Overview Details Customer Reviews Category Info Our take on the Clarion CCA748 iPod® Audio/Video Cable by Zak Billmeier Why would I need an iPodĀ® adapter? An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music. The CCA748 cable connects your iPod to select Clarion DVD receivers, allowing transfer of video content. Once connected, you'll be able to listen to your iPod music files while driving, view your iPod video files when you're parked, and keep your iPod fully charged. The cable also enables your Clarion receiver to provide touchscreen control over your iPod's music playback, while the receiver displays the title, genre, and artist information stored on your iPod. It finally completes my system and I no longer need to uninstall my head unit for anything! I love the fact that the cable not only enables me to watch video from my iPod, iPhone, and iPad, but it allows me to charge the aforementioned devices at the same time. wholeheartedly recommend anyone with the VX-401 purchase this item. Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. This is just what was needed. For me, the cable is PLENTY long and works perfectly. I have the opportunity in my F-250 Ford, to bring the USB right from the radio through an existing hole in my garbage bag holder on the bottom of the middle of dash. I can physically hook any USB item direct to the USB and also plug the cable for my iPhone. This cable also goes thru the same hole for the yellow video plug to the supplied adapter on the radio. I can also just stuff the cable back thru to store it out of the way. I have a phone holder by "Pro Clip" so I jump in the PU, stick the phone in holder, pull out the cable, plug in and WALL LA! Strange cable...yes it extends the really short USB cable coming out of the back of the clarion radio, but when you hook it up...the ONLY thing you can hook to it is your Ipod. What if you want to use just a USB? Answer: you can't. The only thing you can do is buy yet ANOTHER USB cable extension, plug this product into that, and then you will have access to USB and Ipod.
