USB and auxiliary inputs

If you get most of your music from sources other than CDs, the AXD130 features front-panel USB and auxiliary inputs. You can enjoy music by using the USB input for a thumb drive (sorry, not iPod/iPhone compatible), or by plugging your satellite radio, smartphone, or any other audio devices into the aux input.

This receiver also offers a 3-band equalizer for adjusting the tone to match your taste, while a set of preamp outputs lets you add a powered sub to fill out your sound. Axxera includes a remote control so your back seat passengers can change songs without harrassing the driver.

    Disc/USB Playback

CD Compatibility: The Axxera AXD130 head unit supports CD-Audio, CD-Text, CD-R, and CD-RW disc playback. The head unit supports playback of MP3/WMA music files recorded onto CD-R and CD-RW discs.

USB Port: The Axxera AXD130 is equipped with front-panel USB (type-A) which enables connection of a portable USB mass-storage class (MSC) device; such as your Android smartphone (older Gingerbread/Froyo OS only), portable digital audio player, or USB thumbdrive. The head unit supports playback of MP3/WMA  music files stored on a compatible USB mass storage device. The unit's USB port will also charge (max. 0.5A) your USB devices during connection.

Note: The unit's USB port is not compatible with iPod/iPhone/iPad or newer Android devices.

Playback Features: The AXD130 offers playback features such as Repeat, Random and Intro scan.

    • Repeat: You can repeat a single track, a specific folder, or an entire disc.
    • Random: You can shuffle the playback order of all your songs or only the songs in a specific folder.
    • Intro Scan: You can scan the first 10 seconds of each track or the first 10 seconds of each track in a folder.

File/Folder Search: This search function allows navigation through compressed music files' folders to find a specific file or for playback.

Off Insert/Eject: A CD disc can be inserted or ejected with the power off. When a disc is inserted with the power off, the unit will automatically power up and begin playback.

Auto-Reload: If a disc is ejected and not removed within 10 seconds, the unit will reload the disc.

    Radio & Aux Functions

AM/FM Tuner: The Axxera AXD130 features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, and preset tuning. You can store up to 18 FM station presets and 12 AM station presets.

Auxiliary Input: The AXD130 is fitted with a front-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting an external portable audio device with a headphone output.

    Audio Section

MOSFET Amplifier: The Axxera AXD130 is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the AXD130 are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the AXD130 are as follows:

    • CEA2006 Specs: 18 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 60 watts x 4 channels (240 watts total)

Switchable Preamp Outputs: The Axxera AXD130 is equipped with a set of 2-Volt preamp outputs (R/Sub). The R/Sub preamp output can be switched between a rear-channel full-range output or a non-fading subwoofer preamp output.

Subwoofer Control: When the subwoofer preamp output is activated, you can adjust the output level (0-12) of the sub preamp output. You can also set the low-pass crossover to 80, 120, 160Hz, or Through (full-range).

Equalizer: The Axxera CD Receiver features the following preset EQ curves (Flat, Pop, Jazz, Classic, Beat, Rock, or User) to customize your music listening.  The User mode activates a 3-Band EQ which lets you adjust Bass, Midrange, and Treble manually from -6 to +6. EQ settings are stored for each source.

Loudness: The Loudness function enhances the bass & treble frequencies at low volumes.

Source Volume Level: The Source Volume Level control allows a gain adjustment for each audio source (Tuner, CD, Aux and USB). You can set the source volume level (+/-6dB) for each mode, depending on the relative volume of each audio source.

    Display Features

Detachable Fold-Down Face: The Axxera AXD130 features a manual fold-down face-plate. The head unit's face-plate is detachable to deter theft. A hard-plastic face-case is provided. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can also be purchased for this unit.

Note: The head unit needs 1.75" of clearance in front of it for the face-plate to fold down.

Single Line Display: The AXD130 features a a single line, 12-character display with a black background and white text.

    Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: The AXD130 comes supplied with an 18-button IR wireless remote control which provides complete control of the Axxera CD Receiver.

    Q
I have a 2005 Honda CRV and am looking to get a new stereo that has aux and USB ports. This says that it is compatible with my vehicle, but is about half the size of the stereo in the car... So what would it look like installed? How would it work?
    maddie  Feb 18, 2016
    1 answer
    A
With the CRV it looks like the extra room would be taken up by a pocket underneath the radio. When you add the item to your cart, you should get a notice about the kit that is needed for the radio install - with information about the kit.

great light at night, not so much during the day. Can be set to show the time but does not show always automatically
    jordan  Jan 09, 2016

No, it doesn't show the time all the time unless you have time mode set, then it doesn't show the track names or song info. the display is very bright blue, you can see the display really well. Is a very good unit. I use a memory stick most of the time, however the radio and cd player are great also.

Does an ipod work in the aux input for this device?

    A
I don't have nor have ever seen an ipod. But I believe it is just a glorified MP3 player. If it can power earphones, it will work with the aux input. I have a Sansa Clip mp3 player that works fine with the aux input. The only caveat is that you will probably need to turn up the volume on the ipod to its max setting to achieve the desired volume on radio.

You got my curiosity up. I just tried it and yes it has to be pointed directly at the receiver.
    richard  Aug 12, 2015
    A
I've never needed to point it accurately or maybe the car is just small enough that it doesn't matter. I usually just reach over to the faceplate and skip the remote entirely anyway.

does the USB port also charge your phone, or is it just for playing music?

It can charge a phone but slowly because it's a standard 500mA USB port.

Interesting question I had not considered! I am away from the car for the next three weeks, so can't check this out. Since it works well with a thumb drive, I suspect it has voltage that would charge a phone. I will try to check this out in mid-August.
