About the Metra 70-7304 Receiver Wiring Harness

Metra 70-7304 Receiver Wiring Harness

This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

Metra 70-7304 Receiver Wiring Harness

This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield-supplied harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you're not using a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors to secure the connections. Check out our handy article on three ways to connect the wiring harness here.

Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness saves installation time since you won't have to cut factory wires individually, and this also enables you to re-install the factory radio if needed. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 1 year.

Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate navigation or video connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.

I've looked through all the information we have and all the information about it on Metra's site only to discover the wire gauge isn't listed. You might try calling Metra on 386-257-1187 for confirmation on the wire gauge

No

A
No it doesn't
victor  Apr 13, 2019
A
No, it doesn't. That harness only connects power and speakers. Aux and Usb ports is a feature of the aftermarket radio and it has nothing to do with this harness.

Does the Metra 70-7304 include connection to the factory backup camera? I'll be using this with a Pioneer AVH-X3800BHS in a 2017 Sonata Sport non-turbo; the fitment checker shows this is the correct harness. Thanks!

One customer wrote ,"the black wire that was labeled to the steering wheel harness was in the wrong spot. I had to jump to negative to get it to work." What does he mean by this? Did any one else loose their steering wheel controls?
gilbert  Jul 29, 2014

A
The instructions from Crutchfield said the ability is retained in my 2017 Hyundai Tucson but it is not working at all.
angel  Jul 06, 2018
A
Yes you Wil lose them. You need to purchasE an adapter that will interface to use the string wheel controls.
benjamin  Jul 30, 2014

I had the harness professionally installed. After the install, only the volume and radio station/cd track controls functioned. This condition left me with two options: do nothing and let the frustrations build or convert back to stock. I chose the latter.
james  Jul 30, 2014
A
I paid a local big box store to put the unit in. Did not see how it was wired.
robert v  Jul 29, 2014

The ability to retain steering wheel controls with aftermarket receiver harnesses will be determined by the receiver you are using and the vehicle you have. For full information on this type of integration (including the parts you will need) please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
