Crutchfield Corp. earns top honors during 2007 Multichannel Merchant Awards
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — June 14, 2007 — Crutchfield Corp. announced today that its catalog and Website received top honors during the 22nd Annual Multichannel Merchant Awards (MCM Awards), presented by MULTICHANNEL MERCHANT during a luncheon ceremony at the Annual Conference for Catalog & Multichannel Merchants in Boston. Crutchfield took home the Business-to-Consumer Multichannel Merchant of the Year Award for the synergy between its Fall 2006 catalog and Crutchfield.com Website. The marketers Website was also awarded Website of the Year as well as a Gold Web Channel Award in the Comptuers, High-Tech Equipment, and Software category. Additionally, the Fall 2006 catalog won a Silver Print Channel Award in the Computers, High-Tech Equipment, and Software category. The MCM Awards honor the finest business-to-business (B-to-B) and business-to-consumer (B-to-C) marketers from the catalog and e-commerce industry. Winners were culled from a total of 64 Print Channel finalists, 37 Web Channel finalists, and 11 Cross Channel finalists in 17 categories. The finalists were selected from more than 200 entries. In all, Multichannel Merchant presented 55 accolades during the ceremony. The MCM Awards are evaluated by a panel of experts through a series of three judging sessions: pre-screening, in-home evaluations, and a final judging session. Entries are evaluated on creative, merchandising, copy, customer service/navigation, and marketing execution. The highest scoring entry in each category receives a Gold Award, while the second highest scoring entry in each category receives a Silver Award. The Catalog of the Year and Website of the Year Awards recognize the catalog and Website with the highest score. The Business-to-Business and the Business-to-Consumer Multichannel Merchant of the Year Awards recognize two companies that were finalists in the same category in both the Print and Web Channels, earned at least one gold award, and received the highest average numerical score between both channels, in addition to demonstrating synergy across channels. Winners will be featured in Multichannel Merchant magazine’s annual awards issue in September 2007. “The Multichannel Merchant Awards are the height of achievement for catalog and Web merchants,” said Leslie Bacon, Multichannel Merchant publisher. “The Awards are not a beauty or circulation contest; they’re not about who’s the biggest or most unusual. It’s about meeting—and exceeding—merchandising, marketing, service, production, and creative standards.” “Judges were impressed with Crutchfield’s dedication to educating customers on its products and helping them make better choices on what to purchase. The assurance of continued customer support after making a purchase and an excellent online search and correction technology sealed the deal for judges, who named the marketer Business-to-Consumer Multichannel Merchant of the Year and Website of the Year,” said Bacon.
