Here's the best five-speaker entertainment system from Bose®. The Lifestyle® 535 Series II system lets you experience spacious 5.1 surround sound with all your movies, sports, TV shows, and video games. It features premium Jewel Cube® speakers and a hideaway Acoustimass® module to deliver theater-like performance without cluttering your living room. Best of all, this system is so intuitive, anyone can use it.
Bose Unify® technology makes it easy to connect and control up to six high-definition audio/video or music sources like Blu-ray players, cable boxes, and game consoles. Easy-to-follow on-screen menus guide your setup process and make everyday operation easier. Automatic video upscaling lets you send all connected video sources to your TV via a single HDMI connection at up to 1080p resolution. That means each source will look its best, and connecting your TV is as simple as possible. Plus, you can control your whole system using the included universal remote.
The Lifestyle® 535 system's tiny Jewel Cube® speakers blend into just about any decor, while the Acoustimass® module easily tucks away out of sight behind a couch or end table. No matter where you place the speakers, you'll be sure to get optimum performance, thanks to the ADAPTiQ® auto calibration system. This technology automatically optimizes the system's settings for your room's unique size, shape, and furnishings, in order to deliver consistently good sound throughout the room.
The Bose® Lifestyle® 535 Series II is the best 5-speaker entertainment system from Bose.
With the addition of an optional Bose® SoundTouch™ wireless adapter, your Bose® Lifestyle® 535 Series II system can connect to other SoundTouch™ systems to give you convenient whole-house audio. Stream Internet radio, Pandora®, and your music library wirelessly over your Wi-Fi® network. In "Play Everywhere" mode, your linked systems can play the same music simultaneously — great for parties. Or each system can play independently, giving you different music in different rooms.
Enjoy rich, robust sound that puts you right in the middle of your favorite movies, TV shows, and video games. Powered home theater systems come with speakers and a subwoofer plus the amplification to drive them. Many of these systems feature low-profile consoles and ultra-compact speakers for minimal visual clutter. Some include a built-in Blu-ray/DVD player for enjoying movie and concert discs.
If you buy this system you will be dissapointed. I have the SoundTouch 20 and the Lifesytle 535. I bought them so I could listen to music via Wifi throughout the house. I'm very disappointed. The SoundTouch application has only 5 preset stations, the system cannot stream music from Spotify, Beats or any other streaming system other than Pandora, you cannot connect using airplay, you can only connect to one ITunes music library, this is a serious flaw because the rest of your family cannot access their music. When I finally connected to my music library, I had to scroll though the names in an alphabetical order; there is no search for feature. If you have a large music library and you want to find a song or artist you need to scroll one page at a time until you finally get to the name. The connection to my router did not work. There is nothing remotely cutting edge. The connection to my other Bose system using Wifi is very difficult to navigate. I wired my house to I would have no problems but I wish I had a different system.
Pros: good sound
Cons: Terrible connectivity issues. super clunky interface
I have klipsch speakers and like them but they do take up space . I purchased the bose lifestyle 535 series ll and have to say that they are incredibly loud and clear awesome Surround sound speakers and makes alot of space in your home because of the speakers being so tiny :)
For its unparalleled sound clarity, this equipment delivers the best among its ranks. Great features and real value for money.
Pros: Superb sound clarity and theater effects. Easy to set up and operate from a single remote. Sleek design.
Cons: Massive cables
I downsized to a town home and had a big Klipsch/Denon System. I wasn't happy about how much room the tower speakers took up. They made my town home den too cluttered. I remembered in 1994 my wife and I bought the fisrt Bose Lifestyle System 12 and were amazed by it. So I went to the nearest Bose store to compare the 525 to the 535. After listening to both with my movies and DVDs the 535 was for me. After receiving it and fully setting this system up all I can say is I'm totally happy with the 535. Don't let those audiophiles sway you. Make up your own mind. Bose makes great products. My Klipsch my have a tad fuller sound but the 535 is amazing and blows away the Klipsch/Denon in surround mode. Auto room speaker equalizer does a perfect job. The on sceen interface with the remote is awesome. My wife learned the remote in minutes.
Pros: Comes with the best universal remote I've owned, Tumb drive software up dates, Size and Sound.
Cons: I feel like the receiver and bass module should come with a 3 year warranty.

Note: Each speaker has a single 5mm threaded insert for optional Bose or universal wall brackets (018UB20B, sold separately) or stands (018UFS20B, sold separately).
Horizontal Center-Channel Speaker: The horizontal center-channel speaker delivers natural sounding dialogue and vocals, while visually complimenting your flat panel TV screen. Acoustimass Module: The system's direct/reflecting dual-cube speakers work in concert with a hideaway Acoustimass module to deliver a fuller range of theater sound and effects. Exclusive technology in the module helps provide the emotional intensity you feel at the theater or in a concert hall. The system's Acoustimass module delivers the clarity of pure sound reproduction down to the lowest frequencies, even at the loudest levels. Because it eliminates audible distortion, you can place the Acoustimass module almost anywhere, even behind furniture, and all the sound will appear to come from the system's tiny cube speakers.
Note: When placing the Acoustimass module on bare floors, or other smooth surfaces, attach the included rubber feet to the bottom of the module for greater stability and to protect your floor. Bose ADAPTiQ Audio Calibration System: The home theater system's performance is customized to the acoustics of your room with the Bose ADAPTiQ audio calibration system. To perform a calibration you need about 10 minutes when the room is quiet. While wearing the special headset, the system will ask you to place yourself in five different locations (sitting or standing) in your listening area as the system takes measurements in each. Audio prompts from the system will guide you through the process.
Note: The special headset supplied with the ADAPTiQ system has no speakers, but special microphones designed to be worn above the ears. It enables you to take acoustic measurements in your room during the custom equalization process. The headset has an adjustable headband and a 28' cord terminating in a pair of stereo male RCA plugs.
