Get relief from ambient noise

Bose has long enjoyed a solid reputation for the quality and performance of their noise reducing headphones. Compared to earlier models, the QuietComfort® 15 headphones reduce more noise across a wider range of frequencies, thanks to advances the company has made in their proprietary Acoustic Noise Cancelling® technology. Quite simply, these are among the very best noise reduction headphones ever made.

Better noise cancellation with innovative Bose technology

The QuietComfort® 15 headphones feature microphones on both the outside and inside of each earcup that pick up the ambient sounds in your listening environment. Special circuitry inside the earcups then reacts instant by instant to produce an opposite, canceling signal. This circuitry efficiently minimizes unwanted external noises, so they don't interfere with the music from your portable player or the dialogue from in-flight movies.

The QuietComfort® 15 headphones also feature Bose's innovative TriPort® technology. It uses tiny vents in the earcups to produce a tonally balanced sound with deep, rich bass.

Take calls. Take control.

Bose includes a headphone cable made for select Apple products. A three-button remote control built into the cable lets you conveniently answer, end, and switch between phone calls, control the volume of your calls or music, and pause, play, or skip through your songs. You can even enjoy hands-free conversations on your iPhone®, thanks to the remote's built-in microphone. The microphone also lets you take advantage of the voice control feature found on many of the latest iPhone, iPod® and iPad® models. Just hold down the button and say your command.

Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones Enjoy peace and quiet while you travel.

A comfortable listening experience

The earcups feature a plush cushion material that feels great. Plus, their around-the-ear design helps further seal out distracting noises. An adjustable headband helps ensure comfortable listening for hours on end, making these headphones great for long trips. You also get convenient portability — the earcups fold flat for easy storage in the included carry case. The single-sided cord helps resist tangles, and you can even disconnect the cord altogether and just let the QuietComfort® 15 headphones wrap your ears in soothing, restful silence.

A great headset for a tremendous value.

The ultimate sound

Lori & Alex from Washington on 11/6/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My husband listens to his iPods while working, on planes, etc. I bought these for his birthday. He is SO excited to have them. He previously used Bose ear buds and was always wearing them out (I still have my first pair). We love the ear buds (I still wear mine) but the head phones are far superior, especially to any other head phones we've tried. The sound is magnificent! It just can't be compared to anything else out there. Thank you!!

Pros: Far superior quality of sound and cancels out other sounds, would be also perfect for plane trips. My husband is hard of hearing, these are perfect for him. He can listen as loud as he wants without killing my eardrums.

Cons: Can't wear to work in an office, too hard to conceal. LOL

Bose Best

Lala from Kailua Kona, Hawaii on 10/20/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was actually a gift for my husband. Decided to get him his own so that I didn't have to share on our next flight to the mainland. I bought the same Bose QC15 even though the QC25 was available because of the cost and quality I was already familiar with. Researched and decided I did not want the limitations of the wireless headphones and I didn't need the few extra features of the QC25. Plus the Crutchfield team was awesome with providing information that really helped.

Pros: Great for traveling. Cool protective case. Lightweight. Great price.

Cons: Not much to not like about this product. If I used it everyday then I'd probably have a concern with battery life.

Quiet Comfort for Commuting

T Mac D from Seattle on 10/4/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall I like them. Good to block our 90% of the background noise. I use them for vanpooling, back seat. They drown out most of the road noise. On soft volume (20-30 % range) I can still hear some background noise. Next notch up (30-50%) I hear the music and very little external noise. Single noise items such as door closing, truck horn, come thru as I believe they are not modeled for nullification since they are just a "one time noise". I thought I could hear the sound without turning them on - one downfall.

Pros: overall - good. like the attachable cord with the volume control comfort case is good to have

Cons: no sound unless the sound nullification is turned on.

How did I ever work without these?

Mike from Evanston, IL on 9/30/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I tried a few similar headphones by companies like JBL, Photive and Beats. None of them sounded as good or were as comfortable as these Bose. And none of them offered noise cancellation either. I love these headphones. I use them nearly all day, everyday at work. After four weeks I still haven't had to replace the battery. I wish that you could listen to music without turning them on but that's really not a big deal. The inline microphone half-way works with my Lumia 1520. The play/pause/track skip button works but the volume does not. I haven't tried the microphone yet but don't see why it wouldn't work.

Pros: Extremely lightweight

Cons: Must be turned on to listen to music, no full-featured, inline microphone for Windows phone

Bose quiet comfort 15 headphones

Steve from Grand Rapids, Mi. 49503 on 9/26/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this for my wife's birthday. Of course I had to verify the quiet factor. I installed the battery, nestled my ears into a comfortable position and flipped the switch. All T.V. sound terminated. I'd like to tell you I listened to my favorite tunes, but I didn't. I have tennites (ringing in the ears-like a million crickets). The sound deadening, however, lives up to all expectations.

Pros: Expensive

Cons: Should contain a lithium ion battery that you can recharge like your cell phone. I can't believe these babies cost $300.00 bucks and you have to replace a stupid battery every 4 to 8 hrs.

Noise reduction is good but doesn't tune out low frequencies...sound quality could be better. Kind of upset that the qc25 came out right after I bought these....will return them for the qc25s.

Has problems, but fixes make it excellent

Pete from Maryland on 9/12/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Bose QC-15 is excellent in noise reduction, but only fair in sound quality and comfort. Those shortcomings can be corrected, resulting in an excellent headphone. Noise cancellation: The Bose QC-15 was excellent in reducing external noise to near silence. I used them on two airplane flights, and the noise reduction was great.. Sound quality: The Bose QC-15 headphones have fair sound quality, but it can be improved with a little work. Out of the box, the phones had flat bass down to about 33 Hz. The phones sounded harsh, due to a 3dB peak at 3KHz. This can be somewhat corrected by using the equalizer in the mp3 player. The headphones are fairly insensitive to wind, and I was able to listen to music outside on breezy days with no problems. Comfort: The Bose QC-15 was not comfortable for me. I found that the headband pressed hard on the top peak of my head, making it sore. I added tapered foam pieces at the side, which distributed the pressure more evenly and that fixed the problem So I suggest you buy these phones from Crutchfield who will refund your money if you cannot make them comfortable. Out of the box these are three star headphones, but the fixes make them much better.

Pros: Noise reduction Not sensitive to wind

Cons: Sound quality Comfort

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I prefer the sound from my Beats Studio headphones, but the noise cancelling on the Bose is outstanding. I use them when mowing and doing other loud yard work. I tried several other brands hoping I could get a deal and still good noise canceling. After several failures, I caved and bought the Bose.

Pros: Noise cancelling with good sound.

Cons: Sound (IMO) not as good as Beats Studio headphones. Construction feels fragile vs. other brands.

Bose® QuietComfort® 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones

Glenn from Kentucky on 8/11/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall, the quality is what I would expect from Bose. I mainly purchased these to help drown out the background noise when I work (usually from home office), which would include when I listen to teleconference calls (but works as a listen-only mode on office phone; despite mini-jack adapter to fit my landline phone, the microphone on the cord does not function in this type of set-up--and the sound comes out from only one earpiece). However, it works great as a "2-way" plugged into my iPhone, which is just as described). Sudden, loud noises are not very muffled at all (likely a good thing, for safety sake) but constant, or monotone sounds become dampened quite well (white noise from lawnmowers, vacuum cleaners, distant conversations, etc). The purchase was well worth it, for my situation; very happy with it overall.

Pros: Adjustable, overall very comfortable headset; easy to use/store; high-quality acoustics when listening to music, as one expects of a Bose product.

Cons: After an hour or so of wear though, the muffs do make my ears/surrounding head rather hot, somewhat sweaty under the cushion part (though obviously will depend on surrounding temperature--in summer here, my office is usually in mid-70's range).

Ambient noise is nearly gone

Chuck from Sacramento, CA on 8/8/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

When I first put these on and turned them on the noise from the ceiling fan disappeared. I was impressed. I put them on in a quiet place and I could hear a very slight electronic white noise. In the gym all the noise from treadmills and the like were eliminated. Now for the sounds I want to hear my iPod tunes. Not impressed. Not much better than Bose earbuds I had before. I was expecting a little more spacious sound than I got for an over the ear headphone. Bass seemed rather weak. Having used and preferred Bose products since 1977 I was finally less than wowed by one of their products.

Pros: Ambient noise reduction

Cons: Sound quality not much better than earbuds.

Earphones!

Tony from Pittsboro on 8/7/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

They didn't sound that well when I first plugged them in, but after checking the settings on my laptop it was apparently set to full treble and lowest bass and it sounded very tinny. I couldn't tell before I got these earphones, the sound is much improved now. They don't do a total noise reduction, I have had much cheaper earphones perform similarly but then again, those didn't last very long. I hope these do. They are comfortable but not a perfect fit, after a while I want to take them off.

Pros: They perform well at everything but have room for improvement, considering the price.

Cons: Didn't come with an adapter for a full size connector to a regular amplifier (like Marantz),I had to order it separately.

Great Product!

bpottery from Fulton, MS on 8/4/2014

I have owned Bose headphones for several years. I see all the new brands flooding the market, but I am not convinced that they equal Bose technology. Since I have several Bose sound devices and I am very well pleased with each one, I think I will stay with my trusted friends, Bose. Can't beat them.

I have used noise cancelling headphones for the last 15 years or so and these for the price are the best that I have used. I will recommend them to all of my freind and co-workers.

Pros: great noise reduction, very comfortable for an over the ear headphones. fold to a reasonable compact size.

Cons: need longer plug to fit thru cell phone case.

Worth the price

DaveF from Colorado Springs, co on 7/19/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Two hour flight delay in the noisy St Louis Airport... Tune it all out and watch top gear. In flight in a small grounded commuter jet... Relax and listen to music at a comfortable volume. I previously had a pair of Sony noise reduction headphone. The reviews stated they were not quite as good as the Bose. I found they work pretty well. But, the Bose are simply much better. I am glad I spent the extra money. The current sale improves affordability.

Pros: Noise reduction Sound quality Construction quality Includes iphone capable cable with microphone and volume control Hard, protective case I prefer the replaceable batteries used in this model vs built in rechargeable battery.

Cons: Pricey Over ear design makes them slightly bulky

Pros: BACKGROUND NOISE REDUCTION - TO BLOCK OUT, RUDE NOISY BABBLING CO-WORKERS. HAS HI / LO INPUT SWITCH FOR USING WITH HIGH OUTPUT DEVICES - WORKS GREAT.

Cons: HAVEN'T FOUND ANY YET

BobM from Oviedo, FL on 6/29/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have not used these on a plane yet, will take them to Europe in a few weeks to test on an airplane. I did however test them in my pickup back seat with my aftermarket exhaust system and actually had to look at the instrument cluster at the TACH to make sure the truck engine was still going. I could not believe how quiet these phones were and yet very clear music sound.

Pros: Light weight, great at cancelling noise and clear music.

Cons: The access to the battery compartment needs some work for easier replacement of the battery.

Cons: None at this point.

Very good

CCC from Belmont, MA on 5/17/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was very pleasantly surprised. I had never before owned _good_ high-fidelity headphones, much less noise-canceling 'phones. I was skeptical, but I took a chance because I trusted Crutchfield's guarantee. They sound wonderful -- better than I expected -- and the noise cancellation is very effective, again better than I expected. I have fastened my tiny iPod shuffle to the headband just above the left earphone, and fastened the cable such that nothing dangles. I walk regularly for exercise; and, when I do, I wear this rig and listen to what I've loaded in the iPod. BTW, I found it necessary to use the Equalizer that's built into Apple's iTunes application, and to save an equalized version of each audio file I intend to load into the iPod for playing through these 'phones. Music that sounds fine when played through my audioengine 5+ speakers without custom equalization does NOT sound good through there 'phones unless I have applied appropriate equalization. WITH appropriate equalization, music sounds better in these 'phones than through my speakers.

Pros: Excellent sound quality (with equalization); very effective (good enough for me) noise cancellation; light weight; and requires just one AAA cell, which lasts a long time.

Cons: 1. It's not waterproof, so I can't wear it in the rain. Also, I fear that my oily salty sweat will ruin its nice cushions. 2. It is not designed for anything to be attached. I wish my iPod could be attached to it more easily and neatly. Also, I'd like to be able to attach a security cable to it, so it weren't so likely to be stolen if left it unattended for a little while.

Cons: Only wired access No sound left when battery is empty

Bose® QuietComfort® 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones

CJ from Minneapolis MN on 5/6/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great for cancelling some of the clean room blower noise, environmental chamber noise.

Pros: Fits comfortably over the head and covers the ears nicely.

Cons: Doesn't cancel out all noise, but what it cancels out makes it much more tolerable in an environment with white noise.

Excellent on planes

Anonymous from New York, NY on 4/2/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I can only speak to using these headphones for listening to music or movies during flights, but for that purpose they work very well, eliminating almost all of the "droning" and allowing a great listening experience without the need to crank up the volume unreasonably high just to hear your content over the noise of the plane. I much prefer these to the on-ear model but that is likely a matter of personal preference. Would recommend without hesitation.

Pros: Very comfortable, good sound, great for in-flight entertainment

Cons: Little pricey, somewhat large to carry around (though the included carry case is done very well)

Bose headphones

jmsmith3 from Southern California on 3/1/2014

I received these for a Christmas present and they replaced a pair that was 10 years old. The quality is excellent in every respect but I am having a hard time with the battery feature. My old ones did take a battery so I have to get use to it. You also have to turn them on and that means turn them off when not using them. This is what I forget to do and of course they are stone dead when I go to use them the next time. For a few more dollars, I suggest you get the one that has the rechargeable battery..

Pros: Excellent sound quality and noise reduction is superior. They are very comfortable and come with a hard case for traveling.

Cons: The battery drains fast if you are someone like me who forgets to turn it off when done using them.

Great sound from bose

Yas from Queens, NY on 1/23/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My first pair of Bose noise cancellation headphones have indeed delivered their promise of fantastic sound. The noise cancellation feature is the best i've experienced. Compared to the beats cancellation the Bose's are vastly superior. when you switch them on you clearly tell that sound from the outside is being reduced but not completely gone.Though i will say depending on what is making the sound you wont hear it and this is without music going. Sound Profile of these i would say is they are more on the bass heavy side but clarity is not lost either. They require one AAA battery to fully function. The wire for me is too long ,six feet long. I find too often walking around my house i snag the line and the jack is yanked out the left side of the headphone. Something like 4 feet sounds better

Pros: Very light for the size Battery life is quite long Inline mic with controls for IOS fully functioning

Cons: The jack wire is too long would've liked if the travel case was hard plastic inline mic controls not fully functioning for android 4.4

Quality Product

EdH from St. Peters, MO on 1/22/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Quality of the sound was everything I expected. I really liked how the cable plugged and unplugged from the headset which will make it easy to replace if I break the cable. The quality of the phone calls when connected to my iPhone was a nice surprise. i have asked for comments for the person on the other end and they were very happy with the quality as well. Way better than my Pro Plantronics blue tooth adapter.

Pros: Comfort and quality sound

Cons: They don't work without a working battery and being turned on. I just carry a spare battery with me.

Bose QuietComfort 15

Tom K. from Mission Viejo, CA on 1/11/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these headphones solely on the basis of online reviews and in regards to other Bose products I own. The construction is lightweight and they are very comfortable. I really like the 2 different cables that come standard with the QC 15s. One has an available mic. and volume control option and there's also an attachment for use in airplanes. The other great feature about the cables is if they become detached on one of the ends, you can easily purchase a replacement pair at a fraction of the cost for a new set of headphones. The sound quality is crystal clear and I can hear ambient sounds on films I couldn't pick up earlier. And in that regard it's like watching a BR movie for the first time. I've haven't tested the noise canceling on other headphones but these seem to work just fine. My only complaint is a dead battery will render the headphones useless. The headphones should be able to work without the noise canceling feature if the battery died but that doesn't seem to be the case. Perhaps it's something Bose could develop in future headphone models. The QC15's are excellent noise canceling headphones and they live up to the quality, reputation, and "ahem" price that Bose is known for.

Pros: Excellent sound quality, comfort, multiple cables, and convenient carrying case.

Cons: A dead battery will render the headphones useless.

JimD from Belle,WV on 12/23/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For me they are very comfortable and don't irritate my ears like earbuds do . Makes my old music that I transfered from my records sound just as I remembered them from years ago. The quality of my record albums sound clear again which I was unable to hear using other headphones. Subtle background music came in clear. No instrument over powered the others unless orginally in the recording. I love these headphones!! The around the ear and noise cancelling features work great...the wife had to hit me with an object to get my attention - I couldn't hear her. Power switch must be on to use and be sure to turn them off when finished using them to conserve the battery.

Excellent sound and Significant Noise Reduction

Phil from Boston, MA on 11/29/2013

They may not look as cool as certain other trendy brands on the market now, and they are a bit bulky for everyday use on the train while commuting or at work, but they are perfect for air travel. They block out substantially all engine and wind noise any make long flights much more bearable. Music and movies sound great on them too. Well worth it.

Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Nois Camcelling headphones

Stay Informed from Tucker, GA on 10/1/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Quiet Comfort 15 eliminates all engine noise and road noise made by my old truck. It allows me to listen to books on tape at a low volume. When camping all sounds of annoying generators are eliminated. Very pleased.

Pros: Replacement ear pads are available.

Cons: Would like a cord that would reach from front pocket to headphone, without having to roll the remaining cord in a circle and securing with a twist tie.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I thought this noise canceling headset would solve my issues with noise reduction. I was looking for noise canceling that would cancel voice noise from TV, but it doesn't. When people in my house are talking and I don't wan'I to hear it I try to block there speaking, so I put these Bose QC15, voice noise gets in. I also noticed on the sound quality which is very good, but if you ever tried Sony Headphones, with the 40mm driver, you will be blown away at how much better the sound is in the mid range and especially the bass range. I'm going to try Sony's new Noise canceling headphones when they come out this Oct 15th, 2013

Pros: good for blocking a steady noise like air conditioner fans. Comes with a good carrying case to protect. Almost feels good wearing them

Cons: not good for blocking voice noise. Does not have good music quality. It sounds good, but just too flat of a sound. If you want really excellent sound try Sony.

I been using Bose product for over 20 years. I just get the QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones few weeks ago. They are really good, the sound quality is terrific, nice bass and treble. Also they are really comfort for long hours of use.

Bose QuietComfort 15 Rocks!

RobP from Clemmons, NC on 9/8/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After hearing some friends' sets of QC 15s, which they, being frequent flyers, purchased for their use while flying, I knew it was time to replace my old set of headphones. The Bose, while not the most comfortable headphones I've ever put on, are the most comfortable pair I've ever owned. Their dynamic range is fantastic, and the bass response is clear and strong, but not overbearing. But, of course, their claim to fame - the noise-cancelling feature - is unmatched. The moment I saw that Crutchfield had placed the Bose QC 15s on sale, I went online and placed my order; and, as I expected, they arrived in just a couple of days. Thanks, Crutchfield, for making it happen for me - again.

Pros: Noise reduction lives up to its claims. Sound is full and spacious.

Cons: Ear cushions could be fuller and a bit more comfortable,

Got What I Wanted

Brad from Raleigh, NC on 9/1/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These headphones do exactly what they're supposed to do, that being "cancel" noise. While wearing these, any static noise is filtered out. I can hear voices occasionally if the music volume is very low but I'd almost prefer that in case someone is screaming my name at work. Very comfortable, haven't had to change the batteries with a couple weeks of frequent use, and they look sleek and clean. Maybe not the most top tier audio quality, but that's not why I bought these. Still a very satisfied customer!

Pros: -Comfortable -Block noise well -Ease of use -Good looking product

Cons: -Not "top tier" audio quality

Larry from Los Angeles, CA on 8/30/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I held off on buying the Bose set as I thought my well sealed earplugs were good enough, but after trying out a friends set on a flight I was sold. I compared the QC15s against other sets in store displays including Beats Executive, Audio Technica and Sony models and the Bose was the most comfortable and provided the most effective noise reduction.

Pros: Comfortable, best noise reduction, decent sound quality

Cons: Build seems a bit cheap for the price. Good thing they come with a hard case or they would probably get broken sooner than later.

great for planes

Susan from Massachusetts on 7/26/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these on the advise of my brother in law who loves his. Every year after a long plane flight, I consider them then decide that they are too much money. I have trouble hearing the movie over the plane noise and I can't sleep due to the loud constant noise. My husband convinced me to use our credit card rewards dollars. I borrowed my brother in laws and used the tractor to mow the lawn. While my music was playing, I had to lift them up to make sure the mower did not stall. I was convinced that this would make for a worthwhile purchase after that. The purchase was so worth it. I love these! I used them for music on the plane as well as watching several movies (no adaptor was needed). It drastically reduced the plane noise. It only muffles the voices nearby but with music on, It was not bothersome at all. They were very comfortable and fit perfectly on both my ears and head. While travelling, they fit in a hard, protective case which holds adaptors and spare batteries. The case is a bit big but worth the space in my carryon . As a 47 year old woman, I was a bit concerned about looking silly but these seemed age/gender neutral. Once on, I really didn't care, I just wanted a nice plane ride and some sleep. Mission accomplished! Crutchfield is a great company to work with. We have ordered many items through them and they have great customer service, and quality products. These arrived in a few days with free shipping.

Pros: comfortable, great sound

Cons: a bit bulky to wear and store away (but worth it to me for a plane ride)

Ideal noise cancelling audio headset

franko from hawaii on 7/7/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wasn't initially going to purchase this headset but I've been flying a lot lately so my wife decided for me that since I've been wanting to replace my old noise reducing earbuds that I should get these for father's day. What a wise spouse I have. These headphones are sooooo much better than the sony noise cancelling ear buds I had been using. The demo in the Bose shops didn't seem relevant but now after using them in an airplane I see why they do the simulated airplane noise test. It's so applicable! The over ear cans are so comfortable, after 6 hours, no pressure in my ears and no discomfort at all. Sound is wonderful. These are highly recommended for anyone who wants to get rid of distracting noise. Now I'm using them in my office and it allows me to study since the AC hum has gone away. I should have bought them sooner and not have been afraid of the price. You truly get what you pay for.

Pros: extremely good noise cancellation - airplane, office, it doesn't matter. They allow you to concentrate on the audio or just think.

Cons: The limitation of having to turn them on to get any sound from the source is a minor disadvantage. Really confused me initially when I forgot this and kept trying to fiddle with the source volume controls to get any sound.

Cons: Audio quality is good, but not at the same level as comparably priced purpose built audio only headphones.

I demoed a lot of other noise cancelling headphones, and kept coming back to the Bose QuietComfort 15. They are not as bulky as some of the "cooler" full size phones out now, and the noise cancellation is second to none. This is my 3rd pair of Bose headphones, as I keep wearing them out! I will definitely recommend to anyone who appreciates quality and the Bose level of engineering their products.

Pros: Size, light weight (for full size), noice cancellation, folding design, case included, in-line mic

Cons: Can't think of any.

This is my second pair of these headphones (thanks, person who did not return the first pair when left on a flight!). I travel about 100K airmiles a year and these make the trip MUCH more bearable. The sound quality is good, the noise cancelling excellent (especially aircraft noise) and they are very comfortable over long periods.

Pros: Good build quality, sound and noise reduction.

They work well. What else do you need to know? The flight was from London to Houston sitting in the back behind the engines. Connected to an older iPod. Sometime late in the flight, I put these on my wife's ears (she normally uses ear buds). Her reaction was "I want a set of these". Comfortable for 10 hours continuous wearing. Like I said, they work well.

Pros: Noise reduction. Quietness. Easy to use. Music quality very good. Lightweight. Comfortable.

Cons: No "coolness" factor.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased for use on my CAT excavator and JD Tractor to provide ear protection and be able to hear the radio clearly at a reasonable volume. The Bose noise canceling ability is excellent, When you turn them on the rumble of the engine, even at wide open throttle, goes away! When not plugged in to the radio, there is no hiss - the world just gets quiet and my ears are safe! These headphones replaced defective Koss headphones also purchased from Crutchfield, Crutchfield's support team is excellent. They went out of their way to get me set up with a good set of headphones!

Pros: Excellent noise canceling ability. Comfortable but slightly loose fit. Very sophisticated looking headphones.

Cons: Not as rugged as some others, slightly loose fit, Designed for the passenger compartment on a commercial airline. I would like slightly larger ear muffs but these work ok. They are more expensive that the Koss headphones which they replaced. Unfortunately, the Koss headphones didn't work. Two year warranty with some strings attached. A bit too expensive. They tend to "pop" with pressure changes in the cab when traveling over rough ground on the tractor.

Roger from Jamaica Plain, MA on 3/25/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

You can get better sound for $100 less. If you just want to listen to music, don't bother with these. However, if you want noise reduction, these do the job. I've used them on planes and trains, in bed with someone who snores really loud, etc. I've tried several other n-r phones, just as pricey, that don't do nearly as well. Also, while parts of this seem flimsy, I've slept with them and subjected them to a lot of strain, and no problems. The detachable cord allows you to pull the cord out without damaging anything. Good batteries last 30-40 hours.

Pros: Noise reduction, well built, comfortable

Cons: Sound quality is not that great.

Silent Treatment: Sometimes a good thing

Bill L from Spokane, WA on 3/17/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Though these do not cancel ALL external sound, they are excellent almost-noise cancelers. Equally amazing, they are full-size headsets that are actually comfortable for extended periods. Sound quality is excellent for the classical music that I use them for. The rotating earpieces allow for a quite compact case that still has room for the accessories and some spare batteries. And speaking of batteries, the single AAA cell lasts a looong time. I'm up to around 15 hours so far on the first battery. Headphone technology at its refined best.

Pros: Great sound, enhanced with reduced external noise interference. Quite comfortable for ear-surrounding headphones. Takes away airline drone.

Cons: Noise reducing but not noise cancelling

Best sound. Ever

Jimbo from Florida on 12/15/2012

Owned 1 year. Only real gripe is build quality. I am careful and have no issues, but suspect road warriors would be eventually disappointed. I think some of the fragility is due to concerted effort to cut weight. If you can manage this concern, I must say this gives the most clean, natural, balanced sound ever, ever in anything outside THX certified environment. Will state I am not fan of artificially jacked up bass that some headphones promote. With QC15's you hear music as intended, including low bass. Classical is purest ever. The lightweight allows me to wear comfortably for hours at a time. Closed design may make your ears warm in summer. NC is best in under $301 group, have tried many brands with same music. As far as complaints about not running without a battery, how much trouble is it to put a couple spare AAA in the case? In the end headphones or earbuds represent a compromise of our evolutionary bodies being conformed to modern environment like airline headrests. You need to pick what compromise you can live with. I have never been a fan of Bose finding them overpriced, but am open minded enough to recommend these heartily. If it lasts I would consider them to be an excellent value.

Pros: Weight, natural sound, acceptable battery life

Cons: Fragile, cost. I wish there were earbud version for working out.

The ABSOLUTE best headphones on the planet!!

JerryD from Virginia Beach, VA on 12/4/2012

While everyone else wants to style and profile in the other faddish and colorful brand name headphones, nothing compares to the sonic purity, noise canceling ability, and brand excellence of the Bose QC-15s. First, Bose has always been synonymous with high quality sound reproduction and their reputation precedes them. Second, I've owned several Bose products in the past, including other models of headphones, and I've never been disappointed. And finally, I did a side by side comparison with the other popular brands and it was no competition. The others were very bass heavy (I guess that's what all the kids like-thumping bass) with very little emphasis on overall sound equalization, and the noise cancellation feature couldn't compare whatsoever. If you want to look faddish and cool like all the popular atheletes sporting big, bulky headphones, go right ahead. But if you want the best features from headphones such as quality sound, noise cancellation, and reliable performance and comfort, Bose is no doubt the answer. And by the way, they look cool also.

Pros: Superb external noise elimnation, excellent sound, comfort.

Cons: None

I have been looking for a pair of headphones for long time that I could wear on the plane so I could watch movies and listen to music. I tried a couple of different types of earbuds with no luck. The engine was just too loud and I couldn't hear all the dialogue very well. I finally had to give in and pay big bucks for these headphones. The price is outrageous, but I just couldn't stand sitting on a plane for 3 or 4 hours without some type of entertainment. The sound was really good and almost all the engine noise was blocked out. I could however hear (very well) the people sitting around me having a conversation. Somehow it doesn't block out this noise. But that is easy to tune out. i have only had the headphones for one trip, but I was glad that I had them.

I'm a college baseball player who was looking for the perfect pair of headphones to use while on the road for the right price. I set my spending limit at $300. I was strongly debating between a pair of these headphones and the Dre Beats. After listening to both pairs of headphones there wasn't any comparison. If your looking for the best headphones in the under $300 range then these are the what you need! My top concern was noise reduction, these headphones are phenomenal! The beats tone your surroundings out by using a very heavy bass, which is really the only Pro of those headphones. These QC 15's literally eliminate any outside sound without even needing music! The bass was very impressive, and the mid's and high's are very crisp. These came fully equipped with a very good case, manual, and extra chords. These are the best headphones you can buy!

Zedj from GA, US on 6/6/2012

I exchanged the Beats by Dre Studios for these today as Monster has decreases the amount of bass on Beats and that's what i wanted. I have to say the bass and sound cancellation is better than the Studios on the QC15's but the sound quality is not as good as the Studios. If i were to recommend one or the other it would honestly depend on a lot of factors. If you were to buy used Studios that were made before the last few months then i would much rather have them. But if you want to buy new then i would reccomend buying the Bose, it all depends.

Pros: Great Sound Cancellation Good Bass Good for Acoustic Music

Cons: Not good for rap Not the best sound quality

Bose QuietComfort 15 Noise Cancelling Headphones

AndyB from Long Island, NY on 5/17/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've thought for years about getting these for use on flights, but finally decided to get them to help my concentration (as I work from home) when my teenage son comes home from school and TURNS UP his music in the next room. I thought about getting the smaller (on-ear instead of over-ear) version, but I'm very happy with this choice as I found it not to be as large as I imagined they'd be. Once turned on, you can definitely hear the noise cancelling at work. I'm an engineer, and thought it would silence the noise like an anechoic chamber does, but while it won't silence the noise, it does reduce it considerably. When I plug it into my iPhone to listen to music, the cord is long enough with the iPhone on my belt. But when I plug it into my TV, I'd wish they had a wireless option... maybe they will in the future. I might try adding a wireless bluetooth transmitter, receiver combination. That would be a great accessory for Crutchfield to offer.

Pros: Reduces background noise and sound considerably. Comfortable over-ear fit.

Cons: Doesn't completely silence the noise, but then I doubt any compeitive brand does either. Wish it had a wireless (cordless) optional accessory, or at least came with a few feet longer cord.

This is the ideal headphone set for use with electronic devices such as the iPhone and iPad. I also plan to use this product on road trips and airline travel. I bought the Bose QC15 Noise Cancelling headphones after viewing the Crutchfield video online. The user claimed he could mow the lawn while listening to rock and blues music. Crutchfield is my preferred choice of vendors for its excellent customer service, prompt delivery, and careful packaging.

Pros: Noise reducing, Comfortable, Terrific sound quality, Ideal for use with iPad and iPhone

Cons: None I can think of

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These headphones do a great job of reducing ambient noise as well as do a wonderful job of reproducing stereo sound that is pleasant to listen to even at low volumes. However the ear cups are a bit small and after a couple hours of listening at work, my ears began to get sore.

Pros: Great sound, noise cancelling ability, easy to store

Cons: Ear cups need to be a bit larger. Maybe I just have big ears!

These headphones are the best that I have ever owned, the quality of sound and noise canceling is great. I also own a pair of Dr Dre Studio headphones and the Bose far outweigh the noise canceling of the Monsters. Money well spent.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the Dr. Dre Beats from a local big box store. They have great sound quality with good base. Although these had great sound, I really like my music loud and thought the noise leakage might be too much for the person sitting next to me on a plane. I ended up returning these and bought the Sennheiser PXC-415's as they received excellent reviews. The Sennheiser's were very well built, however, when comparing the Sennheisers to the Bose QC-15's on the same source, I noticed the bass was just not there on the Sennheisers. I returned them and now have the Bose QC-15's that I am very satisfied with.

Pros: Good seal around ear. Comfortable Lightweight When you put these on, the noise canceling feature is better than the Beats or the Sennheisers. Nice blend of treble & bass

Cons: Like all Bose products - very expensive.

I have tried Beats by Dre Pro Studio, Sync by 50, and many other over the ear headphones. These are absolutely better than any other headphone out there. The clarity, bass, lo's and hi's are amazing. The noise cancelling makes everything even better. No other headphone out can compete. The comfort feels amazing and extremely light on your head. The headphones also fit well and snug unlike the Sync.

Pros: Sound quality, comfort, folds, small case

Cons: bose wires cant compete with Beats no tangle wires. Only works with the AAA battery, so if your battery dies, you cant use the headphones.

Bose has always been a great brand and you get what you pay for with Bose. No different here with these headphones. They are definitely "noise cancelling" as once they get over your ears you hear nothing else except your music. They are comfortable and do not squeeze your ear. A great product!

Pros: Fit, noise cancelling, sound quality

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I knew these were going to be good for the airplane but was still blown away when first tried them on a 4 hour flight. Without music playing they not only almost completely eliminate the engine noises but you can actually here the announcements that are usually so muffled you have no idea what was just said. While voice are muffled, you can actually here someone talking to you pretty well as long as you arent playong audio. When I played music I realized that my iPad CAN sound good. I'll never fly without them again, they are worth every penny. Oh,and these are the most comfortable headphones I've ever used.

Pros: Best noise reduction out there iPhone mic worked well Very comfortable

Cons: Pricey but worth every penny Won't work at all without battery so pack an extra

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Have never before owned a pair of noise canceling headphones so was not sure what to expect. Since they are Bose, I really like Bose equipment, I figured that they would likely be very good. The sound quality of them are incredible. I use them with my I Pod and they sound better than any headphones I have ever heard. Since I was expecting a total cancellation of all ambient noise, I was a bit disappointed. However, after trying some of the high dollar Sennheiser noise canceling headphones, I discovered that the Bose are far superior. The only complaint that I have about them is the microphone used for phone calls. It picks up too much. I have had several people on the other end tell me they were having trouble hearing me. If I am in a quite room, there is no problem. If I am in the car, people have trouble hearing me. I have yet to have Siri understand me when I am using these headphones. Overall, these are very good headphones.

Pros: Sound quality is outstanding.

Cons: The mic does not work very well.

The sound and the noise reduction is awesome but the quality of the plastic lower part of the headset on each side leaves a lot to be desired. -- the plastic just above the pivot point cracked and eventually broke on both sides of my headset. I fixed it with superglue twice but am now having to buy a new pair--the headset still works but the plastic is so broken that i can't wear them---Bose did offer me a new set at a reduced price which is good but given that I am convinced that this is a defect that I am sure others will experience it would be nice to have been given a replacement--and I would hope that they would have redesigned the plastic piece. Second for something costing as much as this does , a volume control should be on both ears--some peoples hearing is different one ear to another. (mine has no volume control on the headset at all).

BobT from Louisville, KY on 7/29/2011

I expected the best and was not disappointed! They come with the required battery! I called several of my workmates over and all of them just said, "Wow!" Their eyes lit up. I guess mine did, too, but I wasn't looking in the mirror. They fit perfectly and are comfortable to wear throughout the entire day. I take them off occasionally to speak with my team member. I have a 2' x 4' air intake nearby (size of dropped ceiling tiles) and while it isn't all that bad these phones really make my world a lot nicer to work in. The included cord lets me plug into my computer to hear Slacker or Pandora (internet radios). The cord is a little short but the ads say these are designed more for the airplane traveler so that's okay. There is also an airplane adapter and it all fits in a fantastic case. The cord is removable from the headphones and is fairly easy to insert without removing them. What's unusual is there is a switch for Low or High volume, but you have to remove the cord from the phones to change it as it is inside them once plugged in. The only thing I might suggest is a volume control actually on the left cup (where the cord plugs in) or in the cord near it. But this is just a minor issue to me. The phones rotate so they fit flat for storage and they are easy to transport. Overall - TOP NOTCH! I'm 100% glad I bought them.

Pros:

Cons:

Good N/C..but

Jeffrey from Phoenix,AZ on 7/1/2011

Audio quality *** Noise cancelling efficacy **** Durability *** Cost/Value *** Overall rating: ***1/2 The Bose QC15 headphones have the best noise cancelling, but durability is not so good. Used regulary for 1-2 years and the materials used will have begun to deteriorate. The Audio Technica noise cancelling headphones have slightly less effective noise cancelling but better sound quality vs the Bose QC15 if balance and a more natural bass (less exaggerated) is important to you. The Audio Technica are no better than the Bose QC15 in terms of durability, however the Audio Technica headphones are half the price of the Bose. The best noise cancelling headphones for durabilty are the Sennheiser's which kill the Bose and Audio Technica in terms of sound quality, but the Sennheiser's lag behind both the Bose and Audio Technica in the efficacy of their noise cancelling effectiveness.

I have yet to use these on a plane, but I suspect they will be excellent. Why? I tried them out on my back porch with a large ceiling fan. I turned them on & they totally blocked out the fan sound. The audio seems excellent, but my hearing is so poor I am a bad one to ask. I just listen to podcasts & these are fine.

Fred from Gainesville, FL on 6/20/2011

Love these headphones so far. Been using them at work now for 3 weeks or so. Does a good job at blocking out co-workers conversations and other noises around the office. Not so noise cancelling that I can't hear my phone ring, which is a good thing. Didn't realize you had to have a battery in to even listen to music but that really should be that big of a deal. A single AAA battery has latest a long time so far. I can just keep a few extra in the case, which by the way, is very nice. They seemed to be on the expensive side, but I feel they have been worth the money. Super comfortable. Glad I went with these instead of the on-ear model.

Bose® QuietComfort® 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones

Brigitte from Cottage Grove, OR on 5/28/2011

These are THE headphones you are looking for if you want to block out ambient noise and have a comfortable listening experience to your ipod/music player. They do NOT block out people's voices, only ambient noise, so be aware of this if you are buying them for this purpose. I use them on the bus to work and they completely shut out all the bus mechanical/traffic sounds, allowing me to read and listen to music in peace. Highly recommended, as is ordering them from Crutchfield - their service (from order confirmation to shipping and delivery) was the fastest and most customer-friendly I have ever encountered (and I do most of my purchasing online).

Pros:

Cons:

GREAT headphones!

Robert from New York, NY on 5/28/2011

It took me almost a year to decide to purchase these. My only regret is that I waited so long! On long flights it is a joy to listen to music or soundtracks at regular sound levels. Cutting out so much ambient noise also cuts down on the fatigue factor when flying. They also work well (without the cord) dampening the noise of the New York subway - a definite bonus! Crutchfield service was exemplary.

Pros:

Cons:

Great headphones.

Ian D from Seattle, WA on 5/27/2011

I am like everyone else who was scared to spend $300 on these. however after a 14 hour plane journey to Europe, it was worth it. I was able to listen to my ipod or have complete quiet on the plane for a change. it was great! Sure, I wish they were cheaper, but that's Bose. I would recommend these to frequent flyers anytime. So far the AAA battery has lasted over 30 hours and is still going strong.

Pros:

Cons:

Not What I Was Expecting

MaryH from Rockville, MD on 5/14/2011

When my parents bought me these headphones they were for blocking out all noises when I'm having an anxiety attack, so that even if I can't be alone, I would at least not have to hear the conversations and noises around me. While the headphones do block out some background noise (not all as proven by 20 hours in a RV), they do not block out any voices, even those coming from the next room. I was even able to have conversations with people with the headphones on. I really expected more from Bose and this product.

Pros:

Cons:

Too Good

DaveF from Affton, MO on 5/2/2011

Received the headphones via UPS within the time stated for delivery. These headphones have enough range that I can hear that my ITunes does not give a duplicate of the copy from the CD. However when listening to the CD I find that I have missed part of the musical experience as my previous headphones and stereo speakers do not have enough range to do justice to the artists work. The only disappointment that I have is that I had expected the headphones to completely cancel out external noise. The listening experience still deserves a 5 star rating

Pleased so far

Phil from Pennsylvania on 3/31/2011

I never ever thought that I would cough up this much for a pair of headphones in my life, but I'm glad I did. I work in a distribution center with a very loud PA system that FM radio is played through. I recently moved to a new office in a part of the building that has 6 loud speakers within a stones throw of my office, the high pitched noise that was made worse by awful commercials was too much for me to handle, I started going home with headaches. After a filed attempt to get some of the speakers removed I turned to these headphone. I have been using them for 2-3 weeks now and it is amazing how well they shut out the noise even when I'm not listing to any music through them. After sitting with these on for a few hours it almost hurts my ears when I take them off and get bombarded by the loud speakers again. They feel pretty comfortable on my head and ear. I don't like wearing hats or sun glasses or anything else on my head but these don't seem to bother me much and after sitting for a while I don't notice them hardly at all. Audio quality seem good, I'm not a specialist or anything but the bass in rap sounds good and deep and the highs in rock music sound equally as good. I feel that I got my moneys worth on these and they probably saved my career and my sanity.

Pros:

Cons:

Quite good, but........

RonW from Watertown, WI on 3/16/2011

These headphones had great build quality, were very comfortable, and their noise cancellation was fine. The only complaint I have is that they could have better audio performance for the $300 price. I primarily listen to jazz and classical music, and when a passage gets "complex" with a lot of instruments or vocals at the same time, the QC15's clarity suffers. It sounds a bit too "jumbled up". I have a pair of Sennheiser HD590's, that handle my music much better at $250 ( but they're not noise cancelling), so that's why I tried the Bose. They're pretty good...........but no cigar!!

Ironman1988 from APO, AE on 3/9/2011

GREAT noise cancellation - everything I hoped for. I'm not goingt to say I was completely blown away by the sound quality (not that there was anything wrong with it, it just didn't sound any better than my regular headphones) but then again I am by far NOT an expert. Definitely a good buy though for the noise cancellation, and that's what I wanted.

Bob from Providence RI on 3/7/2011

I soley use these for music from my pc althogh I do use a fiber optical to my home theater and plug the headphones into that, so the sound is awesome without rocking the house. Great for watching late night tv too. Only drawback is I should have bought the set with the rechargable battery and 1 AAA battery doesn't last long when you use them daily but great product

Pros:

Cons:

After LOTS of searching and trying...

MikeL from Fayetteville, AR on 3/5/2011

I tried the AE2 first, and they just sounded too thin and too bright for me. Gave the Klipsch Image Ones a shot and they sounded really good, especially for the money, but on ear just wore me out after a few hours. Same was true for B&W P5s. They sounded awesome and the cool factor was high, but the pressure on my head (large "heed") was too much for the price. Next were the Dre Beats. Booming for sure, but construction and sound a bit out of balance for the $$$. I used to think the QC15 would make me motion sick. I am so glad I tried these. They are keepers. The around ear comfort is great. They can make your head warm after hours of use, but any set is going to do that. The balanced sound is what I really wanted. The bass is not wimpy by any means, but it also doesn't linger over the crisp highs. Sure, I think they should be about $100 cheaper, but with everything else in this range, I'm just really happy with the set. And, as always, Crutchfield makes trying things (especially in Signature series) a real pleasure.

Pros:

Cons:

Great... only one drawback

David from Charlotte, NC on 3/4/2011

Great sound, very comfortable, suppresses just about all exterior noise. Adequate protective carrying case. The only drawback is that it needs a AAA battery (I recommend Lithium) or it will not function. I keep 2 fresh ones in the carrying case at all times. I would recommend this product.

Pros:

Cons:

Another sound defying product from Bose

Mark from Syracuse, NY on 3/1/2011

This product is another marvel from Bose. I am not a fan of paying $299 for headphones, but the sound quality of these headphones is amazing. Our only other experience with Bose is their wave radio, which we received as a gift. We are amazed by the sound that the wave radio puts out and expected similar results from their headphones. We were not let down! The sound quality of these headphones is remarkable! The headphones seem to cover a great range of sounds, with remarkable crispness. Good bold base too, without being over-bearing. I was also not a fan or buying a set of headphones that take batteries, but these headphones use only one AAA battery that can last up to 35 hours or so. I haven't experienced the noise canceling feature yet, but these headphones have an option of being used (without being plugged into a music device) to eliminate background noise, like on a plane ride or whatever. great feature! They come in a convenient carrying case with wires to fit diferent size jacks, like an Ipod/Itouch ... and even come with a double prong plug to be used on airplane jacks! My only reason for rating them 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think they are expensive. Well done Bose!

I have been looking at the Dre's (studio's $299) and there top of the line(pro beats) $499. the Q's dont hit hard like the Dre's,but, again, the Dre's dont offer the N.Cancelling.. lol if u get these.MONEY WELL SPENT

After reading all of the reviews and listening to the QC15 display set locally, I decided to give these headphones a try. I am blown away, the noise reduction circuitry is a miracle. I travel frequently by jet plane and the white noise is all but canceled out entirely. The QC15s bring an all new level of serenity, relaxation and restfulness to any trip. Flying from NYC to LA is a long flight, but my Bose headphones make the trip more enjoyable. I'm surprised that nearly every reviewer here can't say enough great things about this product, saying they are amazing, and then complain about the price? Yes they are pricey BUT they do exactly what they claim to do, and are the best on the market. This type of technology isn't cheap. Wouldn't it make more sense to complain about the price if they DIDN'T work? They DO work and I am a believer. Worth every penny.
