This was purchased as a gift for my daughter. She originally requested another brand which returned. She loves the Bose. It has great sound, good volume and the bass really gets there.
Pros: high volume strong bass
I really liked this speaker, both the sound and the bluetooth syncing, which worked well for me -- although I had to download and consult the manual to get it done.. In fact, I liked it so much that when the one I had died (just plain stopped working, wouldn't charge, wouldn't turn on), I bought another. BUT -- Bose, you are on notice. One more like the previous one, and I'll never buy another Bose product. It is unacceptable tor a premium-priced product to just die for no apparent reason.
Pros: Great -- while it worked.
Cons: It quit working.
I love this Bluetooth speaker. This is my first experience with a wireless speaker and I must say I am very impressed with Bose. It is just the right size and the sound is excellent.
Pros: Great sound and size. Easy to connect.
Outstanding sound. Light weight and beautiful design. 100% happy with performance.
Pros: Great sound. Easy to take on trips. Beautiful design. Thinking of buying one for my office.
I had the original Soundlink 1 until I gave it as a gift just this December 2013 and ordered another not knowing it's new and improved. Great for enclosed areas like an office or bedroom. Can really feel the bass for such a small unit.
Pros: Easy to connect to anything that has bluetooth. Excellent sound quality
Cons: None what so ever
Buy far best small speaker on the market
Pros: Sounds better than any speaker I ever heard !!! It was so good I bought a second just for the bedroom
Cons: None that I have fount
The Bose Soundlink speaker is an excellent product. I have it connected to my Apple iPad. Connection time took all of ten seconds. I did experiment placing speaker in different areas of our house (living room, kitchen, etc.) and the results were great in all locations. The sound from this speaker has excellent clarity between "highs" and "lows". This is my first experience with a wireless speaker since, historically, I have used Polk wired speakers. I must say that the Bose Soundlink is a winner.
Pros: Very easy connection; excellent sound; easily transported.
Cons: none so far
Bought this Bluetooth speaker as a Xmas present for myself. Use it primarily as a portable speaker system for my iPod during exercise or when I'm working on projects around the house. Like to have background music playing using Pandora as the primary music source. Would definitely purchase this Bose speaker again.
Pros: Easy to link Bluetooth to iPod or iPad. Sound quality is excellent!
Cons: None that I'm aware of.
Bought this for my sister for Christmas. She loves it.
Pros: Great sound.
Love this Bluetooth speaker, I got an iPad mini for Christmas and got to put the speaker on the top shelf to keep out of reach of the children. I could control the volume and music from my seat with my iPad. It played for hours never had to plug it in and was very easy to connect to! The sound is amazing for such a small speaker! I would recommend for anyone who loves music, perfect for get togethers!
Pros: Portable, clear sound, and easy to use
What a great product. If I can set up the bluetooth, anyone can. Just follow the easy directions and you're in business. It's also easy to transport and is very durable. Thanks for recommending this to me.
Pros: Portability, durability, ease of setup, sound quality.
Cons: It is pricey but worth the money.
The Bose Soundlink II is a great travel bluetooth speaker. We took it when rented a large house with some friends a and we were not expecting it to be able to fill the whole room, but we were pleasantly surprised. Not only was it loud enough, it even sounded good when at the outdoor fire pit. It was nice that all of us could connect to the bluetooth at different times and play our music. I looked at this speaker and the Big Jambox, but decided on this one since the Bose speaker has a replaceable battery. I know its a portable speaker, but I still wish it has a little more bass.
Pros: Replaceable battery
Portable, easy to use, and great sound.
Two things to improve: 1. Bluetooth disconnect automatically after 30min. I cannot set alarm for the next morning playing music through the speaker. To reconnect you need to reach the speaker. I understand this is to save battery, but you should have different and more convenient settings with power plugged in. And what I suspect is with power plugged in, the speaker still use battery.
2. FaceTime and Skype cannot go through the speaker. And with FaceTime on, music cannot go through the speaker anymore until you shut down FaceTime. So you cannot chat with somebody when enjoy the music from the speaker at the same time.
The Best Sounding Speaker System I have EVER HAD !! The quality of the Bose Soundlink is Far Surpasses any others that I have owned. Even Outdoors by the Pool the Quality sounds like a you are surrounded by Speakeres. It is such a pleasure to just pick it up and Go ! Connecting to my Bluetooth of my I phone is so Simple to set up , its such any easy fix to just grab it and go and know you will have Excellent sound whereever you are.
Strong sound from a small box. Works great to bring a little music to the kitchenette.
This speaker is great. It connects to my iPhone quickly and produces great sound. I travel a lot and this speaker allows me to enjoy great sound around the world. I highly recommend this product if you appreciate music. You may find a lower cost speaker but nothing that produces the quality of sound.
Pros: Great sound quality, easy to connect, great size for traveling
Cons: A bit expensive
Very impressive sound quality with nice un distorted bass
Pros: Price and very compact to carry
All features work as described. Sound is balanced, rich, lovely.
Pros: Size, Ease of Bluetooth connectivity to iPod 5 touch, Well-rounded sound, Sleek look.
Cons: Balance on surface could be a bit steadier.
Bose still the best!
Great sound, great price, Bose Makes a big difference
Pros: portable, long lasting battery, excellent sound
Excellent Bose sound. Fills up the room with crystal clear music. A nice deep base and a full rich overall sound
Pros: Light, compact, well built, a fantastically priced product when compared to its competition.
Cons: It should have came with an auxiliary wire, car charger, and USB cord
Would not recommend. Have both Bose iPod transportable iPod players and unfortunately Bose bluetooth does not connect easily to iPhone 5 easily via bluetooth. When it works, great! But if you cannot connect reliably the next time, well no music, sorry it's a downer. What is the value then if you cannot wirelessly and EFFORTLESSLY connect??
Pros: wireless compact
Cons: wireless and not connecting
Worked great right out of thr box. Set up was easy pairing my samsung 4 s phone. I watched viedo on my phone and listened to the music on you tube. Excellant sound quality and volumn.thank you crutchfield.
Pros: Good volumn from a little book speaker
We love it! We use it on the porch when grilling out, on the boat, everywhere! Was easy to use. Sound is fantastic!
I've only had it for a couple of weeks, and this little music box is handy. It's not going to blow your eardrums out, but it sounds great for it's size. What I like most are the ease of use. Once charged up, you can take it with you out on the back porch, in the garage, in the workout room, whereever and stream music from your phone or ipad. I use my Samsung Note 2 Phone, and it connects very quickly. So far, nothing bad to report.
Pros: Portability, Size, Sound, Bluetooth
Cons: None yet.
IT a BOSE! There is nothing else to say, other than buy the unit
Pros: compact, blue tooth tech and wireless.
Cons: Wish I could afford several more of the unit.
Took a couple of tries to hook up ipod, but once hooked up works great.
Pros: Impressive sound and volume, especially for pop, rock etc.
Cons: Would have liked a richer sound for classical orchestral recordings.
As with all my purchases from Crutchfield, the Bose unit arrived within two days, in flawless condition. And, with all my Bose purchases, the quality of Bluetooth II exceeded my expectations. It looks good, easy to set up and sinc with my iphones and has excellent portability - which is what i wanted. Sound quality is typical Bose aka excellent and this uint has impressive volume for its size. I am sure there are better bluetooth units out there, but for my money this Bose unit and Crutchfield service are hard to beat!
Pros: Size, portatability, stylish, excellent sound and volume. Very good value for the money!
Cons: Battery life could be better but not a problem...also comes with power adaptor/
Excellent speaker. Is a BOSE!!!
Pros: The sound is great
Took just a few seconds to link it up to my iPod, iPad, and my Blackberry Z10. The sound is full and rich, and the battery life on a charge is outstanding. It's incredibly portable - like carrying a book (remember when people had books?), and it's pleasing to the eye as well. Very satisfied!
Pros: Sound quality, ease of use, size, battery life
Play it were ever I go. To the beach, park, work,my friends house, parties and so onget
Pros: Cannot beat
Cons: Get one and you b satisfied
Very user friendly great sounding little speaker. Amazing how much sound comes out of something so small.
Pros: Small size, great sound. Easy connection with droid razr maxx, and iphone 5
A friend at work told me about this speaker and I thought I would try it. I'm glad I did. The sound is awesome and yes, it is a little pricey, but truly worth every penny. It's a Bose...and you get what you pay for! In this case that means great sound. I love this speaker...enough said!!
Pros: Easy set-up; clear sound.
A little heavy on bass, but otherwise awesome
Very happy with my Bose sound link 2. Seemed expensive initially, but after using this for about three weeks I love this thing. Worth the price totally. equipment Quality and sound is impressive as to be expected from Bose. Almost more impressive was crutchfields customer service. Returned a product that I was truly unhappy with, in exchange for my sound link and now am very happy with a product I use almost daily! Thanks -John
Pros: Excellent sound and quality for a retivally small unit. Good wireless range compared with other bluetooth devices. Full charge lasts a while.
Cons: Happy with the unit, would be sweet if there was a more robust case I could acquire for sound link. Also would be cool if you could remotely turn the unit on and off.
What a speaker ,I'm a truck driver and I wanted a speaker so I listen to my music while in the shower on the road I tried the jamz jar it was ok but I wanted more,so I ordered the Bose ,,and WOW when I use this it sounds like I have a full size stereo I'm very impressed with the Bose Soundlink ll
Good base sound
connects easily via bluetooth to both adroid and IOS platforms, sound quality is good, portability and battery life is good.
Pros: ease of use, portability and connectivity
Let me get past the "con" that we had read about this system: it's expensive. Ok, enough said. For us, it was getting the highest sound quality we could get from our iPhones, iPODs, and iPads in a completely PORTABLE package with a well known and respected name on it. The price shouldn't matter. The Soundlink did exactly what we expected of it. And, our little "baby" pumps Lakme' Flower Duet so beautifully well, it's as if Mado Robin was in the room with us. Norah Jones voice is crystal clear. And a Verdi Mandolin piece high notes are crisp. We have had zero problems with our unit. Advice: Read the instructions! We did and we pair easily with the 5 devices we've selected for pairing. We even found a Targus small messenger bag that we use to transport the unit when were out and about. My hubby has also used the unit as an external speaker (wired).
Pros: We have one!
Cons: You don't and probably should!
Very easy to use and sounds great. Tried one of the Sony products first, but was really disappointed in the sound, so decided to try out this Bose. Extremely small and portable, case is built-in. Definitely get what you pay for with these bluetooth speaker systems. Don't waste your money on the cheaper products.
Pros: Great sounds. Easy to use. Portable and comes with the case.
I was very pleased with the quality of the sound and the ease of use with my iPad. I bought it to use in my music classroom, and as a portable speaker when needed.
The Bose sound that I bought is perfect sound ever seen. This small and very comfortable to use in small room and small party outdoor. The battery very good, once you charged you can you up to 1 week without charge again.
I high reccommen to any body and my friend who want to buy small sound.
Pros: Perfect sound ever
Cons: Good battery
A superb well balanced sound, along with with excellent build quality. You will be amazed at the amount of volume and bass response available from such a small unit. Battery life is also excellent at normal volume levels. It connects superbly with all Bluetooth enable units. I could go on and on but all I can say to summarize is buy it. You will not be disappointed in any way.
Really impressed with the sound. Connects perfectly with my iPhone 5 and my wife's iPhone 4S. I get a good solid 6 hours from the battery. Would definitely recommend.
Pros: Great sound. Bluetooth connects quickly. Feels solid. Well made.
Cons: Wish the battery life was a little longer, but still great.
Needed a new set of speakers for my laptop. Also wanted it more portable than needing a cable to hook up to my laptop. But was worried I'd lose bass without a proper speaker set (i.e. no woofer). I've been very pleased this solid little guy. I place it next to a wall and it really booms thoughtout the entire house. The bluetooth connects on the first try and I've carried it throughout the house. Cut out one time I think, but it's worked in the same place ever since. Took it up Up North for a weekend and used my phone to connect to my local sports station. Friends were really impressed with the sound when I played songs from my phone. Served it's purpose very well and would highly recommend even at this price.
Pros: Big sound (much better than my old set w/woofer!), battery life seems good so far, bluetooth convenience or an ordinary aux cable. Feels like real solid construction.
Cons: Pricey. But the last speaker set I had ($70ish) blew out in a few months and wasn't portable.
what can you say, it's Bose. Sounds Great. Given as a birthday gift to our Son. Son in law has one , too and they both LOVEM ........ compact and easy to use. I could have gotten the older version for a little cheaper but it didn't have "6 device" link memory capability which I thought was a needed option for easy multiple device usage. Buying experience from Crutchfields was Exceptional. Would buy again without Hesitation
Pros: compact and easy to use nice sound
Cons: expensive with no coupons allowed .............. just like Under Armour ........... darn
I had a smaller Braven unit that sounded ok, but was not very tough. Returned that and purchased the Bose. Am happy with the quality and the performance. I use mine mostly with a MP3 player and it works great.
Pros: Good sound and the unit seems to be tough enough for years of use.
Cons: Price is on the high side and battery life can be short when playing it at higher levels
First of all, thank you Crutchfield for doing your part of the job nicely, as always. - I was seriously considering to return it and received a post card from Crutchfield. - and I decide to keep this speaker - just for the sake of supporting a good company that still is doing business the old fashion way.
As of the speaker itself: Due to the high review scores, I have some kind of high expectation. But the minute I set it up, oh boy, how disappointed I am! I can hear some sound out of it and that's it!! high and low? It's got be there but I cannot hear. Now after couple of weeks and playing different kinds of music in different rooms at different sound level, I would say in a quite room when playing certain music at certain volume, I actually can hear the "richness" of the sound to some extend, for this I think at least it worth half of the price. bluetooth paring: very easy for Nexus 4 (android), a little harder for an iPhone 5, but still easy, and have trouble to pair an old phone with Symbian
Pros: portable, convenient, easy to use.
I have tried and returned the Jambox (why in the world did this tinny little thing get such good reviews?), the TDK A33 (good sound but wouldn't work with my ipad), the Creative D100 (gave this away - tried to return but vendor didn't think it was worth the postage and I agree) as well as Brookstone's Big Blue and Big Blue Live. None of them compare to the Bose which somehow has figured out how to get the best sound out of compressed audio files and to actually work well (pair easily - little interference with sound) with my ipad and iphone. I'm going with Bose from now on.
Pros: Great sound. Portable. Has some sort of memory so pairs instantly with last device when you turn it on.
Cons: Short battery life - which isn't a big issue for me. Expensive - but worth it.
Really enjoy the quality sound this small box outs out. The convenience and compactness of it is just perfect for taking on trips or just listening at the house. I use Pandora however there are many venues available to make this box jam! Bose continues to live up to it's name
Pros: compactability, sound, and quality
Cons: needs a carrying case.......with using the measurements I found something on line to carry it with me.
We've had the speaker for about two weeks. It sounds great (the base is pretty amazing) and is easy to carry around wherever we want to listen to music. The only issue I have at this point is the Bluetooth connections. It states that 5 devices can connect. When we had some friends over, this became a very frustrating task. 5 devices could connect but we had a lot of trouble going back and forth playing music from every persons device. The directions make it sound easy so we'll have to follow step by step next time. Who reads directions anyway? Actually, you should always read directions with electronics.
Pros: Great sound and portability.
Cons: Bluetooth connections for multiple devices and the price is much higher than the Jawbone and Beats version. I would be interested to compare the sound of those devices.
Crutchfield shipped the product in a timely fashion, as promised. The Bose Soundlink product was disappointing though. I installed it and linked it to my iPhone, but after two songs it stopped working and failed to pair with any device. I had to spend an hour on the phone with Bose and was told it was faulty and to ship it back. Not what I bargained for a product at a premium price. Given the trade, go with Jambox.
Pros: Good sound, while it lasted.
Cons: Bluetooth stopped working after 5 minutes. Faulty product. Expensive. Need I go on?
This speaker is not cheap, but the quality lives up to the cost. It is a well built, solid performing unit. It looks great too, unlike the current competitors. It has overall amazing sound for such a small speaker. My wife and I travel a lot and often like to have music in the hotel or condo rooms. Also, we like a portable speaker for outdoor use.
I have a much less expensive Altec bluetooth speaker. It is nowhere near the quality either, so you get what you pay for. It's only audio advantage is a built in speakerphone for pairing with cell phones, which the Bose lacks. Also, the Altec has better treble than the Bose, which is a bit subdued without modest equalization from the laptop media player's equalizer.
Pros: Rich, amazing sound. Compact form factor compared to current competitors, which is ideal for travelers. Decent battery life. Classy appearance compared to competitors. Would buy again, no regrets.
Cons: Subdued treble, although not a deal breaker. Lack of speakerphone capability - again, not a deal breaker.
Great portable speaker with big sound. You get the best sound if you place the speaker against a wall. I haven't had any issues with Bluetooth connectivity. Instructions are very clear about making/clearing connections.
Pros: Compact. Portable. Crisp sound. So easy to use my kids can operate it.
Cons: You have to put against a flat surface to get the best sound.
I returned this product to Crutchfield after only 15 minutes of use. I think the issue was that I was expecting more from this at the price Bose charges. I own an original Bose Acoustic wave purchased back in the late 80s and still use it to this day. The Soundlink was very tinny sounding and lacked the depth I would expect after spending this much. After speaking with Crutchfield (and listening side by side at a major retailer), I exchanged the Soundlink for the Portable Sound Dock. MUCH better sound and depth. Though it doesn't come close to the Acoustic wave, it is a huge improvement over the Soundlink.
Pros: Very sleek styling, compact design
Cons: Lacks depth of sound. Expensive.
This lives up to my expectations and sounds good. It pairs easily to my devices. I plan to buy another as a gift.
Best wireless speaker!
Cons: None so far!
Bluetooth (A2DP) Technology: The Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II Digital Music System offers built-in Bluetooth (A2DP) Technology which lets you wirelessly connect with many Bluetooth enabled devices; such as your iPod touch, iPhone, iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Blackberry, or laptop. You'll be able to wirelessly stream music stored on your device or from music apps on your device; like Pandora, iHeartRadio, MOG, or Spotify. And if you need to multitask, you can keep using your device while you listen to music. Bluetooth wireless technology has a range of approximately 30'. The SoundLink Bluetooth system can pair up to 6 Bluetooth-enabled devices (only one can be active). If you are using a smartphone, a phone call interrupts your audio source and plays through your phone only. When the call ends, your music automatically resumes through the SoundLink Mobile speaker II.
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II system.
Advanced Sound Performance: Proprietary speaker technologies deliver your music in all its clarity with robust sound unusual for a compact, wireless speaker. Its unique driver configuration allows the small, lightweight speaker to reproduce deep, full sound.
Note: The speaker is designed to sound best when placed on a shelf, counter, desk, or tabletop that is 24-48" high. For best bass response, the speaker should be placed near a wall; bass response decreases as the speaker is placed closer to the center of a room.
Aux Input: The SoundLink Bluetooth has a rear-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting a external portable audio source other than your Bluetooth-enabled device.
mini-USB Connector: The unit's mini-USB (type-B) port is designed for downloadable software updates that may be available in the future. By registering this product, you will automatically be notified of any necessary updates.
Integrated Cover/Stand: The SoundLink Bluetooth's integrated bi-fold cover protects the speaker during travel and unfolds into a stand for instant playback anywhere.
Rechargeable Battery: The SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II is powered by a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. A fully charged battery gives you up to eight hours of continuous playing time in most situations. An empty battery usually takes two to three hours to charge. The battery light shows green when the battery is charged between 70-100%. Yellow indicates a charge between 20-69%. And red means the battery is less than 19% charged.
Note: When the SoundLink Mobile speaker II is unplugged and unused for more than 14 days, it enters battery protection mode to preserve battery power.
AC Power Adapter: The included AC power adapter can be used to charge the integrated battery and power the unit.
