Q
Is there wired or wireless remote contros for Clarion GR10BT?
donald  Feb 19, 2024
1 answer
A
The Clarion GR10BT does not have any remote controls available Donald, either wireless or wired. If you have a gauge-style opening on your boat for your radio, you could consider using the Kicker 46KMC2 radio in the first link below, which does have a wired remote option with the Kicker KRC12 in the second link! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20646KMC2/Kicker-46KMC2.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20646KRC12/Kicker-KRC12.html

MW1 es compatible con radio clarion del año 2004 XMD3?
carlos  Feb 19, 2024
1 answer
A
Desafortunadamente, Clarion cambió a un control remoto de 8 pines. El MW1 utiliza el nuevo cable de 8 pines. Su XMD3 utiliza el enchufe de 6 pines de estilo antiguo.

Will this work with a Fosgate receiver?
jason  May 30, 2023

This Clarion MW1 remote will only work with select Clarion brand receivers, Jason. Depending on your specific remote needs you may be able to consider the Rockford Fosgate PMX-BTUR all-weather Bluetooth remote in the link below which can work with any receiver that has Bluetooth capability. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_575PMXBTUR/Rockford-Fosgate-PMX-BTUR.html

Q
Can an MW1 be connected via the Y cable to the same head unit (M508) with an MW3?
kerry  Mar 14, 2023
1 answer
A
I see no reason why not, Kerry. Though the MW3 has been discontinued, I do show compatibility with the Clarion M508 radio. If you already have one on board and would like to add the MW1, the Clarion y-cable in the link below is the best move! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_020MWRYC/Clarion-MWRYCRET.html

Q
How do u control zones with this remote? I have a M508 head unit as well! Thanks
brian  Jun 02, 2021
1 answer
A
What do you mean by zones? I have two remotes. One at driver chair, and other on transom. Both remotes control the head unit seamlessly. With no transfer. It's just extension of the head using so it's just like operating the head unit buttons.

So will a Clarion M1W remote work with a Clarion M505 head unit?
vernon  May 12, 2021

A
Yes
dan  May 12, 2021
A
The M505 is a discontinued product. However, the M1W will work with that headunit. You will also need to purchase the cable to connect the remote to the headunit. If you need a suggestion on an in stock headunit the Clarion M508 will also work with the M1W remote.

Yes the wired remote should work. The owners manual for a 505 has the option for the wired remote. The remote works pretty good sometimes it is a little slow with the display but works well.

Will this work with the Clarion XMD3 Marine AM/FM CD Player that i have in my Searay 270SD Year 2005?
derek  Oct 10, 2020
1 answer
A
I doubt it. I would fit my 2003 Clarion. I upgraded to a new Clarion and bought this but its not the same size as the old version so I returned it.
william  Oct 14, 2020
Q
Does this remote allow you to use the Bluetooth Source device to control the volume? Our new Clarion deck does not allow volume control only song selection from the iPhone.
cindi  Jun 07, 2020
4 answers
A
It should. I had an older Clarion deck and remote. When I upgrade the deck I also bought the remote but it was much larger that the original so I returned it as I didn't want to mess up my dash.
william  Jun 24, 2020
A
No it does not allow volume control from the source
raymond  Jun 22, 2020
A
This is just a remote and will control the volume of any device connected to the head unit. It can be connected via Bluetooth, auxilary cord or USB. The issue that you are having has nothing to do with the head unit or this remote to the head unit, it is a direct result of your iPhone's Bluetooth interface software and what it will allow control of. Try using a USB connection directly to the head unit and see if that allow the volume control from the phone?
christopher  Jun 22, 2020
A
NO

Depends on how old your talking about. I replaced the remote on our older Clarion ( 7 years old ) and it worked just fine. Plugged right in with no problems. You might want to check with the product experts before you buy.

Q
I have the M505 and MW1 remote. I cannot get the back light to turn off on the MW1. I have the yellow (memory) going straight to battery power. The orange (illumination) and red (power) are tied to switched power. As soon as I connect my battery, the M505 stays off but the MW1 lights up. The only way I can make the back light go off is to disconnect the yellow. Disconnecting the orange doesn't make a difference. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

I'm wondering if the Clarion MW1 units are sealed better today? I have purchased 2 in the past and neither lasted a year. Both developed condensation inside the display and stopped working.

I have not seen any major changes though I do know a few people that had these and had minor issues with fogging. Is this on the transom and if so does it see too much water? Ours is under a hardtop so humidity and quick wash down is all it sees. Maybe take a look at mounting to see if it's all sealed properly etc. my buddies transom mount he ran a bead of caulk around the outside to keep water penetration to a minimum. Hope I helped.

Just Trying To Find Out If These MW1 Remotes Have The Extra Terminal On The Back? I See That Some Online Have It And Some Don't. Also Just Wanted To Confirm That This Terminal Connection Is For Adjusting The Brightness Of The Display. Thanks!

Thanks guys. I know a lot of the remotes only have the one big wire coming out of the back, but some people I have talked to have an extra terminal in the back (including ones on other sites). I was hoping to find some input on if the terminal is for the brightness (my old clarion remote had one). I want to buy it from Crutchfield along with everything else though, but they still have not been able to tell me why it's there and why theirs doesn't have it. The issue is because of how bright the glare is when boating down the river at night. Thanks again for your replies.
joseph  May 05, 2014
A
Hello, the MW1 has only the one main wire out the back that plugs directly in to the clarion head unit. There is no extra terminal for display brightness. If it helps, my MW1 is mounted on the outside of my boat right at the swim platform and it has the perfect amount of backlighting. I have no trouble seeing the display in any light. Rick
