In either case,Clarion's EQS755 boasts 7 bands of equalization that'll allow you to fine-tune your sound, along with independent master volume, subwoofer level, and fader controls that'll keep your highs and lows in balance.

Ability for adjustability

The EQS755 features RCA inputs and high-level speaker inputs, so you can connect it to just about any system. It also features two AUX inputs — RCA jacks in the back and a 1/8" AUX input on the front panel — which you can select with the AUX switch on the front panel. The RCA AUX inputs offer variable gain so you can adjust for audio sources of varying levels, while a selectable low-pass filter at 60 or 90 Hz tames the wilder extremes of bass. The 8-volt outputs ensure that your amplifiers will get a clean, powerful signal for maximum performance.

Q
What's the current drawn from this EQ? Or what's the fuse size?
pedro  Dec 01, 2017
1 answer
A
I have never really measured the drawn current. Presently I have it connected to the same fuse that the stock radio came connected to. I believe it's a 10 am fuse.. I have had it this same way for the last two years, and i play loud everyday and double loud on Sundays.

Q
Can this be used on the stock Rockford Fosgate system in the Nissan Xterra Pro-4x's? I don't want to mess with the system , but would like more control over the sound beyond the stock Hi/Low adjustment.

A
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

Q
I am running high level inputs to this but my amp has a switch for high and low inputs. Which would input would I choose coming from EQ to the amp? It's my understanding that this EQ bumps the output?

A
Don't understand what u mean by bumps the output?next don't use high level input u get to much noise get a kit from Crutchfield & go low level u would be running too much wire.
tony  May 01, 2017
A
If you are using the high level (speaker) inputs you switch your amp to high. I'm using the low level (RCA) input in my setup. Most head units supply approximately a 4 volt signal to the amp. Using this equalizer, you bump that signal to 8 volts.
chad  Apr 30, 2017
A
I do not recommend using high level inputs..often times these can be connected incorrectly and as a result cause signal degredation. The only time you should really use high level inputs are if u using a stock radio that does not have low level or RCA connectors. So my answer to this is go to low level output from the eq into your amplifier and puybthe switch on low level inputs..

Q
So I'm thinking about using this in my Harley Road Glide Ultra. I like that this has hi-input, so I can plug the speaker wires to this EQ. The Harley Head Unit only allows me to adjust treble and bass, so this will really allow me to adjust the sound to more my liking. The Harley Head unit has 4 speaker output (front L/R and rear L/R). How would I go about using these 4 speaker wires into the 2 hi-input connections? What I want to do is connect my Harley Head Unit into this EQ, then connect the EQ to my Amp. The speakers connected to the amp have external cross overs for the tweeter and woofer.

A
Yes you simply connect the hi or line level plug that's supplied with the eq to your radio and you are done. This is a very clean sounding eq.
stepfonza  Nov 28, 2016
A
Separate your front and rear speakers from the head unit, these will be you two inputs to the EQ. There is no benefit to bridging to the EQ, so tie the positives + to each other and connect to the EQ, and tie the negatives - together and connect to the EQ. This will allow you to adjust the front and rear levels but will eliminate the ability to adjust left and right levels. If you would rather utilize the left and right adjustment, pair your front right and rear right and connect to the EQ, and pair your front left and rear left and connect to the EQ. However you decide to do it, just be sure to connect the positives and negatives correctly.

A
Only need to hook up 2 speaker wires to the input... front or rear speakers

Q
Is it possible to splice the power and ground leads into my factory harness to power? If not, how would you recommend wiring the power?
andy  Jun 08, 2016

A
Because the Clarion equalizer is also a line driver which means it also amplifies the signal level as well as Equalization. I like to run separate fused power directly from the battery. I like to fuse the power close to the battery and use the supplied fuse with the equipment as well. I have lots of equipment besides my processors so I use a number 10 wire and then Branch off inside the cab. I would recommend at least number 16 gauge wire. I also like to run a separate chassis ground find a good spot. You can get a lot of noise from sharing ground. As you probably know the blue wire turns the unit on and off good luck have a great day. I hope this was helpful.
jason  Jun 10, 2016
A
I'm sure it's possible but I spliced less as possible. I ran the power straight from the fuse box and I grounded it on a bolt behind the steering column.
frankie  Jun 09, 2016
A
Yeah,best way to do it
tony  Jun 09, 2016
A
It is possible. I do not recommend it. It is best to wire it to the power lead at the ignition switch and fuse it.

Q
I have 6 channels out from my Kenwood HD552U deck but this only has 1 set of main input. how do I connect my rear channel and my sub channel to this?
frank  Feb 13, 2016

A
You have to combine your front and rear channel together and connect your sub to eqs755 sub in that should work
tony  Feb 15, 2016
A
Use two y RCA adapters
sal  Feb 14, 2016
A
Okay you can use the receivers rear RCA output to the main of the clarion EQ. This will give the EQ a signal then you can use any of the EQs front rear and sub RCA outputs

Q
I'm sorry if this question has been asked but if I buy this to complement a HU that already has an EQ built into it & an amp with filters, will this EQ override all the other settings? I was thinking it's either that or you have to set the EQ settings on the HU/Amp to flat which would automatically allow the Clarion EQ to control settings...I also have crossovers at my amp for the Focal component speakers I have up front...how would the crossovers for the EQ fit in to the equation? Thanks in advance.
matt  Jan 05, 2016

A
Crossovers in series is never a good idea. Leave the head unit flat. You can use the equalizer in series with your crossovers. but not 2 crossovers in a row. Give your amp crossovers full signal.
jason  Jun 10, 2016
A
Yes you can have full control of your head unit eq and crossovers. I think the Clarion EQ is a good investment, this EQ can have your ears ringing with the highs and lows plus you can adjust the sub and master volume
kevin  Jan 26, 2016
A
Yea that right just set the head end unit to flat. And use the clarion to EQ the speakers off an after market amp. that's what I did and it worked great sounds better that the EQ on my head unit that's for sure.
steven  Jan 07, 2016

The Eq.will work with the system,it doesn't make any difference about the settings on the H.U.i have a axxera av7225bh I bought from Crutchfield along with the Eqs755 and I can adjust the tones thoughtout,u can go flat at the h.u.or at the amps.u just have more options that's all have fun and play with it,u can set the deck & amps at one point & use eq to add or subtract from your settings your choice enjoy it I am later.....
tony  Jan 06, 2016
A
I think they would both still affect the audio. With my setup, I used the amp to set a good baseline EQ, and then used the equalizer up front in the car to fine tune the sound, and have the ability to change it based on different types of music
