The elegant, décor-friendly Bose® Acoustimass® 10 Series IV home entertainment speaker system delivers high-quality home theater sound without visually taking over your room. Five tiny speakers and a slender Acoustimass® module work together, delivering spacious, natural-sounding music and high-impact home theater sound effects. Bose's innovative approach is the key.
The four small dual-cube satellites feature Bose's patented swiveling design. You can adjust each speaker's cubes to get the perfect mix of direct and reflecting sound. The low-profile center channel speaker fits easily on top of your television, or you can wall-mount it below a flat-panel TV. This system's sleek, powered Acoustimass® module boasts two 5-1/4" woofers and easily tucks away behind a table or couch. Color-coded cables make setup exceptionally quick and easy. And Bose's solid build quality and electronic protection circuitry ensure that this system will fill your room with great sound for years to come.
Looking for speakers that'll deliver thrilling, edge-of-your-seat surround sound? Choosing a pre-matched speaker system is one way to ensure seamless home theater performance. These systems are made up of speakers that share the same tonal characteristics that means the sound will stay consistent as it moves from speaker to speaker around your room. Most pre-matched systems come with a subwoofer a must-have for high-impact bass.
Don't think, just buy. Just because there are more expensive speakers, doesn't mean that you must buy them. Unless you're an acoustics engineer working in a studio, theses speakers will more than suffice.
Pros: Quality, value, and aesthetics.
Cons: None as of yet.
great speakers, great sound couldn't sound better
Pros: easy set up hooked up and running in minutes
Grew up in the age where bigger meant better regarding speakers. Then went into a Bose store and saw these little amazing cubes blasting incredible sound clarity that just blew me away. Told myself then, "some day." My wife and I recently purchased the house of our dreams and it was pre-wired for surround sound so knew in my heart that Bose wish needed to become reality. She was concerned about the price (we`ve never spent that on sound before), but now that I have them working all she says is "can we watch another movie, or turn the radio on, play a CD!" We are both hooked and very happy with our purchase!
Pros: Small size with huge sound. Ultimate in clarity
Cons: Holes in back for wires are meant for the speaker wire the system comes with and the wire pre-installed in my walls was a slightly larger gauge making it difficult to connect.
Great ordeal, great advice, great product, Bose at it's best.
Pros: Fit us great, in style, and sound.
Cons: Sub quite large.
Replaced a older AV Receiver Running Bose 901's With a New Onkyo 609 5.1 and added Bose® Acoustimass® 10 Series IV home entertainment speaker system in it's Place - Base Sounds larger and fills the room With Rear speaker placements,
Pros: Small Speakers with LARGE Sound and onced placed appear out of site,
Great sounding system for movies and Tv watching in General.
Pros: Sounds awesome watching movies. Small stature,
Cons: Sub is a little big, Not a huge deal but a little big IMO
I have been dreaming of this system along with a new tv for a long time. I finally saved enough to make it happen and yeah, it was worth it. Very easy to install and set up. Especially with a new hdmi capable receiver. Good on Crutchfield for giving $100 off with the purchase of a new receiver.
Pros: Excellent sound that is second to none. The sub has quite a bit of power as well.
Cons: The cost if course is rather high for any Bose but I think it is worth it. The only other con I can think of is having to run speaker wires. To have the quality sound though I don't mind wires.
Had an expensive Polk system and a Klipsch system previously. The Bose does a much better job of reproducing movie sound than either of the other systems. Much easier to hear the voice dialogue as well. If I was to criticize this system at all, I would say that the music reproduction is a little weak compared to the other systems. But it performs superb at giving the "in theater" sound effects and Cinema experience which is why I bought it. It does well in the 10' x 15' room that I use it in.
Pros: Easy setup. Great Cinema effects. Clear voice reproduction. Excellent clarity in the highs and medium ranges. Moderate bass reproduction.
Cons: Slightly weak at music reproduction.
I replaced a much larger Cerwin-Vega home theater system with the Bose Acoustimass 10 Series IV and could not be happier. I loved the quality and depth of sound I received from the larger Cerwin set up but I needed to gain more living room space. While the Bose system is very expensive, I am could not be happier with the sound clarity and power I get from this system. I would recommend this product to anyone who is a fan of Bose quality sound engineered products but need to save on space and appreciate the small simplistic design.
Pros: - Unrivaled sound quality from such a small set-up - Ample power - Name recognition - Powerful bass module
Cons: - System is very expensive - Bass module is on the large side
This units performance in my space is outstanding. I have regular walls, 10 feet high with a cathedrals ceiling to a night of 22 feet. There is wood floors and the cathedrals are wood paneling. So is as good as possible with out have the symphony right here in the room.
Pros: Small and easy to install.
Cons: Note with the system, however, if don't have a good place to put the subwoofer without it being very obvious and in plane sight. A small issue.
Bitter sweet. I am rating this at five stars due to its perfect sound. However there is an issue.... In the past I have ran other systems ( about four ) and they all hook up the same way. Speakers to the receiver and then to TV. However, Bose is different. All the speakers must be routed to the sub-woofer and then to the receiver. Which make it difficult for me due to the fact my viewing room has in-wall speaker runs which dump out behind where the receiver installs. My problem is that my sub is in the rear of the room so I now have to run wires from the speaker exit behind the receiver, to the back of the room to the sub and back to the receiver....which is about sixty feet of wire. Or forget the in-wall wiring and relocate the sub. Again, this system sound great and I am impressed. Other then the wiring issue it is top notch
Pros: Great sound and bass
Bose gets awful reviews online but I love these speakers. Sound good when playing music but great when watching movies!
Pros: Size and sound
Cons: All wires go to bass speaker then to receiver, lots of wires!
direction -good hookup went well
Pros: great sound very clear plenty of volume
Cons: Some times the bass come to strong . It seem to very in the way the recordings are produced.
I was debating on ordering these speakers for sometime because of the price. I finally did it and am thrilled with my purchase. They are a little pricey compared to the competition but they are great speakers. I only gave it 4 stars and not 5 because of the price. I use the speakers for watching sports, movies and listening to music. I connected them to my Denon AVR-X2000 receiver. The pair works great together.
Pros: Great sound. Great look.
Cons: High price tag
I had different speakers systems before like Yamaha, Onkyo and Sony. By far this is the best system I ever had. The sound is crystal clear and the base is amazing, not a disperse base sound but a clear and firm feeling.
Pros: Very easy to install. You connect the speakers to the woofer and the woofer directly to the receiver ... done.
The quality sound is just spectacular. Love it
I demoed these at a Bose store and they sounded fantastic. I have a large living room open at the left end and they just did not work for me. Output was low, stereo image was not like I experienced at the store, and there was a big gap in the lower midrange. Sounded good, but not as good as the speakers I was replacing.
Pros: Small, easy wiring, decent tone.
Cons: Thin tone, not very efficient in terms of volume for 135 watts per channel. Better speakers available for the money.
Simply amazing sound with booming bass and crystal clear highs! Bose always puts out very high quality products and this is no exception. I paired it with my Onkyo TX-NR-626 and the sound is ridiculous!
Crutchfield has been by far the best experience in home electronic shopping via internet and quite frankly any retail stores. I previously purchased an other stereo system from Crutchfield, but unfortunately if didn't work in the size and configuration of my room. A return was effortless, re-order of the Bose System was expedient and most of all it works and fits our needs. Great company and product.
Pros: Easy set up, very variable in placement of speakers to maximize listening pleasure. Extremely happy with the sounds and of course my wife is happy. (:
Cons: Little more expensive than I had wished to spend, but the end results was worth it, especially with hearing issues.
I did some research before buying this set, and although there were other options I decided to try the Bose for three main reasons: reputation, price, size. My parents and uncle always had Bose and I remembered them sounding fantastic and lasting for decades. Also, I needed to downsize from my 1990's era Harman Kardon AVR-30 system running Klipsch surround sound speakers and didn't have the funds to rebuild a similar performing system. I'm running these Bose with a Denon AVR 2312CI and have been extremely pleased with the sound and the ease of install/setup. The sound quality, volume, and range are great for watching HD movies and TV, but I have not really used them for listening to music. While it is true there are better systems available, I believe the Bose Acoustimass 10 Series IV speakers pack a lot of sound into a small package at a reasonable price...I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Pros: Super easy, color-coded setup. Very small speakers that fit anywhere and easily blend into room (except bass module, which is quite large). Great sound. Reasonable price.
Cons: True "audiophiles" do not like that each speaker plugs into the bass speaker which then acts as a control module which restricts user controlability.
Great sound, easy set up. Works great with my Denon receiver and has for the last 2 years.
I first tried to be conservative and purchassed the mirage nanosat 5.1 system. The mirage system sounded ok but far from great. So i exchanged the nano system for this bose system and i can now hear and feel what the mirage speakers failed to deliver. Long story short i am very pleased with my puchase and cruthfield is second to none. Thanks crutchfield,Bose, and Onkyo. Great service and products.
Pros: sound very full and clear at very low volume and at high volume.
Cons: little spendy but worth the investment..
One of the best products i have ever bought, takes up very little space and the sound is great! The system is worth every penny!
I have a small TV room that was in need of speakers and these really fit the bill. This is my second set of Bose speakers and really didn't look at any other brands. Their small, excellent sound and easy install. If you want to save floor space and want excellent sound these speakers are for you.
Pros: Sounds Great, Stylish, Easy Install

Virtually Invisible Speaker System Design: The Virtually Invisible speaker system design gives you expansive sound without dominating your décor. The Acoustimass module delivers deep, powerful bass without audible port noise, so it can be hidden almost anywhere in the listening area. The music and sound effects seem to come from the tiny cube speaker arrays.
Direct/Reflecting Speaker Technology: The Direct/Reflecting speaker technology helps the compact cube speaker arrays deliver more open, spacious sound throughout the listening area. You hear enhanced surround sound and exceptionally lifelike stereo with a larger soundstage.
Cube Speaker Arrays: Each of the four cube speaker arrays features dual 2-1/2" wide-range Twiddlers. The top & bottom sections of the cube speaker arrays can be rotated to create room-filling sound patterns.
Horizontal Center Channel Speaker: Designed to visually complement flat-panel TV screens while delivering natural-sounding dialog & vocals. The horizontal center speaker uses the same dual 2-1/2" wide-range Twiddlers as the cube arrays.
Powered Acoustimass Module: The Acoustimass module uses a proprietary enclosure and patented technologies to produce deep, rich bass with clarity and balance. The powered Acoustimass module uses two 5-1/4" high-excursion paper cone woofers, each with a foam surround.
Integrated Signal Processing: The Bose patented integrated signal processing compensates for the human ear's reduced sensitivity to bass at low volumes. You hear the proper balance of deep bass, even at very low, late-night listening levels and dialogue continues to sound natural.
LFE Control: The LFE control increases or decreases the relative level of low-frequency effects on movie soundtracks.
Bass Level: The Bass control increases or decreases the bass level of the Acoustimass module.
Automatic System Protection Circuitry: When played at high volume, this system's automatic protection circuitry activates to prevent damage to the system from electrical stress or overload. When this happens you may notice a slight decrease in volume, which is normal.
Audio Input: The Acoustimass module is fitted with a 15-pin male jack for use with supplied system input cable; the other end of the system input cable has tinned wire that connects to the left front, right front, center, left rear and right rear speaker outputs & a mono male RCA plug that connects to the subwoofer output of the A/V receiver or amplifier.
Audio Output: The Acoustimass module also features 5 RCA jacks (Left Front, Right Front, Center, Left Rear, & Right Rear) that connect directly to the cube speaker arrays, using the supplied speaker cables.
Power Cord: The Acoustimass module Jack features a detachable 7.75' AC power cord.
Speaker Mounting: Each cube speaker array & the center channel speaker has a rear-mounted 5mm female threaded insert. The threaded inserts allow you to mount the speaker arrays using optional stands or wall-mount brackets.

Not too sure if that would work or not. you probably need to contact Bose for that answer. [ JOSEPH R Jan 26, 2015 ]
By face up I think you mean the front as depicted in the pictures being at the top. I would not suggest this. The back of the unit is where the cables attach and is rounded so it would be difficult. In addition this would probably effect the true base of the unit. I don't recommend modifying this unit as it was designed to perform as shown. You can however lay it on its side per Bose instructions, if preferred. I love my System. [ MIKE Jan 25, 2015 ]
The answer is no. See owners manual page 7 figure 3 under Powered Acoustimass Module [ JOHN J Jan 25, 2015 ]
No The wires are on the rear of the case [ STEVEN J Jan 25, 2015 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: We have many good receivers that will work well with the Bose speakers and Yamaha would be a great choice. I would suggest going with the RXV477. It has plenty of power, lots of inputs, and great sound quality. You can find it here: http://www.crutchfield.com/app/product/item/default.aspx?I=022RXV477 If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. If I understand your question. You are wanting to know if the AM5 Series iii speakers are best for stereo music listing. It depends on your music source (Equipment providing Audio to your speakers). If your source is only capable of outputting Stereo audio than I would purchase the AM5 Series. However, if you source is capable of providing Stereo audio, Video with 5.1, 6.1 audio or any other similar audio formate, I recommend the AM10 series speakers. [ JOHN J Jul 04, 2014 ]
Really use mine mostly for television. Music is pretty good I am sing a Sony amp. [ STEVEN J Jul 03, 2014 ]
Sound and clarity is great. Would like a little more volume at times, but I have these in a very large 30 x 18 room. Love the simplicity of hook up. [ JDOUGLAS Jul 03, 2014 ]
I have been very happy with this system. After wanting a Bose setup for years, I finally went for it. We also have the outdoor speakers set up with this system for our poolhouse! Our son loves chilling by the pool listening to the Bose. [ FOLSOM Jul 03, 2014 ]
Probably not. I'm sure there are audiophiles that can steer you right. But if you like Bose the next series up is much nicer. [ CYNTHIA L Jul 03, 2014 ]
You can use your in-wall wires, but you'll need to connect them to the bass module. [ Vincent Apr 09, 2014 ]
Louis, I had the same scenario. It is interesting how the large ribbon cable connects all the speakers to the sub. The wires then run through the sub back to your all outlet to connect to your speakers. The sound has a very natural sound and we are using the system in a large 30x18 room. I'd buy it again. [ JDOUGLAS Dec 18, 2013 ]
Not sure what your whole system might be so I will tell you what I have it that will Help. My system is driven by a Denon AVR 1612 Amp 5.1. For my Bose setup this works great for my application with great sound, ease of operation (nothing to change once I did the room evaluation by the Denon Menu. When I received my speakers it was purely plug and play with simple detailed instructions..Good Luck [ MIKE Dec 11, 2013 ]
Louis, If I understand your question, you have wiring currently located in your walls running to all the locations you plan on installing speakers. Your current wiring will work as long as it is a compatible gauge wire to match your present speakers. I think the wiring supplied with the speakers you ordered is 16 gauge, you can ask your Crutchfield adviser to be certain. If the wiring is compatible I do not see any issue with using the present wire. All you need to do is make sure you connect your speakers to your present wall terminal with the appropriate matting connectors. I purchased the recommended wall speaker mounts for my rear speakers and the recommended speaker stands for my front left and right speakers. I purchased the recommended center TV speaker mount for my center speaker located on my TV. [ JOHN J Dec 11, 2013 ]
Not knowing your in wall wording...not sure...but I'm thinking your wire will work..unless you have towers that you want to set up in bi-wire...if not ...any 2-sure should b fine...12 awg is best [ ROSS C Dec 10, 2013 ]
Sorry but mine used the original wires that came with the set and I do not have any in wall setup. Thank you [ CHARLES Dec 10, 2013 ]
Thank you [ Louis Dec 10, 2013 ]
system comes with it's own special wires and connectors to sub woofer that connects to all the speakers [ KENNETH L Dec 10, 2013 ]
The speaker wires in the walls stay the same. However, the speaker wires feed into the subwoofer and a special cable goes from the subwoofer to the receiver. [ JEFF Dec 10, 2013 ]
No u dont need anything if u have wires already hooked to wall just enjoy [ JAMES Dec 10, 2013 ]
