About the Bazooka BT1028DVC

Dominic DeVito

A bass cannon

The BT1028DVC Bass Tube features a 10" polypropylene woofer with a twin-layer compressed foam surround for smooth excursion. The dual 8-ohm voice coils promote high power handling, and each voice coil has its own set of input terminals to give you maximum hook-up flexibility. The tube design eliminates standing bass waves for accurate response and high efficiency. Find a good spot for a Bazooka Bass Tube in your vehicle and you'll still enjoy plenty of cargo room.

A bass cannon

Bass makes up about 30% of your music, and it gives music its power and impact. A good subwoofer can make an average car audio system sound good, and a good car audio system sound great. Good bass is all about moving air, and a cylindrical tube translates the motion of its woofer into maximum air pressure so you hear and feel more bass. Bazooka designed the Bass Tube to act like a bass cannon, firing low frequencies throughout your vehicle.

Big bass without losing space

Bass Tubes enclosures fit just about anywhere

A compact Bass Tubes enclosure will fit in almost any vehicle, and you can disconnect it in a snap if you need more cargo space. Since the tube's speaker and port are right next to each other, you can get amazing results by "corner loading" your tube — placing it in a corner of your trunk or cargo area so your vehicle's boundaries act as a natural amplifier, boosting bass production.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The BT1028DVC features a water-resistant poly enclosure that houses a 10" poly woofer with a foam surround. The patented Bass Tube enclosure design eliminates bass standing waves for high accuracy, and superior efficiency.

Dual 8-ohm Voice Coils: This tube features dual 8-ohm voice coils that offer flexibility in wiring. When the voice coils are wired in parallel with each other, the tube presents a 4-ohm mono load. When the voice coils are wired in series with each other, the tube presents an 16-ohm mono load. In addition, each coil may be connected to a different amplifier channel and each channel will see a 8-ohm load. Each coil can handle 250 watts RMS, so the combined power handling is 500 watts RMS.

5-Way Binding Posts: The 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade lugs, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs.

Installation: Each mounting strap has an attached mounting base that can be secured to your vehicle using the supplied self-tapping screws. Once the mounting bases are installed, the tube is held in place by the mounting straps. For best results, the tube should be mounted facing into a corner, and there should be 2" to 4" between the woofer and the corner into which the woofer is pointing.

Q
Why is there 2 positives and negatives for wiring?
michael  Apr 19, 2021
1 answer
A
it has 2 , 8 ohm voice coils. wire the neg together, and the positives together, then wire to amp, and the amp will see a 4 ohm load.

Q
Can i mount this sub firing up instead of laying it down?
tom  Oct 22, 2016
2 answers
A
Possibly; the bass output might be reduced.
tim  Oct 24, 2016

The orientation, (up, down side , etc.) won't make much difference. You may get a small loss of usable excursion due to gravity, bug again, this would be minimal. What IS important with Bazooka tubes is that they be "boundary loaded" ie, placed in close proximity to one or more solid surfaces, typically the corner of a car trunk.

Q
i have a 2 channel amp at 2x500 at 2 ohms could you wire this to work at 2 ohms?
quagga  Sep 29, 2015

A
If you wire the voice coils in parallel, you will only get 4 ohms. This will translate to lower volume coming from the woofer. You could probably compensate for it by turning up the gain on that amp.
justin  Oct 01, 2015
A
I would not recommend that with this unit.
tim  Sep 30, 2015
A
This would only work if you bridge your amp, and wire the voice coils in parallel. This would present a 4 ohm load to your bridged channels, which is equal to a 2 ohm load in stereo. You could also wire in stereo which would send about 125. Watts to each coil which is probably about right for this product

Q
What amp would you recommend to run this with factory stereo?hyundai sonata hybrid hyundai sonata hybrid

A
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
How do I hook up this tube with a mono block amplifier?
boone  May 22, 2015
1 answer
A
Hook up both sets of terminals in parallel by using a jumper (short piece of wire). Red + to red black (-) on black. Wiring both voice coils in parallel like this will present a 4 ohm load for your amp.
