Video: Monster Speaker Cable

Learn about some of Monster's popular speaker cable lines, and get tips on choosing the right kind for your system.

Steve: Monster Cable is practically synonymous with speaker cable. They've spent over thirty years researching and refining their cable designs for better sound. They're frequently used by musicians and in recording studios.

Dave: Right. And Monster Cable is also quite popular in homes, but it's not always the least expensive speaker cable option.

Steve: And we know that not everyone believes that speaker cables can make a difference. Some people have never heard that difference, and admittedly it's easier to hear on some systems than others. But if you have a high-quality system and you want to get the most out of it, speaker cables can be one of your most cost-effective improvements.

Dave: In this video, Steve and I are going to offer some advice on choosing the best speaker cables for your system.

Steve: Monster Cable's first speaker cable design is called Monster Original, and it's a great all purpose heavy-gauge cable — works pretty much with any system, and it can handle high power.

Dave: Yeah. One of the first times that I ever heard an improvement in the sound of my system that wasn't the direct result of adding a new component was connecting Monster Cable's Original cable. And like most people at the time, I was using just regular old lamp cord.

Steve: Me too.

Dave: Didn't know any better, and as soon as I put that Monster in my system I immediately was surprised by how much better the bass sounded and how much louder my system played.

Steve: Monster also makes a cable called XPHP. It's physically smaller that Original but it has a lot of the same performance. It's actually designed for smaller rooms and smaller systems.

Dave: And the décor friendly Monster XP cable is also good for small systems, and it comes available in a red or paintable white.

Steve: And if you want a cable that really blends into your room, Monster also makes a cable called SuperFlat™ Mini that's also paintable white and is super flexible. And it might look thin, but it actually has over three hundred strands, so it's no sonic lightweight.

Dave: You'll notice that some cables come with the connectors already attached. Good connectors are important because they make your cables easier to hook up, and they give you a more secure connection. If you need custom links for your cables you can buy separate connectors from Monster.

Steve: And there are several different kinds of connectors. The ones we're showing here are especially easy to attach because you don't even need any tools.
