Articles & Videos: Marine Remotes

Whether you're fishing, waterskiing, or just cruising around, boating is even more enjoyable when you have a quality marine audio system. Here's how we outfitted two different boats belonging to Crutchfield employees.

When Doug, Crutchfield's Operations Manager, installed a new marine stereo on his fishing boat, a Grady-White Journey 258, we were there with our video camera. Some folks from Poly-Planar, the marine audio specialists, offered to help with the work and even provided some of the gear.

A marine receiver has to do more than just look good and sound great. It also has to stand up to salt, spray, sunlight, and rough weather. Kenwood designed their 2013 marine receivers and remotes to withstand the rigors of boating life, with a conformal-coated circuit board that helps prevents moisture from seeping in and causing damage.

Years ago, prepping so-called "marine" audio equipment for life on a boat basically meant giving some old gear a new serial number and a white finish. Oh, how times have changed. Boaters demanded better, and companies like FUSION are delivering. We're proud to add these products to our marine lineup.
