About the Clarion CMD6
If your boat's your pride and joy, then Clarion's CMD6 marine receiver deserves a place in the cockpit. It's built to give you outstanding sound, while standing up to the tough marine environment. The stainless steel chassis, conformal-coated circuit board, and rigorous build quality all ensure that this receiver will be rollin' down the river for years to come
Hook up your gear
If you've got your music on a variety of sources, you'll be well served by the CMD6. Two rear auxiliary inputs give you a pair of options for your portable players, while the rear USB input provides a connection for thumb drives or your iPod®. You can add an optional satellite radio tuner for an unparalleled variety of music, news, sports, and talk, or plug in Clarion's Bluetooth adapter for hands-free mobile phone use.
Don't leave the dock without your discs. The receiver plays all your store-bought or home-burned CDs, including discs loaded with MP3, WMA, and AAC files. Whatever your source, you'll be able read all the song and artist info clearly on the 2-line black-on-white display.
Remote control
You'll find a convenient wireless remote control in the box. You can also add on Clarion's MW1 and MW2 wired remote controls — place one at the helm and you'll still be able to control the receiver that you've installed below. Or pick up Clarion's MF1 remote for radio frequency control when you're out of line of sight of the receiver.
Sound matters
The rich media features of the CMD6 are complemented by the outstanding sound quality. The powerful amp outputs 21 watts to each of the four channels, and you can adjust your tone with separate bass and treble controls. BBE® MP sound processing adds life to compressed music files, and even makes your regular CDs sound better. For a heavy-hitting system, add amps to the three sets of preamp outputs and bring on all the sound you need, even on the largest cruiser.

Marine Rated
Marine Tested: The Clarion CMD6 Marine CD receiver has been engineered and tested for use in the harsh marine environment. The receiver meets or exceeds ASTM B117 Salt/Fog Exposure and ASTM D4329 UV Exposure standards. The CMD6 offers full IPX5 tested and certified Water Intrusion protection. The faceplate features a unique rubber gasket and door assembly offering the internal components complete water protection. The unit features a sealed stainless steel chassis, a front panel rubber gasket and drip shield over the wire connections to keep water from dripping onto the internal circuits, behind the faceplate and wire connections. The receiver also features a HumiSeal coated PCB to protect against corrosion. This means the main circuit boards feature a silicone coating to help resist the effects of humidity.
Display Features
Oversized Fold-Down Face: The CMD6 features an oversized fold-down face with a rubber surround so your CD-disc stays protected behind the unit's marine rated face-plate. The front panel mechanically folds down to load and eject CDs. The unit's face features a high visibility 2-line display.
Note: The face-plate is not detachable.
Contrast: You can set the contrast level between 1 and 10 for best display visibility.
Illumination Dimmer: The receiver's display automatically dims to a preset brightness when the boats lights are turned on. The wiring harness includes an orange/white lead that should be connected to the boats light circuit in order for the dimmer feature to operate.
Audio Section
CEA-2006 Compliant Amplifier: The Clarion CMD6 amplifier section is rated at 21 Watts RMS x 4 channels in 4 ohms at 1% THD+N with a 91 dBA signal-to-noise ratio.

BBE MP: BBE MP is a sound enhancement and restoration function for compressed audio files. BBE MP improves digitally compressed sound, such a MP3, by restoring and enhancing the harmonics lost through compression. BBE MP works by regenerating harmonics from the source material, effectively recovering warmth, detail and nuance. You can set this function to High, Mid, Low, or Off.
Mute: Use this function to turn off the sound immediately.
3 Set of 2V Preouts: The CMD6 features front, rear and subwoofer preamp outputs on a set of pigtails attached to the rear chassis. The subwoofer output is non-fading and its output level can be adjusted from -6 to +6. The subwoofer output does not contain a low-pass crossover.
