Adam Dowgielewicz's Dodge Shadow

Adam installed the JBL GTO520 5-1/4" speakers in the front doors, and the GTO7520 5"x7" speakers in the rear side panels. The four speakers handle frequencies above 85 Hz, amply powered by the JBL Power Series P80.4 amplifier which is mounted under the front passenger seat. The Shadow's interior was completely insulated with Dynamat ($600 worth!), which keeps the noise level exceptionally low.
Everything below 85 Hz is handled by the subwoofer system. The MTX Thunder 2150X amplifier sends a conservatively-rated 150 watts RMS per channel to the Q-Logic dual-sub bandpass box, which houses two Infinity Kappa 120.1se 12" subwoofers. An MTX External Bass Control (mounted on the console between the front seats) gives Adam fingertip remote control over the volume of the subwoofer amp.
Adam ran 4-gauge StreetWires power cable to his amps, 14-gauge StreetWires speaker wire to the JBL speakers, and Monster 12-gauge speaker wire to the subs. A Lightning Cap 1/2-farad capacitor maintains an even flow of power to the MTX amp. At his last competition, Adam's Shadow won 1st place for Best Installation and for Best Overall Sound, illustrating the kind of performance you can achieve with an intelligently-designed, well-matched system. The Jensen CD615X CD receiver runs the show from the oversized (1-1/2 DIN) opening in the Dodge dash.
With the panel on, you see an innocent-looking door. Take the panel off, and you see JBL's GTO520
The GTO7520 5"x7" speakers and the Q-Logic bandpass box create a wall of sound in the rear of the hatchback.
The MTX Thunder 2150X amplifier (mounted out-of-sight on the back side of the bandpass box) keeps those Infinity Kappa 12" subs busy.

Great job on your Shadow! I want to do something like it on mine. I like the way you separated the trunk with the sub box too. I still have that flip up/removable shelf in mine & I hate it, cheesy at best, lol. Thanks for the pics, not many of us left nowadays.

Nice.....I had a 92" Shadow with 6x9 Jensen's in the rear deck,5.25 Blaupunkt in the front doors,2 US Acoustic 2150's powering 2 KICKER 12' Competition subs in a Q Logic sealed box,1 US Acoustic 4050 powering the front & rear speakers.All 3 amps were secured to the rear passenger seat plus the Pryramid electronic crossover.Head unit was a Pioneer and cant remember the model # for that.& best of all,i still have it all boxed up & stashed away @ my parents house:)
