For that special fit

It's the little things that can make a big difference when you're comparing speaker systems. Check out the features that distinguish these Kenwood plate speakers from the rest of the 6"x8" pack.

Each KFC-P680C speaker features a 6" woofer and 3/4" swivel tweeter with a high- and low-pass crossover network, all mounted onto a single 6"x8" plate. The stiff mica-injected polypropylene woofer delivers bass with a high degree of accuracy, while a durable butyl rubber surround controls cone excursion for smooth response.

Kenwood builds the soft dome tweeter from a lightweight yet stable material that radiates crystal-clear highs without harshness. The crossover network blends tweeter and woofer together seamlessly to eliminate "dead" or "hot" spots in your music.

Kenwood designs the KFC-P680C to fit perfectly in many Fords, Mazdas, and other vehicles with 6"x8" openings. Enjoy the superior sound of component speakers from these easy-to-install Kenwoods.

Q
Should I use baffles with these speakers? I have a 2004 mercury mouantneer. I am of course wanting to get the most out of them as well as protect them from the elements.

No. I purchased baffles for my 2010 f 150 and they rattle and sound horrible. I removed them shortly after.

If you are talking about those aftermarket foam surrounds, I tried them and Ireally noticed no improvement in sound qualit, and the doors on my 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis seem to be tightly sealed. When taking the doors apart to install the speakers, I noticed no evidence of water or condensation inside the doors, and at the t ime this was a 12 year old car. If I had it to do over, I would save my money.

Use them. Not only will they protect them they also make them sound better.

I was asked to answer this question but I do not know. I ordered them for my 2003 Thunderbird. The speakers fit but unfortunately the stock radio only sent the high end frequencies and as a result they did not sound good in the Thunderbird. I hooked up the speakers to my dodge and they sounded great. So the fault is not with the speaker but the stock radio. As far as a baffle you would be better to put them in to protect them in my opinion.
