Very comfortable

I think its pretty funny when people don't understand what they are buying and how it works. These are great for reducing background "noise" because of the technology used. They aren't designed to supress talking, stereos, etc. Use earplugs for something like that :) These are comfortable and do what they are designed to do. The price is a little high, but I got mine by converting airline miles for a crutchfield gift certificate. My total out of pocket was $19.00 :)

Not worth it

I bought these earphones with the hopes that they could be used to help with studying by decreasing
background noise, specifically in the library. I have tried them at two libraries and various coffee shops and
am unimpressed, especially considering the cost. The headphones do decrease the background noise from
air conditioning hums and low playing televisions, but they are horrible fore anything else. I have a next
door neighbor that likes to play music which has a lot of bass. I was hoping these headphones could be
used to drown out this low level noise, not so. With the headphones on and even with the headphones on
and with earplugs in, I can still hear the music. I have found that the headphones may decrease low level
noise, but in the process enhance other noises, such as people talking, intercom noise, background music
in restaurants, passing traffic, etc. I can actually here these noises more clearly because the low level
background noise is gone. I have tried to use them with and without music playing. Even with music
playing, I have to turn up the volume really loud to drown out the now enhanced background noise. I
would like to add, that I do own other Bose products with which I am very happy. I have a Bose wave radio
and the Bose in-ear headphones. They are fine products, but these headphones are sub-par, and not
worth the money. I am sending my back.

We got these earphones for my husband because he races vintage cars and it is incredibly noisy at the track and in the pits. He used them, and I got to try them as well, last weekend. They are awesome. It made a huge difference in being able to tolerate time in the pits. If the person who rated this low was expecting total silence, he would be disappointed, but all background noise was filtered out and even the loud cars were very muted as they fired the engines. We are ordering a pair for me now.

Perfect? Well, dang good.

I switched from a Sony on-ear style noise-canceling headphone, and this is head and shoulders above that one. It fits much more comfortably on the ears, is less painful (yes, the Sony actually hurt my ears after an hour's wear time; can't say how the QC3 would be in this regard), and accommodates my eyeglasses far better. Besides the comfort, the noise canceling is performed without injecting any white noise (annoying in the Sony; to be fair, the Sony cost a lot less, too). Finally, the audio fidelity is excellent. I wear them to and from work on a train every day, and most of the time in the office as well. I love them, and would certainly recommend them, if you can afford the premium price. I'd have given a five-star if it was only a little more affordable.

Best I have found

I tried many different headsets thinking I could save money. Although some gave OK sound filtering the Bose fit the best were the most comfortable for long flights. I must admit I have a large head and all the other manufactures did not fit well.
