Clarion's CMRC1-SB wired remote control lets you manage your Clarion marine receiver from just about anywhere in the boat. Adjust the volume, track selection, play/pause, disc up and down, power on and off, radio band, source, and mute — all from the CMRC1-SB's waterproof, silver-and-black base station. You can even keep track of track selection, source, and volume level on the oversized LCD display.

Note: If the included 1-foot cable isn't long enough, you'll need to purchase the 24-foot extension cable.

Good except for a couple items

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to go with a Clarion M475. Everything works great except for two
major gripes. There is no way to scroll up and down through radio preset
stations. Since I mostly listen to my IPOD this isn't that big a deal, but any
remote worth having should allow you to go through preset stations. The other
thing is the light at night is super bright and there is no way to dim it. This
is a big deal since this is to go with a MARINE radio mounted in a boat and you
rely mostly on your night vision to see where you are going on the water at
night. I resorted to putting a piece of electrical tape over the display at
night and eventually wired the light wire to a switch so I could turn it off and
on. Other than that it was easy to hook up and works as expected.

I have this wired remote on a upper station in my boat. Easy to use, works great. I would recommend this product.

Industry Standards

Compatibility: The CMRC1-SB is designed to work with Clarion's CMD4 and M455 Marine Audio series receivers (compatibility is not limited to the two models, but these are the two that are currently available, more may be introduced in the future).

Display: The display shows basic source and mode information (Disc/Track, FM frequency, etc).

Illumination: The buttons and display can be backlit in white by connecting the 12 volt input on the back of the remote to a fuse in the boat's illumination circuit.

Water Resistant: The remote is water resistant, so it is ideal for use on boats where you need to control the radio's basic functions from a damp remote location.

Mounting: The CMRC1 is flush mounted into a flat panel and is held in place by sandwiching the lip of the remote and the mounting bracket around the panel. The mounting bracket is then tightened to the fixed bolts on the back of the remote. The lip of the remote has a gasket on the underside so the opening will remain fairly water tight.

  • Power Source: Press to turn on, once the head unit is on press to select source, press and hold for 1 second to turn off
  • Band/Disc: Switches between bands if listening to the radio, between discs if listening to a CD changer, starts at the beginning if listening to a disc in the head unit
  • Mute/Play/Pause: Mutes output if listening to the radio, pauses if listening to a disc
  • Volume Up/Down: Increases or decreases volume
  • Select <</>>: Jumps to the next preset when in radio mode, changes tracks in CD mode, hold down for audible search within the song

Remote Dimensions: Diameter of outer frame=3.554", Cutout diameter necessary for chassis to mount in panel=2.994", Mounting depth of chassis=1.141", Mounting depth including fixed mounting bolts=2.181", Overall depth=2.751"

Industry Standards

Salt/Fog: The remote meets ASTM B117 salt/fog exposure standard.
