You can make your next boat trip more enjoyable with Clarion's CMD4A marine CD player. Clarion's smart design offers complete protection against waves, rain, or humidity, thanks to a water-resistant faceplate, conformal coated circuit board, and unique rubber gasket and door assembly.
The CMD4A supplies plenty of power with its built-in amplifier, so you'll be able to hear your music over the noise of wind, waves, and the boat's motor. You can use the three sets of preamp outputs to add outboard amplifiers, and the rear auxiliary audio input is available for your portable music player or any other audio source.
You'll be able to read the flip-down LCD display in bright sunlight or darkness. All the buttons light up along with the screen at night for easy access to all controls. Adjust the center frequencies of the bass and treble to zero in on the perfect sound. You can also buy an optional wired remote control, so you can run the show from the helm while your CD player stays in a safe spot.
In addition to its acclaimed AM/FM tuner, the CMD4A will play all your CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs, and also works with a Clarion CD changer. Should you choose to add satellite radio, this versatile CD player works with the optional SIRCL3 SIRIUS tuner.

Clarion CMD4A Reviews
Average Customer Review:
Clarion is not the best choice
I bought this unit to replace a CMD3 that came with my boat and failed after 2 seasons. The unit sounded great for about 4 months when it started to have the same problems my old one did. Fortunately less than 12 months had gone by so I sent it in to Clarion for warranty repair.
It took them 3 days after receipt to even acknowledge they had my unit then they provided no feedback as to turn around time. Two weeks later I called their "customer service" line to find out that it had been repaired 7 days ago and was in "Quality Control" where they test the unit before sending it on. Apparently my call spurred "Quality Control" to approve my unit and it was shipped that day via UPS ground. Coming up on a holiday weekend I wanted to track my package but Clarion REFUSED to provide a tracking number on multiple occasions claiming it was against their policy ???
Luckily my CMD4 showed up Friday in time for the holiday weekend. I grabbed the box and headed to the lake. Re-installing to only about 5 minutes since all the original wiring was in place and the C-net add on units are plug and play. Unfortunately when I fired up the unit output was only half what it used to be and the unit completely failed within 5 minutes.
Today the unit is back on its way to Clarion for the last time, if I didn't have the Sirius module, and two remotes that would have to be replaced too I would have given up already.
A must have for all iPod users
Just upgraded my factory Clarion to this CMD4A. Wowee! That is all I can say. It is so easy to use and the iPod interface works almost exactly like the iPod itself. I can even control and see artist and title displays from my remotes! What a great stereo.
