If you've had a cool, fun, exciting, inspiring, cutting-edge, unique, interesting, or just plain good experience with Crutchfield or your Crutchfield gear, we want to hear about it. E-mail us at mystory@crutchfield.com with the information outlined below, and you could be featured in our catalog or on Crutchfield.com Please provide the following information about yourself: name, occupation, city and state, and e-mail address. You can write to us about your home or car A/V system, your favorite gadget, or your Crutchfield experience.
How to submit your photos
You can send us up to nine digital photographs to accompany your story.
For a home A/V system, please include:
- Up to three wide shots of the full room
- Up to four close-ups of the most important products in your system
For a car A/V system, please include:
- A shot of the exterior of your car, preferably outdoors with natural light
- Up to four shots of the most important products in your system
We'll need a photo of you, too
Please include at least one photo of yourself. We prefer a friendly, casual, fairly close-up shot of you with your system or your gadget. Please include only yourself in the photo. And whatever you do, don't forget to smile.
General guidelines
- Send color photographs in JPG, TIFF, EPS format.
- For digital cameras: please set your camera to a medium resolution image size (such as 1600 x 1200 or 2048 x 1536, about 2-3 megapixels) and select the finest image quality (least amount of compression) mode.
- Don't crop your shots to a smaller image size.
- Avoid shooting the photo in so much sunlight that it gets "washed out."
- Do not take the picture at night.
- Try not to choose a photo with snow in the background.
- Keep your email attachments to 5MB or less in total. If all of your photos won't fit in one email, you can send multiple emails to: mystory@crutchfield.com.
- Stories submitted without photos will not be considered for publication.
Terms and Conditions
Submitting a story does not guarantee publication. Crutchfield will only publish stories submitted by Crutchfield customers. If the story involves one or more consumer electronics products, at least one of the products discussed in the story must have been purchased from Crutchfield.
Crutchfield is not obligated to accept any mystory submission. If our Editors decide to publish your submission, Crutchfield expressly reserves the right to monitor, remove, or edit any content you may submit in any degree at its sole and absolute discretion. Crutchfield New Media LLC takes no responsibility and assumes no liability whatsoever for any content which you may submit.
Crutchfield, at its sole discretion, may modify the terms hereof at any time without prior warning and may discontinue or expand the mystory email account at any time without prior warning.
Guidelines: Since this is a public site that is viewed by the general public, you must abide by the following policies. Submitting your story is your acknowledgement and agreement to the following:
- You will not use offensive and/or abusive language.
- You will not defame, impugn, or libel any individual or company in any way
- You may only submit a car system story if the vehicle being depicted belongs to you and contains at least one car audio/video item purchased from Crutchfield. You may only submit a home system story if it contains at least one audio/video item purchased from Crutchfield. You may only submit a product use story if that item was purchased from Crutchfield. You may only submit a Crutchfield experience story if you are a Crutchfield customer.
- You agree that you will not display prices.
- You agree and acknowledge that this is not a forum and that you will not submit anything that asks for a reply from any other individual.
- You agree that you will not display any information that will personally identify another individual.
- You agree that you will not include website addresses, telephone numbers, personal or business addresses, email addresses or any links to any other website.
- You agree that Crutchfield may (but is not obligated to), at its sole and absolute discretion, publish and use your name, profession, city, and state in any way whatsoever and in any media whatsoever in perpetuity including, but not limited to, publishing that information on the world wide web, Crutchfield Advertising and the Crutchfield catalog which will allow members of the general public to access and use said information.
- You hereby represent and warrant that you have full ownership of any content that you submit and that the content is accurate and honest.
- You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Crutchfield New Media, LLC and its officers, employees, agents and affiliates from any liability whatsoever caused by your submission.
- By submitting any content you hereby agree that you are granting Crutchfield New Media LLC an exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable right to use, reproduce, modify, distribute and redistribute all of said content on any website and any other media at Crutchfield's sole and absolute discretion.
- You acknowledge and agree to register with Crutchfield New Media LLC by providing us with your full name, home address, telephone number, and email address. We will use this information to contact you in case we have any questions about your submission; we will provide it to law enforcement officials and third parties if any legal claims are made due to your submission.
