It attaches to your vehicle's roof with its powerful magnetic base, and its 19.75' micro-coaxial cable will connect to any single-input XM tuner (micro-cables are usually routed under molding of rear window to the XM tuner). You can also connect this antenna to a dual-input XM receiver, using an optional signal splitter. Important Note: You must subscribe to XM Satellite Radio to receive the satellite radio signal. Features Overview: The American International compact XM-2SAA roof-mount satellite radio antenna is a low-profile, high-performance antenna designed specifically for XM Satellite Radio reception. The XM-2SAA has a powerful magnetic base that allows you to mount the antenna on the roof or trunk lid of your vehicle. Note: Because the antenna uses a single antenna connection, a splitter is required when connecting it to a system that has two antenna connections. System Requirements: In addition to the XM-2SAA satellite radio antenna, it is necessary to have an XM Satellite Radio receiver and a subscription to XM Satellite Radio in order to receive XM Radio programming. Installation Note: In installations where the component's antenna connector is inset, the FAKRA housing from the XM-2SAA must be removed. In this situation, the housing must be cut and it cannot be reinstalled. Product Reviews Review this product Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences about this product. In order to make it fit the roadie you have to take off a plastic cap, which is almost impossible. What remains is a bare wire attached to a tiny metal cap that loosely fits the roadie, and falls out easily. Within a few weeks this antenna failed. To Crutchfield's credit...they immediately replaced it with a new antenna, for which I am grateful. However...same problem...first you have to figure out how to take off the plastic cap (not at all easy like the picture would have you believe), then you are left with a fragile wire, which almost immediately quit working, even though I handled it very delicately. Now I don't dare change the station on my XM, because if I touch the wires.....connection fails. I don't believe there is any adequate replacement antenna available for the Roadie. 37 out of 52 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
