Perfect connections for Bose
I was looking for a solution to connect my Bose V35 speakers. I had the house pre-wired and this produce fit perfectly to connect all the speakers. I did not use this for the woofer though, I connected this directly to the unit. It took some time to connect the right speaker to the right point though.
Pros: Very convenient if you have pre-wired speakers. Without this, we would end up with so many connections.
Cons: Not sure whether it is the room/speakers/this connector. The speakers don't sound great even after calibration.
I was surprised that my recent purchase of the Bose Accoustimass System did not include these adapters. A call to Bose corporation led me to this product. It is a great product and required to install the system using exiting speaker wires.
Pros: Excellent product, Adapter is a must
Cons: Wish Bose include this product reference in the accessories or in the FAQ's
Great way to clean up messy wires. Ran my own CL2 in wall 14g wire instead of stock bose cables to 5 speakers on 535 lifestyle system. This cable management system was simple to install & saved me the hassle of having to fool around with all the wires that would have otherwise ran to the acoustimass module. Well worth the cost.
Pros: Simple to install
This product is great. Made hooking up my bose speakers a snap. I have prewired speakers at my house this made it very neet.
Pros: Easy to install
We bought a new house that the previous owners had a Bose system, but took it with them. So, this was useful for us as we bought a new Bose system through Crutchfield. I'm pleased with the easy installation.
Pros: Easy to use.
Great product. I'm finishing part of my basement to create a home theater and this product is perfect for the speaker system.
Pros: Very easy to hide wires in the wall
Great solution for hooking up proprietary systems when you pre-wired during construction. Extremely easy to install. Would highly recommend.
As with all Bose products the quality is excellent and very easy to use. This made it a lot easier to connect my surround speakers plus I didn't have to create new RCA plugs to connect to the bass module. The connectors are a little tight to get 14 gauge wire into, but just use twist on connectors and it's much faster and cleaner or go with 16 gauge.
This is a much cleaner install then your normal 5.1 wall plate. The only thing I would change is the gauge size accepted by the terminals on the back of the décor wall plate and maybe give an option for a longer cable connecting from the wall to the Bose unit. As always Crutchfield ships fast. You just can't beat them.
Overview: The Bose Speaker Wire Adapter Kit allows you to easily connect pre-installed speaker wiring to a Bose home theater system. The kit includes a 7' home theater speaker cable, a speaker connection plate, a white cover plate and four mounting screws.
Compatibility: The Bose Speaker Wire Adapter Kit is designed for use with the Bose Lifestyle home entertainment systems and the Bose Acoustimass speaker systems. It is compatible with both 5.1 and 6.1-channel versions of these systems. The cable can be connected to speaker wire up to 14-gauge.
Connections: The 7' supplied cable features six gold-plated male RCA terminals on one end which plug into your Bose Acoustimass module. The other end features a 14-pin proprietary connector which plugs into the front of the speaker connection plate. On the rear of the speaker connection plate is 14 mini set-screw terminals for connecting the pre-existing and already installed in-wall speaker wire.
Mounting: The supplied speaker connection plate mounts to a standard single-gang electrical box (sold separately). The included white cover plate mounts over and around the speaker connection plate for a clean and professional looking install. Four mounting screws are provided for securing the connection plate and cover plate to your single-gang electrical box and wall.
At Crutchfield, you'll get detailed, accurate information that's hard to find elsewhere. That's because we have our own in-house Product Research team. They verify what’s in the box, check the owner's manual, and record dimensions, features and specs. We stay on top of new products and technologies to help people make informed choices.
A great fit and low profile [ GREGORY Jul 10, 2016 ]
Appears to be a simple way to make the transition from the standard external Bose speaker system. [ Marshall K. May 09, 2016 ]
Included in the box are: 7' Bose Acoustimass speaker cable with 6 gold-plated male RCA connectors on one end and a proprietary 14-pin connector on other end White speaker plate connection White cover plate Two large mounting screws Two small mounting screws Instruction sheet [ Jeff Feb 22, 2016 ] Staff
I have the Acoustimass 10 Series IV and it works perfectly. If your speakers connect to the sub with an RCA-type cable, it should work. [ Raymond Feb 04, 2016 ]
Though not familiar with the Cinematic 520, I will still say probably not. All the instructions say either Acoutimass systems or Lifestyle systems. I am sure Bose would love to sell a lot more of these adapters and you would think that it fit, it would be somewhere in their instructions or something that talked about its compatibility. [ Mark Dec 23, 2014 ]
Not sure, but if the base module has RCA type connections (as 535 system does) then I'd guess it'll work. [ KEVIN Dec 23, 2014 ]
Yes you can install two locations. Only one in use at a time. Lots more wire but makes a very clean install [ MATTHEW W Mar 18, 2014 ]
Yes, it is possible but a little hard. But if you have the position available for it, and your house is not pre wire already. Example is My house was pre-wire so I didn't have other option than put it at the space available for it. Meaning were all of the cables connect. I know is tricky but it is possible and it is very easy to install. [ ROSANA Mar 17, 2014 ]
This will only work in one location. Unless you install a speaker switch of some kind but I think that would cause more resistance and interference in the line then it would be worth. I say this because all your in wall speaker wires get directly plugged into this outlet. [ Thomas Mar 17, 2014 ]
