CRUTCHFIELD PLAYS SANTA ON ABC'S "EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION"
Southwestern Virginia Family Gets Much-Needed Electronic Snowstorm Just in Time
For the Holidays
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (Dec. 7, 2005) When the call came into Crutchfield on Thursday morning, December 8th from the producers of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," there literally wasn't a second to waste. As the demolition and building crews were beginning their work at Carol Crawford-Smith's Blacksburg, Virginia home, they realized they needed to add some electronics into the mix. So they turned to the logical choice: Crutchfield, the nation's largest direct integrated marketer of consumer electronics products. With no time to spare since work was already under way at the house, Santa's helpers at Crutchfield loaded up their "sleigh," and headed literally through a sleet storm on Thursday night over the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Crawford-Smith home. "When we heard Carol's story, we knew we had no choice but to lend our support, our time and our expertise," said Bill Crutchfield, founder and CEO. Matt Kennedy and Keith Christiansen, Crutchfield's custom home installation consultants, were some of the first to spring into action. "Our team responded to the call immediately, put an entire plan together, pulled the products and jumped in the car the same day the call came in. We are very excited to be part of a life-changing experience for Carol," said Keith. When the Crutchfield team arrived at the site Thursday night, the snow was already piling up, but the team got to work, and will be wiring and installing all day on Friday and Saturday. The show is scheduled to air in the early part of 2006. About Crutchfield Corporation #### For more information, press only: |
