Great Kit for F350

Written By Holland, Nevada on Wednesday, May 20, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Instructions included and they were easy to understand. Didn't need anything extra and simply had to cut off two plastic ears for my F350 Ford.

Pros: Fit Very well - liked it a lot. Included for free with the stereo purchase. Better than amazoo for the price!

Cons: Tight fit, but not impossible!

Perfect fit, '04 F350

Written By JGrove, Maryland on Tuesday, May 19, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fit perfectly into my 2004 F350 XLT. Don't even have to remove any dash pieces. I would recommend using the metal cage with your headunit so you can remove the unit if you need to. The included mounts snap into place making it difficult to remove later on if needed.

Pros: Easy install. Looks good.

Cons: none

Easy to install and made the dash look nice with the new Kenwood deck installed.

Pros: Easy install.

Cons: Not a huge fan of the marbled plastic look, but it isn't bad.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Mostly fine but did not have correct part for rear support. Looks great in dash.

Pros: Good looks. Face plate looks stock. Snapped right in, tight fit.

Cons: Incorrect rear support part.

One size to rule them all.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This worked fine for me but it is plastic and while I can't complain I can't praise it either. Although I do like the pocket.

Pros: Works

Cons: Black plastic is the only option.

American International FMK-550 Dash Kit

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Perfect fit in my '09 Ranger. Just had to use the factory support clip on the back, and it took a little finesse to get it maneuvered into the hole.

Pros: Perfect fit.

Cons: Didn't know what to do with the extra parts so I mailed them to my senile Aunt Beatrice in Saskatchewan. She did not have any success in using them as cat toys.

Perfect

Perfect fit for my 2003 F350. Made installing a single din radio a snap. Small storage box could be on top or bottom in this application.

Pros: Fit well, reversible

Cons: None

Does the job

Written By Mike, New Jersey on Wednesday, April 29, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This adaptor plate works... I am simply glad they still had this for such an old car as mine. It not perfect and you need to fiddle with it a bit but it simply does the job of adapting the newer radios to these old ford style 2 din openings.

Pros: I was able to put in the radio I wanted. Very cheap in cost.

Cons: Its not a perfect fit as it uses simple plastic molded clips along the edge to hold it into the original opening. Some clips would not grab leaving the adaptor plate moveable. I found that I was able to push down more of the din sleeve tabs for the radio itself and they grabbed onto the original opening in the spots that needed to be secured.

Fit perfectly in my 2002 Town Car even better than a previous version of the product I had from four years ago.

Pros: Looks great and had no problem installing.

Cons: None that I can think of.

American International FMK-550 Dash Kit

Written By DallasGAZ, Chandler, AZ on Thursday, April 23, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great kit, easy to use but, follow the master sheet because the kit comes with extra pieces that might not be necessary for the vehicle it's being installed in.

Pros: Easy to install fits great.

Cons: Instructions with the kit were a little confusing but, the master sheet was helpful.

Install kit challenged

Written By PZ, New York on Thursday, April 23, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The kit is not really compatible with a 2010 ford ranger truck dash. The instructions were completely wrong and the soft plastic prongs broke as I followed the directions to install. The plastic side pieces wouldn't fit, and the metal sleeve did not have bendable prongs in the right places to secure it to the plastic frame. The cheap plastic prongs broke on the main frame. .A call to tech support informed me to install it completely backwards from the printed instructions. I did, but the install is not secure. This is a truck, and it needs a positive attachment, not ill fitting plastic prongs.

Pros: It's black.

Cons: Does not hold radio in dash. Install instructions completely wrong for the ranger.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It worked great. The documentation didn't indicate that you needed to remove the trim cover before inserting the radio in its frame. That made me scratch my head for five minutes or so... but it worked fine.

generic dash kit meant for many different model vehicles.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

used kit on 2000 ford F 250. this kid is a generic single din kit that replaces a dual din. although the kit fit inside the space needed for the stereo I was not pleased and would not order again after hafting to modify the mounting for the stereo. I would still recommend purchasing connectors and stereos from Crutchfield, however in this situation the mounting kit was too generic and did not fulfill my needs correctly.

Pros: None

Cons: Too generic for proper mounting in all vehicles it covers.

Cheap Plastic

Written By Russ, Nevada on Tuesday, April 07, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Cheap plastic. Had to make a small cut to get it to fit. Snaps into place, but the side clips are small and don't really hold all that great. The rear support sticks up into where the radio goes, so its either cut it off or leave it off. The small little cubby space just looks like a dust collector.

Pros: It works, sort of.

Cons: If there was an alternative I'd buy it.
