Clarion's M303 marine CD receiver offers built-in iPod® and iPhone® controls that give you mastery over your music collection, including genre/album/song title search using your iPod control wheel. If you're a Pandora® Internet radio fan, you can even listen to your favorite stations when your iPhone's connected via USB. Song and artist information is clearly displayed on the sharp-looking black-on-white display. Of course, you can also play your favorite CDs, including music you're ripped to disc in MP3 or WMA formats.
This isn't just Bluetooth, it's Parrot Bluetooth. Parrot, an industry leader in Bluetooth electronics, brings you the convenience of hands-free calling, plus wireless music streaming from your Android Smartphone. The M303 uses a built-in microphone to pick up your end of the conversation, and you have the option of adding an external mic for even better call clarity.
The M303 is built for long-lasting durability, but it's also designed to give you outstanding sound. The 3-band parametric equalizer lets you adjust the highs, mids, and lows to suit your preferences, while the bass boost circuit is always ready to add a little extra boom to your boating. You can use the built-in frequency filters and sub controls to get the best possible performance from your system.
Clarion's excellent AM/FM tuner hauls in plenty of stations when you're within range. And this receiver works with the latest SiriusXM tuner (not included), so you can enjoy satellite radio's amazing variety of entertainment, news, and sports channels when you're miles and miles offshore.
Need more control? Just place a Clarion MW1 wired remote control near the helm and control the receiver installed below. Or, you can pick up Clarion's MF1 remote and enjoy the freedom of wireless control.
If you're looking for a versatile, multi-source receiver that's tough enough to handle the extremes of a marine environment, the M303 has a lot to offer. Clarion invests thousands of hours into making their marine electronics tough enough to withstand salt water, heavy fog, blistering sunlight, and lashing rain.
Note: Bluetooth compatibility with this receiver may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.
iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Average Customer Review(s):
Great sound and easy to use. It replaced a JBL that was difficult to use. I like this stereo so much better.
This is a great head unit that allows you to be the ultimate DJ on the water. With all the options to have music such as, Bluetooth, CD, Rear USB (to hook up ipod or other MP3 device) and I opt for SiriusXM (SXV200), you cant go wrong. If you run out of tunes on the water it your own fault. I also attached a MW1 remote on the back of the swim platform, so I don't have to leave the water to make song selections. I also like the Parrot Bluetooth which provides hands-free calling making it simple to make calls.
Good unit. Bought it mainly for Bluetooth capability on the boat so we could stream music. I also bought the WiFi controller thinking it would give us great control from the phone anywhere near the boat, but it is basically a waste. When the phone is connected to the Clarion WiFi, the phone attempts to use it for data and stops streaming music through through cellular source. Would be nice to have a bit more control over the head unit with wifi, but you can set the head unit volume and then control the volume from and iPhones volume buttons.
Pros: good unit
Cons: some controls that we want to use on the boat for zone control (fader) not the easiest to get to through the face controls. wifi add-on not worth it.
Bought this product after reading reviews, and figured it would have been a sure purchase. After 2 years of having it in my boat, the receiver started to malfunction and then just stop all together. After pulling the receiver out of the boat to diagnose the wires to see why it wouldn't have been working I noticed a large amount of corrosion and quite possibly even a slight burn from contact. I thought clarion would have been a great choice. I guess maybe I got the bad one in the litter. And of course it being a boat, only get to test it 4 good months out of the year. Last time I'll be buying a clarion. Let's see what product support tells me I have to do.
Great sound-lots of features-easy installation.
Pros: Lots of features; not going to use all of them.Excellent sound, good directions and relatively easy to install.
Cons: As with all new radios it is hard to program if you are not electronic oriented. Not a criticism ,observation only.
Great sound for the money. I wish the salesman would have suggested adding remote control to purchase.
Pros: Great sound easy to hook up
Cons: Does not come with remote!!!!
This stereo was actually for a friend's boat. His original stereo is 13 years old and it really made sense to update with a Bluetooth capable unit. The wiring harnesses didn't match, but I was surprised how easy it was to make the proper connections anyway. And then the improvement in sound was amazing. I couldn't believe how great the finished system sounded. The original unit was a Clarion, but the new one is ten times better sounding. And of course it has BT capability. On a boat, Blutooth is really convenient. This project really turned out awesome.
Pros: Everything about this project was positive, I still can't believe the performance of the new Clarion stereo and how easy the replacement was to install.
This head unit replaced an older Clarion FM/Cassette which came factory installed with the boat. The speaker/power multi pin connector was identical to the older unit so installation was a breeze. The old wired remote was not compatible however, (no surprise with the additional features) but the Clarion MF1 radio remote works perfectly without any programming. Replacing the old Clarion with this unit was as easy as plug and play. Custom 3 band equalizer gives a nice rich sound although i may still upgrade to a power amp. One minor correction to the specs: The face has a blue and white display.... nice indirect lighting in the cabin. Note that the four pre-amps can power either four speakers or two speakers and a sub-woofer. Have yet to connect with Blue Tooth so hoping that goes as well.
Pros: Easy installation, great sound, detachable face, looks great. lots of features
Cons: USB and Aux input are on the back rather than front, wires must be routed somewhere to be accessible.
I replaced my older Clarion with this one with the desire to take advantage of the Bluetooth connection. My biggewst complaint is the Bluetooth appears to only work with Apple porducts. How hard is this? In my car I am able to hook any device I want though my Bluetooth. Marine Stereos are really behind the times in myh opinion. This unit also does not connect with my old remote and the new remote is roughly the price of the stereo.
Pros: The sound is equal to my old unit.
Cons: Bluetooth is very limiting. The user interface is horrible. Who ever has the job of designing this unit should find another proffesion.
Sounds great with a pair of 9 inch Pioneer Speakers. Exceptional bass without an amp.
Pros: Easy installation. Great sound.
Cons: Can't think of any.
I had an old Clarion Cassette radio that originally came in my ski boat. I wanted to upgrade to something more modern with the capability to connect my iPod. It has many other features, but this was the main feature I wanted. This is a great receiver/radio that has really great sound and all the best features that I could have wanted in a stereo unit for my boat. I had to call customer service to ask one simple installation question and I was pleasantly surprised that their tech assist line was open late on a Saturday afternoon. The person that answered the tech line knew the answer right away and I was off the phone with the answer in only a couple of minutes. I got it connected and Wow! It sounds great, looks cool and I love it! Now, I can't wait to add an amp and upgrade the speakers. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I am really happy with Crutchfield and the Clarion product.
Pros: It's packed full of features.
Cons: You gotta read the instruction/owner's manual to figure out all the features and the functionality of the many buttons. It's easy after you spend a few minutes with the manual.
Manual written by monkeys. If you want to amp a sub you lose amping rear speakers. Why Clarion didn't include 6 outs on this unit is incredibly stupid.
Pros: Standard stuff
Cons: Menu for audio setup is difficult to understand. Why not have USB input on front of head unit like everybody else?
excellent product with all the bells and whistles. easy to install and setup.
Pros: ease of install. Bluetooth setup easy.
better unit than I had expected, replaced an old sony explode which was stock in my Malibu Wakesteer, WORKS GREAT
This radio works Great! Being I have a jeep wrangler and get caught in the rain quite often, I have no worries of the radio getting water damage. It was easy to connect thanks to crutchfield support team
Pros: Water resistant Easy to connect Works with iPhone and pandora
Cons: None yet
According to the Specifications, this was supposed to be the radio that is compatible with the old MW2 remotes for a boat. It is not, forcing you to either buy foreign parts, or buy new cables and remotes and rewire the complete system. The box is plainly marked, yet doesn't work, even after calling Clarion tech support. At $130.00 each, these remotes, plus the 25 ' cable at $30.00 times 2 or more is cost probhibitve.
Pros: Has the USB option for the IPhone, and Pandora
Cons: Had to rework Stereo connections; Buy a Canadian Y Adapter to make old wired remotes work; Cost extra Labor Does not take the 6 CD changer anymore either.
This unit sounds good, it charges and plays my IPOD and it has a connection for a wired remote.
Pros: charges and controlls my IPOD and it sounds good
Cons: wires for the speakers are a little short
Love it so far. It sounds great. The controls are intuitive. The Iphone Bluetooth connection has worked flawlessly. I hve my XM coming through the aux on the back and it is working great. Looks good too. What I really really love is the floating waterproof remote. I do not have to be at the back of the boat to control the stereo. I also have it mounted by the driver so that when underway I can run the stereo without having to lean over. I have not done it yet, but I believe I can be on a ski behind the boat and still control the stereo -- although I am not really into having the music so load boarders and skiers can hear it. People go to the lake to get away from the City noise -- why bring it to the lake. But I bet I can if I wanted to!
Pros: Bluetooth, controls, ipod/iphone charging, available floating remote, and having crutchfield there if you need support (they will have your back if needed?)
Cons: The mounting bracket for the available remote could be better. You have to use a really tiny screw to have the screw not cause the bracket to interfere with the remote. This should be an easy engineering fix. As it, it nearly renders the mounting bracket inoperable.
Great value, Easy to install dropped right in where my old radio was including using the same sleeve.
Pros: Good Quality Sound from all input sources, CD, FM, AUX, USB, Blutooth. Able to play Pandora and XM SAT via my iPhone using Blutooth along with my other music in my library.
Cons: Continiously reminds you that the unit has Blutooth Connectivity available and is SAT ready. It scrools on screen too often.
Great unit for the boat. I was able to use two remotes with head unit
Pros: user friendly
Cons: Blue tooth somtimes pauses music
Great product, replaced an older Clarion unit (10 years?), so I simply plugged it in to the wiring connector. Great sound, RF Remote works great, as does the XM/Serius module. Recommend.
This Clarion M 303 is one great value. I have only used it twice but it connects wireless or USB for more control. I have used my I PAD my sons I POD my wife's and my I PHONES and my sons HTC. Great sound, easy to use and looks nice in my Mastercraft Pro Star 190. Extremely happy.
Pros: Easy to install, user freindly, great sound and most important to me the bluetooth
Easy to install. Easy to operate. Bluetooth works wonderful. Nice and clear.
Pros: Bluetooth. Sound quality. Simple
Cons: Needs better way (more options) to adjust bass and treble.
This product was very good. I especially like the Bluetooth feature.
Pros: Bluetooth and easy to install.
I bought this mainly for the bluetooth streaming of Spotify & Pandora. works Great has a good range to stream with phone. Very good sound
Pros: Bluetooth!! & USB in a marine radio at a reasonable price
Cons: No Aux input in the front
Very satisfied with this stereo. Using it in my boat paired with a MW1 remote. I have it paired with my iPhone 4S. Nice having the ability to plug in via USB and have full control of the iPod as well as pandora control. Or switch over to Bluetooth audio streaming and I can still switch to next song on iPod or pandora. In Bluetooth streaming as well as usb, the radio and mw1 show all the track info which is nice to see. When a call comes in the called id is shown on both the radio and Mw1 remote as well.
Pros: USB music connection as well as Bluetooth streaming.
Cons: Only 2 sets of pre amp RCA outputs. Clarion should know that many boat owners try to fit as much sound as possible while out on the water. What better way then with amplifiers for all speakers.
Great replacement for my 2001 Mastercraft Prostar 209. Cant wait for the upgrade with USB and Bluetooth with my iPhone.

Marine Tested: The Clarion M303 Marine CD receiver has been engineered and tested for use in the harsh marine environment. The M303 meets ASTM B117 and ASTM D4329 guidelines ensuring the receiver's resistant to salt, fog and UV exposure. The receiver features a drip shield chassis to keep water from dripping onto the unit's internal circuits. In addition, the head unit's PCB and microprocessor are conformal coated to protect them from corrosion.
Water Resistant Covers (optional): Even though the conformal coating makes the receiver water-resistant, it is still recommended that it be used with a universal marine cover such as the Metra (120999005B, sold separately) or Scosche (142ACM1, sold separately).
Bluetooth Technology (powered by Parrot): The Clarion M303 is equipped with built-in Bluetooth ver. 2.0+EDR (powered by Parrot), allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:
Note: The Clarion M303 may not be compatible with all Bluetooth enabled phones or audio players. Visit Clarion Bluetooth Support for complete list of compatible phones and players.
Pairing: Before using your Bluetooth enabled device, it must be paired to the M303. You can register up to five Bluetooth enabled cell-phones with the Clarion marine head unit (only one paired phone can be used at a time). The Clarion M303 can be paired with most Bluetooth enabled mobile phones, including the Apple iPhone and most Android Smartphones.
Hands-Free Communication (w/ Integrated Microphone): The M303 supports Bluetooth hands-free communication from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The M303 can be set to automatically answer your incoming calls and mute any music audio to your vehicle's speakers so you can instantly carry on a phone conversation hands-free. An integrated front-panel microphone carries on your side of the conversation while your car's speakers are used to hear the other person. You can make a call by entering the phone number, selecting a contact from your Phonebook list, or using the Call History Log of received/dialed/missed calls.
Optional External Microphone: The Clarion RCB-199 (020RCB199, sold separately) is an external microphone which can be connected to Clarion M303. The RCB-199 external microphone provides better performance in noisy environments than the integrated microphone found on the front-panel of the head unit. The microphone features an attached 13.25' cord terminated by a right-angle male 3.5mm connector which plugs into the microphone input on the rear-chassis of your compatible Clarion head unit. The microphone also features an integrated sun-visor clip for mounting the external microphone in your vehicle. The integrated bracket allows the microphone to swivel left-to-right and rotate up-or-down.
Wireless Audio Streaming (w/ metadata): The Clarion M303 also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The M303 will be able to control your stored music's basic playback functions; such as Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, and Fast-Forward/Reverse. The M303 also supports audio streaming of music apps from your smartphone with basic control and metadata display. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.
AM/FM Tuner: The Clarion M303 is equipped with a built-in AM/FM tuner offering manual, seek, & preset tuning. 18 FM station presets and 6 AM station presets can stored. Stations can be stored manually or automatically. Preset scan receives the stations stored in the unit's preset memory in order. This function is useful when searching for a desired preset station. You can also store one radio station in Instant Station Recall (ISR) memory and recall it from any mode (except Power Off). Once the ISR station has been recalled, you cannot tune to another station without first disengaging the ISR function. You can, however, switch to another source. When Local seeking is turned "On", only those radio stations with strong radio signal can be received.
Pandora App: The Pandora App (free) lets you play music from the Pandora music service through the Clarion M303 using your connected Apple iPhone, via the USB/Dock cable supplied with your iPhone. The Clarion M303 provides control over the Pandora music service and displays Artist, Album, and Song information. You can select Pandora stations from your station list and sort them by date or alphabetically (A-Z). Or, you can create a new station from the current playing artist or song. You can also skip song tracks within a station. You can even give songs a thumbs up or thumbs down. To access Pandora you must have an Apple iPhone (iOS3 or later) with the latest version of the Pandora application from Apple's iTunes App Store. Your iPhone will need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi. You will also need a Pandora music service account.
Note: Access to the Pandora service will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet. Pandora is not supported in Canada and only available in the United States.
SiriusXM Ready: The Clarion M303 comes ready for SiriusXM programming with access to XM & Sirius Satellite Radio stations. Thanks to its proprietary SiriusXM Connect port, you can add the optional SXV200V1 SiriusXM Connect tuner and receive more than 150 channels of exclusive programming directly from SiriusXM, via the "SiriusXM All Access" package (subscription required). Visit SiriusXM.com for a complete list of subscription options & channel guide. Additional features of the SXV200 SiriusXM Connect tuner include:

The USB port enables audio playback and control of MP3/WMA audio files stored on portable USB mass-storage class devices. USB portable audio devices that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the CD receiver's USB port (max. 0.5A), and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On. |Apple Device||Generation||Tested Version||Media Type||Control Type||Display Type||Bluetooth||Charge|
|Audio||Video||Head Unit||iPod/App||Pandora app||Artist/Song Text||Track Info||Phone||Audio|
Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.
Auxiliary Input: The M303 features a rear-panel stereo Auxiliary input, so you connect your external portable audio player or portable satellite radio receiver to this head unit. You can set the Auxiliary input sensitivity level to Low, Mid, or High to match the volume output of your connected external audio device.
MOSFET Amplifier: The Clarion M303 employs a MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) power amplifier capable of delivering 45W (Peak) x 4ch of high quality sound with superior linearity & less distortion than conventional power amps, even with the volume cranked up.
CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the M303 are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the M303 are as follows:
BeatEQ: BeatEQ lets you tune the sound to your liking, depending on the category of music, for a more fulfilling listening experience. The Clarion CD receiver provides 4 preset EQ curves (Bass Boost, Impact, Excite, Off) and 1 custom EQ curve. Bass Boost emphasizes the bass portion of your music; Impact emphasizes the bass & treble portions of your music; Excite emphasizes bass, midrange & treble portions of your music; while Flat sets the bass, midrange, & treble to 0. The Custom EQ lets you freely customize the frequency, Q-factor, and level of the bass, midrange, & treble.
|BeatEQ (Custom Mode)||Frequency||Q-Factor||Level|
|Bass||50Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz||0.7, 1, 1.4, 2.0||-7 to + 7 dB|
|Midrange||500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz|
|Treble||5kHz, 10kHz, 15kHz|
Note: BeatEQ settings are applied to all sources.
Magna Bass EX (Extend): The Magna Bass Extend feature does not adjust the low frequencies like the normal sound adjustment function, but emphasizes the deep bass frequencies to provide you with a dynamic sound. This circuit boosts bass at an ultra-low frequency of about 50Hz, creating a rich, deep, defined bass rather than the muddy, booming bass of a standard loudness control. What is more, boost levels are dependent on the system volume, resulting in balanced system response and dynamic bass reproduction.
4ch/2V Preamp Output: The Clarion M303 features 4ch/2V RCA line level outputs (Front/Rear). The unit's rear preamp outputs can be configured as a dedicated non-fading RCA subwoofer output with a low-pass filter and level control (+/-6).
Built-in Crossovers: The Clarion M303 is equipped with built-in low-pass and high-pass crossovers.
Beep: The marine head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.
Ergonomic Face Design: The Clarion M303 features an easy-to-use rotary volume control and easy-to-read illuminated buttons on the face which are laid out in an asymmetrical design to place the most used features within a specific area for ease of use and less user distraction.
Digital LCD: The single-line digital LCD, with white background and black characters, on the M303 allows numbers and characters to be displayed clearly in all lighting conditions.
Illumination Dimmer: The receiver's display automatically dims to a preset brightness when the vehicle's headlights are turned on. The wiring harness includes an orange/white lead that should be connected to the vehicle's parking light circuit in order for the dimmer feature to operate.
Screen Saver: This unit is provided with a Screen Saver function which allows you to show various kinds of patterns and characters in the operation status indication area of the display in a random order. You can turn this function on or off. If the button operation is performed with the screen saver function on, the operation display corresponding to the button operation is shown for about 30 seconds and the display returns to the screen saver display.
Detachable Face Security: This unit features Detachable Face Security. A face-case is included to protect the unit's faceplate when detached. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can also be purchased for this unit
Wired & Wireless Remotes (Optional): The unit is equipped with a rear mounted 8-pin DIN connector to accommodate optional Clarion wired & wireless remote controls.
Note: When two remotes are used in combination with one another, Clarion's Y-adapter (020MWRYC, sold separately) is required.

Its water resistant not waterproof. If you are going to install in an area that is always exposed then I would go with the CMD8 Watertight Marine CD/USB/MP3/WMA Receiver instead. It is waterproof and has a stainless steel chassis if you are around salt water. [ Chris Jun 20, 2016 ]
Mine is installed in the cabin. It is water resistant, not waterproof (like a watch). It is meant to be installed in a boat either outside or inside a cabin. No different than any other stereo on the marine market. I have found it to be a great piece of equipment. [ MIchael Jun 20, 2016 ]
mine is in cabin, but is made well and should be fine. I would not want direct water on any radio. if exposed to elements I would add cover to any unit. [ Charles Jun 20, 2016 ]
Mine is in the cabin so can't really say. [ MIchael Jun 20, 2016 ]
Yes .Have not had a problem. Mine is on a pontoon and not in direct sunlight. [ JOHN J Jun 08, 2016 ]
I i'm not sure as I mounted it in my cabin. It is a very bright display though [ Edward Jun 08, 2016 ]
Sure. Same as a car stereo except its for a Marine application. [ MIchael Jun 20, 2016 ]
yes, its made to handle marine environment. but will do fine for a car. has been a very good unit for me [ Charles May 20, 2016 ]
Obviously it is for a marine application but why not. It's just a radio. There may not be a kit for it like other units that are meant to go in cars so you might have to custom it up. But it's basically just a radio that was meant for the sea. You could put a radar/GPS combo in your car if you wanted. All this stuff need is a 12 volt environment. Good Luck. [ MIchael May 19, 2016 ]
Absolutely! It is a standard single DIN head unit just like many car stereos. [ Robert May 17, 2016 ]
I Don't see why not, it is the same as an auto unit, just waterproof. [ Matthew May 17, 2016 ]
Absolutely. It is the same deck size as any standard unit but you may need an adapter plate depending on the size of your factory unit. [ Chris May 17, 2016 ]
Works great with an iPhone. Don't know anything about the Samsung. WestMarine had this model on display and I was able to try it out/pair it right in the store. However bluetooth is bluetooth so I don't see why it wouldn't. [ MIchael Jun 20, 2016 ]
Yes [ David Mar 30, 2016 ]
Yes [ Robert Mar 30, 2016 ]
Yes it sure does. [ Marla Mar 30, 2016 ]

I don't know anything about your unit but the physical difference between the old Clarion that came with my boat in year 2000 and the new unit year 2014 is exactly the same. The remote controller on the old unit was a six (6) pin and the new unit is an eight (8) pin. So that was not comparable. Had to upgrade to a newer remote unit as well if I wanted to use that function. [ MIchael Jun 20, 2016 ]
I bought an aftermarket adapter on-line and use my Old style remote. all feature do not work. but basic functions work. if you type in search you should be able to find it. was about $35 [ Charles Jun 20, 2016 ]

Unless the new unit has a remote connection cable, it will not work. Many of the new units do not have this cable connection. [ Adam May 26, 2015 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Krissy May 14, 2015 ] Staff
Not necessarily. I would call Clarion directly if possible to get compatibility information. I had to swap out my remote radio controller when I replaced my old radio, even though my old radio was a clarion. The remote controls were not compatible with the new radio. They had the same wiring harness and everything going to the remote, but the wiring was still different. [ ERIC May 14, 2015 ]
It should work with your Druid if it has Bluetooth compatibility. As far as older Clarion models if they support Bluetooth they should work as well. [ KEITH Jan 29, 2015 ]
Thanks Daniel and everyone for the response... -DD [ DogDaze Jan 29, 2015 ]
Yes absolutely [ DANIEL Jan 29, 2015 ]
Thanks Travis.. yes.. boat stuff.. 98 vintage Cruisers Yachts.. :) [ DogDaze Jan 29, 2015 ]
Not droid compatible other than basic blutooth. This head unit is horrible though- display is blinding bright without dimmer functionality and sound processing made my speakers sound like a low budget tv commercial. I've already replaced this head unit because I couldn't stand it. Seriously save your money and buy something else. [ RYAN Jan 29, 2015 ]
Hi Joe. The unit does have an 3.5mm input as well that would work for your Droid. It has Bluetooth as well that works great. I'm not sure on the older CD changer. I replaced this unit on my boat that had an older clarion system and it was all plug and play. Hope that helps! Travis [ TRAVIS Jan 29, 2015 ]

I don't know. With bluetooth they has never been a reason to plug my phone into the stereo. Also, with it installed understand that the USB is located in the "Back" of the radio. Not sure why they did that since obviously folks are going to dash install and you won't have access to the rear of the unit. Of course they do sell an extension adapter. [ MIchael Jun 20, 2016 ]
Doesn't seem to [ David Mar 30, 2016 ]
I never use the USB ports so I'm not sure. Sorry [ JOHN Jun 07, 2014 ]
It should charge an Iphone, not sure about others. [ TODD May 27, 2014 ]
Yes the Usb will charge. [ WAYNE May 23, 2014 ]
Hi Shawn, I plug my Ipod into the USB port on the M303. The M303 does charge my Ipod while the M303 is powered on. I am very pleased with the M303. It was a great upgrade for my boat. I highly recommend this unit. Take Care, Anthony [ ANTHONY F May 22, 2014 ]
Have no idea. Bluetooth works great with my iPhone. I think you'd need to ask that question from whatever manufacture bluetooth speakers you are considering. [ MIchael Jun 20, 2016 ]
This is not compatible with Bluetooth wireless speakers. The Bluetooth feature is in Input feature, that allows you to sync your phone to the headunit for handsfree calling and playing music from your phone to the stereo. [ WAYNE May 23, 2014 ]
It is Bluetooth capable for cell phones. It can be used as a hands free device. It will also accept input from the cell phone for items like Panda, Sirius XM. I don't know if it will send the signal out for a wireless speaker. I will have to test my Logitech D200 on my Dad's boat on Memorial Day Weekend. [ KEITH May 14, 2014 ]
Same question about connecting to a Bluetooth speaker. Guessing No? [ Robert May 13, 2014 ]
You need a subscription and also a Sat Radio antennae. No different than a car. [ MIchael Jun 20, 2016 ]
You need a satellite antenna. They sell some that are sirius and GPS combos at West Marine. And they are satellite ready but just like in a car you'll need a subscription. [ MIchael May 19, 2016 ]

what sirius xm tuner works best? [ William Aug 09, 2014 ]
No you need to buy a separate SiriusXM tuner. From Crutchfield website: "Terrestrial and satellite radio-ready, Clarion's excellent AM/FM tuner hauls in plenty of stations when you're within range. And this receiver works with the latest SiriusXM tuner (not included), so you can enjoy satellite radio's amazing variety of entertainment, news, and sports channels when you're miles and miles offshore." [ EDWARD Mar 11, 2014 ]
This receiver actually has a harness that ends in bare wire for connecting to speakers (the RCA connections are pre-amp outputs for connecting amplifiers). You can see a diagram of the harness on page 21 of the manual here: http://pix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/020/020M303.PDF [ Jeff Feb 25, 2014 ] Staff
