These self-adhesive, color-coded labels keep your audio, video, and speaker cables clearly identified, eliminating the hassle of adding a component or reconnecting your system after a move. We've also included labels for your power cords so you no longer have to guess which cord to pull out of your power protector when you need to free up plug-in space. You get four pages of helpful labels, all in all.

Great little tool but arrived damaged

Written by: martyh from California on December 24, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These sheets of labels were included in the same outer shipped box that contained my newly purchased receiver. Unfortunately, the individual who placed these sheets in the box did not do so carefully. The sheets now have two permanent creases in them angled across the entire pages. This would have been avoided had the label sheets simply been placed flat in the box. Thankfully the receiver appears to have been handled more carefully.

Pros: In the past I've used pieces of masking tape and black marker to label cables; not only will these labels be more professional looking and easier to read, they will hopefully be more permanent.

Cons: Poor packing; most labels are creased. I don't know if this will affect their use or not -- I'll be spending next week setting up the new receiver at which time I will make use of these labels.

I got this item as a free product with purchase of a receiver and I wasn't too sure if this would be useful, but god I was wrong. This is the first time am setting up a home theater and these labels came in very very handy in figuring out which wire goes where. Am glad these labels were included with my purchase, but I doubt I would buy these for $5

Great to keep your wires Organized

Written by: Christopher M. from Connecticut on April 27, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received these free after purchasing some home audio equipment. I never used labels before, but found them to be invaluable. They attach very easily and keep the wires to your equipment organized. They eliminate the guess work out of figuring out which wire belongs to which device.

Pros: Keeps your equipment organized Easy to attach; just peel and and place over wire Plenty of options for a myriad of units and devices Saves time instead of your making your own

Cons: Can only use for one setup (i.e. it only has one TV sticker etc.) I don't think they're worth 5 dollars (if you need to pay for them)

Written by: Peter from Valencia, CA on February 21, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I did not order the labels, they came free with a purchase. I tried them out, even though I know where all my cables are going. One major label is missing. HDMI in and out for a DVR. DVRs are HD, they have HDMI. No labels for Media Streaming devices, even though they have an AC power label for one. No labels for older equipment, like tape decks. So you use a lot of blank labels. This is where the 1 star comes in. The labels are glossy, so nothing writes on them well. Ink pens or markers just rub right off making them useless.

Pros: None really. It is not hard to follow a cable to see where it comes from and where it plugs in.

Cons: Missing labels for current equipment and older equipment. Glossy labels are useless for writing on.

Good product, and a nice add-on from Crutchfield!

Pros: The cable labels are convenient, and the printed labeling gives a clean professional look. And, you can't beat free!

Cons: There are some blank labels, but I would rather see more blanks, either in addition to, or in place of other labels, and some sense of what can be used to mark the labels would be great - neither ball-point pen nor Sharpie worked particularly well for me. Maybe the blanks should be un-laminated to make them easier to mark.

Cable tie labels

Written by: Wayner from Winston-Salem on December 15, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was extremely impressed by the "extra" that was shipped along with my new amp: cable tie labels, which are sticky labels pre-printed (some are blank for custom use) with the usual 7.2 circuit names. Even the power plug has a label. How cool is that when you're searching through the spaghetti for the correct cable?

Pros: The Crutchfield folks are there on the other end of the phoneline to help. That is an extra dimension and it makes a world of difference to me.

Crutchfield Audio/Video CableLabels™

Written by: Joseph from Minneapolis, MN on December 9, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Cable labels are nothing to get too excited about; after all, they take time away from getting your system all set up. That being said, I'm glad I did not overlook using these as they'll definitely be handy if you ever have to look back at your wires and move around anything. For example, if you have a surround system, you definitely want to have each of your speaker wires labeled, as otherwise they all look the same and you can get confused if ever they need to get pulled out of your receiver. THANK YOU, Crutchfield!

Pros: Great thing to have. Take the time to put these onto all your cables and wires, and you'll save yourself a headache down the road.

Cons: Zero.

Written by: TE from Tupelo,MS on November 22, 2012

The labels are a good idea, and generally useful, but the blank customizable ones 1-logo leaves little space to write on and 2-Slick paper r3pels a sharpie marker and is a poor surface for a ballpoint pen. If I had paid for these, i would be disappointed.

Pros: Generally useful

Cons: Slick surface is impossible to write on

Crutchfield A/V cable labels

Written by: ArtW from Valley Center, KS on November 4, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Of course, I had all of the cables labeled before the Crutchfield labels were received. I needed to label the network cable, which was new for my installation, but there were none available pre-printed. The blank ones were not used because I couldn't find a compatible pen or marker to write the information. No instructions were provided as to what type of marker would work with the labels to give a permanent label. So, they were not useful to me.

Pros: A good idea.

Cons: Not up to date for my installation.

Now it's "pull a wire, put on a sticker"... It took 1/4 the time that it used to and I got them all right the first time. Woo Hoo. Nice freebie Crutchfields...

Pros: Simple to use and more helpful than you can imagine, especially if you have a 7.1 with several peripherals. CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, Dish... Used to be "Plug and Pray"... Now it's, well, you know the rest......

Whoever came up with these was really thinking. Really great to have all of your cables labeled if you are taking your system apart and putting it together frequently. But, if you set it up and forget it you probably won't have any need for them. I've been setting up stereo's for 30 years with out labels. Its kinda like cell phones and Google. Cable Labels

Written by: Brian in MD from Brunswick, MD on June 17, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The idea of the labels is nice - but the manner in which they are applied could be cleaner. They are designed to go on in a "flag" like manner rather than wrapping around the cable.

Pros: Nice to be able to ID your cables.

Cons: The flag style of labeling makes a nice clean installation look messy with all of these tags hanging off the ends of your cables.

As always seems the case, my second receiver purchase from Crutchfield arrived with an assortment of labels to apply during hookup, allowing for future mistake-free changes. I applied the speaker labels as they were removed from the old receiver, so that when it was time to put the new receiver into service, it went more smoothly and easily than using a roll of masking tape and magic marker. I labeled each wire as I removed it from the old receiver (and if you have an AV receiver and several components, and six speakers for a Dolby set-up, you will have lots of wires) - made installation of the new device a breeze. Of course you could use some other label, or paper and tape, but these labels make that process much more efficient.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent product...my cables look so much better than before. No more home made, masking tape, hand lettered, process that I used before. Very professional looking and much easier to read. There are a little easy to tear...so now that you have a heads up, you'll have no problem. Thanks Crutchfield for the great looking labels.

Pros: Professional look. Easy to use. Covered every cable run that I needed. Now my home cabinet looks like it was installed by the network guys.

Cons: Just be careful when pressing the ends together as you get close to the base of the cable. The labels will tear if miss-handled. Don't press them together with your nails...just finger tips. A great product...very helpful.

Not my first choice for labeling cables

Written by: Bob from Boston on March 6, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Thoughtful touch to provide these "free" -- but the adhesive backing eventually runs on the rubber insulation used in the cables. At that point the labels start to fall off and the cables are left with the sticky. There are better non-adhesive ways to attach label to cable -- I used zip ties with a labeling plate as an alternative ... you can put the preprinted Crutchfield labels on the "plate" for a polished look.

One of best things about Crutchfield

Written by: Mike from Fairfax, VA on February 14, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Other than the Crutchfield tech support, these cable labels would be reason enough to buy from Crutchfield. I recently replaced a DVD player purchased from Crutchfield a few years ago. It was connected to a video switch housed in an AV cabinet with the typical tangle of cables. I was able to find the right cable quickly due to the cables being labeled on both ends. I'm glad I took the time during the original install to label everything

Pros: Very complete set of labels. Easy to use. Color coded.

Cons: None

Good idea not done well

Written by: LWC from San Diego on February 13, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The labels are a good idea in that they make keeping track of wires much easier, but the idea is not well executed. For one thing, the writing surface has a shinny finish that makes it very difficult to add any writing to the labels. Also, the plasticizing that give it the finish is not strong enough to prevent the labels from tearing once they are on the wire.

Pros: Convenience in keeping track of wires to be attached to the equipment.

Cons: Platicized surface makes writing on the label very difficult, but its not strong enough to prevent the label from tearing off the wire accidentally.

Really simplified swapping out my old receiver

Written by: Stan from Amarillo, TX on February 2, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Basically very good. A couple of things could enhance them -- a way to wrap the labels around the wire a couple of times -- particularly on speaker leads where they can slip off. Also the labels are primarily oriented toward modern AV systems -- there aren't labels for some legacy devices. On the other hand they provide lots of blank labels that work well with permanent markers.

Pros: lots of labels on good quality plastic that shouldn't degrade over time

Cons: Adhesive is only fair -- it would be better if the label could be wrapped around wires a couple of times, but the instructions don't indicate that this is possible.

Written by: Chuck G from Versailles, IN on January 28, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Was included with a receiver I purchase and was a very nice feature. Couple of suggestions though: 1) labels tend to tear during installation on wires, could be heavier weight label stock, 2) Blank labels are nice but the glossy finish on the labels make it difficult to impossible to write on the label (even when I found a pen that would write the ink smeared during installation).

Pros: Nice to have everything labelled.

Cons: Label stock not heavy enough and glossy finish prevents writing on blank labels.

These are great and come in very useful in connecting everything to the back of receivers and so forth. Now I don't have to trace everything back to the device to make sure I plug the right thing into the right connector.

Unused Product

I suppose if you have an extensive home entertainment system, which I do not this product could be of some value - my so called system consists merely of the new Sony 46" Bravia 929, a new Blue Ray disc player, and an older DVD/VHS recorder/player. I can look at the rears of my units and SEE and KNOW to which unit and input/output speciific cables are connected - without labels. They were free - came with the TV, I have not used them, doubt I ever will, and most certainly would not have purchased them.

If you have a stereo with a lot of gear these lablels come in handy. If you have a 5.1 or higher surround sound the lablels are a blessing !

Best thing Crutchfield could have done was sending plenty of cable labels. Makes the job easier when laying out audio and video cables. Good job!!!

these labels are great! Our media room has all the Pre-wire, but none of them were labelled. These really come in handy to identify them from my initial cabling.
