Bose Acoustimass 10, Series IV

I've lusted for this speaker system for quite awhile now, knew exactly what I was getting into with it and have absolutely no regrets. It fits our 13' x 18' media room well. It replaced an aging 5.1 system that required more real estate than necessary and was not HDMI compatible. So, the time was 'right' for an entire system replacement. I couldn't be happier with the floor space we've reclaimed. And we haven't sacrificed any sound quality. I don't understand some of the 'sour grapes' comments from other reviewers - perhaps they had problems that I didn't. I think that the Crutchfield team does a really superb job in interviewing and advising to help put a nice system together within the customer's budget....if ego will permit them to do so. I have nothing but good things to say about the experience and wouldn't do a single thing differently if I had to do it over again. System performance, price, delivery condition, delivery speed and followup are well above expectations, so kudos to Team Crutchfield!

You will not be disappointed once you hear your movies on your new Bose AM 10. I have this set up with the Denon AVR-2308CI and a Sony BDP-S350. I bought them all thru Crutchfields. The sound is great, it's exactly like having the movie theatre in your house. And the little speakers, oh my god, they truely accent your room. I couldn't be happier. Oh, and let's not forget Crutchfields!!! They are the best. Their customer and tech support holds true to their claim. I had alot of questions setting up my equipment and they were there to help every step of the way.

Sound is not accurate

Because of the size of the drivers, the frequency response on the satellites are terrible, as well as the sub. Uses cheap paper drivers on the satellite cubes. Accoustimass module attempts to compensate for lack of bass from the cubes, but fails. Bass can be muddy at times. Hooked them up to replace some Sony bookshelf speakers I have, but was disappointed. Bose has the ability to make a good product, but this isn't one of them.

I've owned my new speakers for about 3 weeks now. They sound absolutely terrific! I am using my Bose speakers with my new Onkyo TX-SR606S receiver, and they work great together. Using the receivers self calibrating feature worked perfectly, and I have had no complaints with the operation. The only problem I did have is that the wires seem to want to slip out of the back of the cube speakers with the slightest tug on the wires. The center speaker does not have this issue for me and the wires are held snug when I pull on them. I contacted Bose support, and they recommended using just a slight spray of WD-40 on the wire mechanism to ensure it is moving freely to grab the wires. I haven't tried this yet, I'm a little afraid to do it. But the lack of a good firm hold on the wire hasn't seemed to affect the sound quality.

Great Speakers

I've only hooked these speakers up temporarily with a brand new Onkyo 806 Receiver and it is simply amazing. I don't know if it's the Onkyo or the Bose but it's a match made in heaven. These speakers put out room (large room) filling sound and the volume still has 3/4th the way to go. The price seams a bit high but once you stack them up to other quality speakers it's actually a good deal.
