They are nice and fit pretty well. The left one does get in the way of the emergency brake a little.but does not prevent it from working. I also kick the drivers side with me foot quit a bit. I actually use it as a foot rest a lot.

Unless they have a option for your vehicle then no. These are vehicle specific. You could always make custom kick pods

My 99 Silverado has kickers in every speaker hole possible and I put a set of tweeters in the very outside of the a/c vents and they sound great..... I have one 10" kicker comp sub with an 800 watt amp pushing it amd so far so good...... ( they have only been installed for about a month)

Q
do I have to install a tweeters ? I have a tweeters in the door panels front and rear 03 Silverado ext cab

A
You do not have to. The kick panels comes with no holes cut into it so you can use it with a tweeter. Try to find something you can use to cut circle out for what ever speaker your using with it. Cut slower sonthe plastic doesn't melt where you cut it. It can get messy if it heats up.
jacob  Jan 04, 2019
A
No. They come uncut for speakers so you'll be fine.
jeffrey  Jan 04, 2019
A
I brought $140 Focals for the kicks from you guys crossovers built in the speakers
marlon j  Jan 04, 2019
A
Hello. You wouldn't have to mount separate tweeters but since there is a spot already molded in the kick panels for them I think it would look blank and unfinished if you didn't and also component speakers sound so good I don't know why you wouldn't want to install tweeters into the kick panels.
john  Jan 04, 2019
A
No you don't. I don't have tweeters installed in mine in this vehicle. It's only if you want to
brian  Jan 04, 2019

Q
Is there any way I could be sent a pic of this red one to see how well it matches my color??
cory  Jan 13, 2014
1 answer
A
Unfornately, I don't have a picture of the Ruby Red color. You may be able to find a picture of this on Q-Logic website: http://www.qlogicenclosures.com/q-products/q-forms/ I can tell you that these enclosures are designed to be factory matched in color. The Ruby Red color should match directly with the red plastic in the vehicle.
