Product Research

Features

Add-On Bluetooth Adapter: The Bose Bluetooth audio adapter lets you add Bluetooth audio streaming capability to your home entertainment system which features a free optical digital or stereo analog input. Compatible Bluetooth-enabled devices include Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphones/tablets, Windows PC, Mac computer, Blackberry, and more.

Bluetooth Music Streaming: The Bose Bluetooth audio adapter features Bluetooth version 4.0 technology with support for A2DP audio streaming. You'll be able to stream stored music and music apps from your Bluetooth-enabled device to your connected home audio system. Bluetooth audio streaming has a range of up to 30'. You'll still use your Bluetooth-enabled device to control music playback functions and view song/artist information.

Note: If you are streaming music from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, a phone call interrupts your wireless audio and plays through your phone only. When the call ends, your music automatically resumes through the Bose Bluetooth adapter and your connected system.

aptX Compatible: The Bose Bluetooth audio adapter even employs aptX audio coding technology for lossless, audiophile-quality streaming from compatible aptX-enabled devices, like Android (OS 4.0+) smartphones & tablets.

Multi-Pairing: You can pair up to eight Bluetooth devices with the Bose Bluetooth audio adapter and keep an active connection with up to three at one time, so you can switch easily between your Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Bose Bluetooth audio adapter.

Digital + Analog Outputs: The Bose Bluetooth audio adapter connects to your home entertainment system via its optical (toslink) digital output or stereo minijack (3.5mm) analog output.

AC Power Adapter: The Bose Bluetooth audio adapter operates off of standard household current using the included AC power supply and microUSB-to-USB cable.

will this adapter, when plugged into my receiver, allow me to pair my bose bluetooth headphones to my receiver?

I haven't tried to do what he's describing. I connect 2 iPhones to the same speaker at the same time and it works great.
randy  Aug 22, 2016
A
No, I don't believe so. This device is only a receiver. It can not transmit to Bluetooth headphones.

Mine, purchased on 1/10/2015, works with my Wave Radio purchased on 8/10/2002.

Sorry, I do not know the answer. I do not use it with the Bose Wave system. I am using it with Bose Companion 3 Series 2.
tanya  Aug 17, 2016
A
Yes, that is what I have it connected to.

Q
Should this be compatible with a circa 1987 Technics amplifier? It seems like folks have connected this to non-Bose systems, but just checking.

A
I'm not sure. I suggest you contact Bose customer support.
jim  Dec 15, 2015
A
I think it will as it comes with 3.5 mm audio cable, 3.5 mm female-to-RCA cable if you don't have an optical input its only a receiver from your iPhone or other gadget.
ernesto  Dec 15, 2015
A
I don't know enough about Technics amplifiers to answer. It works very well with my computer and iPhone.
kathleen  Dec 15, 2015
A
As long as your amplifier has either RCA or 3.5mm stereo jack for "line-in", it will work. If it has the RCA jack (Right & Left separate jack), you need to buy the RCA male to 3.5mm male conversion cable.
tanya  Dec 15, 2015
A
I can't answer the specific Technics question ( I connected to a Bose product). I initially had trouble with set-up ( a faulty unit). But a Crutchfield advisor quickly got me a new one. It works great!
steve  Dec 14, 2015
A
I have mine connected to a non-bose system and it works fine.

i have not encounter that with my 321 system, ( latest model )
roberto  Jul 27, 2015
A
Not sure exactly, but mine sounded as good as any bluetooth transmitter I have heard. I think any decrease in sound quality is just part of the technology at this point.
steven  Jul 27, 2015
A
No, this product works well. Very little loss of sound quality.
terry l.  Jul 26, 2015
A
I have been very pleased with this product and the main reason is due to its ability to keep a solid signal with no noticeable loss in sound quality. I appreciate this product so much that I purchased a second one with plans on purchasing a third in the near future. I don't think you will be disappointed if you purchase this product.
kelly  Jul 25, 2015
A
There may be a slight loss of clarity throughout the range but it's minimal In my situation. I use to link a receiver yo my iTunes on the docks; the losses are aver shadowed by the surrounding noise. The signal starts to break up over about 30' away from the receiver; the better the line of sight, the better the signal.
thomas  Jul 25, 2015
A
I own one and have not heard any loss of the low end. I use it on a excellent and expensive speaker.
