Pros: ease of installation, simple instructions, supplied at no cost with the radio,,,can't say much more about a piece of plastic other than it makes the whole look... Cons: A bit of a tight fit into the existing factory opening for my 99 Grand Prix this may not be the case in other makes and models in any case it was not a problem of major concerne, slid in and screwed down fine... Was this review helpful? Yes | No 2 out of 5 Poorly designed product Written By WHB, GA on Friday, July 22, 2011 This receiver kit was poorly designed. It first requires you to cut a mounting bracket in the dash cavity. Once that was cut, i realized the kit was too wide for the dash cavity opening. I had to use a dremel to trim down the edges. Once the kit is installed it protudes from the dash an inch(as i was informed it would) and then the thickness of the cd player deck makes it stickout almost 1/2 inch more. This kit could have been designed to go a little bit deeper in the dash after cutting the rear bracket from the dash cavity. Was this review helpful? I noticed a lot of people commented about having to file stuff down but that was not the case at all. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 In-dash Receiver Kit Written By CT, MN on Friday, June 03, 2011 This dash kit is one of the best I have used. It snapped together for a perfect fit! Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 '03 Grand Prix GT Install Written By 03grandprix, Dayton, OH on Friday, April 08, 2011 It took some work to make everything fit correctly; I had to file down the factory DIN slot to make this fit correctly. It was not a big deal, however. Just required some elbow grease. Also, it was some work to get it on the receiver itself. However, all of this tightly-fitting stuff made for a pretty good looking install. I'd challenge someone to tell me it wasn't professionally done. It matches the dash trim color and everything, too. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 In-dash Receiver Kit Written By Ryan, BELOIT, WI on Tuesday, April 05, 2011 If you are comfortable with your mechanical ability you can easily make this fit the dash flush. With a little modification of the internal factory stereo support you can use only the mounting bracket and not the bump-out part of the kit. As for the fit I had to break out the files to make it fit how I felt it should. For being included with a new deck i really cannot complain, looks clean and fits with no wiggle 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix Was this review helpful? Yes | No 1 out of 5 In-dash Receiver Kit Written By Devo, montana on Sunday, March 20, 2011 product does not fit well. takes quite a bit of force to make it fit. was not pleased with this dash kit Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Works perfect Written By RobS, Syracuse, UT on Saturday, February 05, 2011 Putting a new stereo in my daughter's 2000 Grand Am...it seems as if this model year is the one that no other kits cover. I didn't dare buy another kit just to find out it doesn't fit, like it says on the box. Enter Crutchfield, I remembered the name from my teenage years buying Kenwood casette decks and Alpine EQ/amplifiers. The last setup I had in my car is now in my camp trailer. I knew I could trust Crutchfield when it came to installation kits. If it says it will fit, it will. It took me an hour with my underpowered soldering gun to connect the harness, and twenty minutes in the garage to replace the whole unit. Thanks Crutchfield. Was this review helpful?
