Clarion's Platinum Series component speaker systems bring exceptional audio performance to your vehicle, combining smooth sound, solid power handling, and extended high-frequency response. The SRP1320M system consists of two 5-1/4" woofers, two 3/4" tweeters, and two crossover networks. Included 5"x7" adapters and a coaxial mounting option give you plenty of installation versatility.

The superior sound of components
The 5-1/4" glass fiber woofer is supported by a rubber surround that allows plenty of cone movement for solid lows. Precision porting in the cast aluminum frame allows hot air to escape from the woofer's motor assembly, so it'll handle plenty of power.

Install the 3/4" silk dome tweeter in an appropriate position in your vehicle, and you'll hear a sharp stereo image that'll bring new realism to your music. Each tweeter comes with surface- and flush-mount adapters for installation. The outboard crossover network sends the correct frequencies to your woofer and tweeter for maximum efficiency.

Installation versatility
You can convert each woofer to a high-quality 2-way coaxial speaker, by removing the phase plug in the center of the cone and installing a tweeter there. You'll also find two mounting brackets that allow the round woofers to fit into many oval 5"x7" and 6"x8" factory speaker openings.

Why install component speakers?

A component speaker system gives you the best possible performance from your car audio system. A system consists of separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers, each designed to cover one specific range of frequencies. As separate components, the woofer can move freely to deliver more powerful performance, while the tweeter can be custom-mounted in a better spot up closer to your ears, revealing a whole new world of detail. Separate crossovers are far superior to the simple filters wired into full-range speakers, so the components work together for smoother, more focused sound.

Clearly Suprised

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I own a 5 series BMW. There are not a huge choice of speakers because of size limitations. The price of these are the primary reason I purchase them. Well the installation went very easy just as Crutchfield told me it would. Power source is 4x60rms Amp. I was truley blown away by the clearity and crispness of the Clarions. Imaging, even with these Mid-Fi seperates, is very apparent. I highly recommend the Clarion SRP1320M. From quality of construction, power handling, easy and flexablity of installation, and manufacturer I am very happy with my choice.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product, this is about my 4th sound system I have put together and
is by far my favorite. These speakers are very clear with highs and mids
and the cross-overs are very helpful for sound quality. My favorite part
about these speakers is the option to put the tweeter inside the speaker
instead of drilling on expensive cars.
My system includes

Kenwood KDC-HD942U head unit
Clarion SRP1620M
Clarion SRP1320M
6408 Amp for the speakers
1608D Amp for the subwoofers
2 Alpine Type Rs SWR-1222D

Fit Notes

Woofers: The 5-1/4" Glass-Fiber cone woofers have rubber surrounds. They feature S.E.T. (Spider Exhaust Technology) cooling, allowing hot air to escape the speaker's internal motor assembly via computer designed porting. The phase plugs in the center of the woofer cones can be removed and the component tweeters can be mounted in their place, creating a coaxial speaker. The woofer magnets have protective rubber covers; if they are removed the magnet diameter decreases to 3.112 inches.

Tweeters: The SRP1320M includes 3/4" pure silk dome tweeters with neodymium magnets. The tweeters are mounted using the included flush mount, or surface mount housings; they can also be mounted to the woofers, after removing the phase plugs.

Tweeter Dimensions:

Frame Diameter Cutout Diameter Mounting Height Mounting Depth
Flush Mount 1.798" 1.418" 0.497" 1.038"
Angled Surface Mount 1.461" Screw holes only 1.506" 0.6" (screw depth)

Note: See Fit Notes below for dimensions when the tweeter is mounted as a coaxial speaker.

Crossovers: The system includes two crossovers, the crossover inputs and outputs are screw terminals and will accept bare wire or spade terminals (0.3" maximum width). The crossover slope is 12 dB/octave.

Tweeter Attenuation: Each crossover has two positive tweeter outputs, choose 0 dB (no attenuation) or -3 dB based on the tweeter position and personal preference.

Crossover Dimensions:

  • Length: 4.654"
  • Height: 1.348"
  • Width: 2.575"

Fit Notes

Coaxial Mounting: When the tweeters are mounted on the woofers, the speakers have the following dimensions:

Speaker Size Mounting Depth
Mounting Height Tweeter Protrusion Flange Height Cutout Frame
5-1/4" 2.168"/2.368" 0.316" 0.116" 0.2" 4.486" (diameter) 5.227" (diameter)
5"x7"/6"x8" 2.068"/2.368" 0.416" 0.116" 0.3" 4.882"x4.830" 5.507"x7.608"

5"x7"/6"x8" Applications: Using the supplied adapter bracket you can mount the woofer in many 5"x7" and 6"x8" applications. If it fits in a specific vehicle, the speaker will be listed as an option in the Crutchfield Fit Guide.
