Clarion's Platinum Series component speaker systems bring exceptional audio performance to your vehicle, combining smooth sound, solid power handling, and extended high-frequency response. The SRP6920M system consists of two 6"x9" woofers, two 1" tweeters, and two crossover networks. A coaxial mounting option gives you plenty of installation versatility.

The superior sound of components
The 6"x9" glass fiber woofer is supported by a rubber surround that allows plenty of cone movement for solid lows. Precision porting in the cast aluminum frame allows hot air to escape from the woofer's motor assembly, so it'll handle plenty of power. Each woofer comes with a tweeter installed — you can remove the tweeters for separate mounting, then replace them with the included phase plugs.

Install the 1" silk dome tweeter in an appropriate position in your vehicle, and you'll hear a sharp stereo image that'll bring new realism to your music. Each tweeter comes with surface- and flush-mount adapters for installation. The outboard crossover network sends the correct frequencies to your woofer and tweeter for maximum efficiency.

Why install component speakers?

A component speaker system gives you the best possible performance from your car audio system. A system consists of separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers, each designed to cover one specific range of frequencies. As separate components, the woofer can move freely to deliver more powerful performance, while the tweeter can be custom-mounted in a better spot up closer to your ears, revealing a whole new world of detail. Separate crossovers are far superior to the simple filters wired into full-range speakers, so the components work together for smoother, more focused sound.

Features

Woofers: The 6"x9" Glass-Fiber cone woofers have rubber surrounds. They feature S.E.T. (Spider Exhaust Technology) cooling, allowing hot air to escape the speaker's internal motor assembly via computer designed porting. The 1" component tweeters in the center of the woofer cones can be removed and the included phase plugs can be mounted in their place, creating a component speaker. The woofer magnets have protective rubber covers; if they are removed the magnet diameter decreases to 4.262 inches.

Tweeters: The SRP6920M includes 1" pure silk dome tweeters with neodymium magnets. If removed from the woofers, the tweeters are mounted using the included flush mount, or surface mount housings.

Tweeter Dimensions:

Frame Diameter Cutout Diameter Mounting Height Mounting Depth
Flush Mount 2.089" 1.708" 0.546" 1.155"
Angled Surface Mount 1.760" Screw holes only 1.631" 0.6" (screw depth)

Crossovers: The system includes two crossovers, the crossover inputs and outputs are screw terminals and will accept bare wire or spade terminals (0.3" maximum width). The crossover slope is 12 dB/octave.

Tweeter Attenuation: Each crossover has two positive tweeter outputs, choose 0 dB (no attenuation) or -3 dB based on the tweeter position and personal preference.

Crossover Dimensions:

  • Length: 4.654"
  • Height: 1.348"
  • Width: 2.575"

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm very dissapionted in Clarion. I have a Deville and I installed these speakers about 2 months ago and I must say that the mid range is terrible. I have a JVC KDS100 and its great but these speakers just cant handle the power. On a lower volume they sound good but turn it a little and they fall apart. The highs stay true and very clean but overall Clarion dropped the ball this time.

Incredible

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My ride is a 2006 Crown Victoria LX:
I installed the Clarion SRP 6920M in the rear (Custom mounting 1" spacers) and Clarion SRP 1320 M in the front doors powered by a SONY CDX-GT630UUI HU, Clarion APX 4241 4 channel AMP and accompanied with a Infinity Basslink sub.

The sound produced by these speakers is the best I've ever heard; it's deep, rich, and distortion free, even at higher volumes. I was amazed at the price Crutchfield was selling them for!

The fact they could be converted to a component system made the installation very effective.

Thanks Crutchfield

Great deal on a component system

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Quality looking construction and materials. Using them in a 00 Civic and they sound great. Very clear and crisp sounding and not too harsh. Using a Pioneer AVICD2 head with <20W per channel. Bass response is good alone, but I also supplement with a 12" sub. I also paired these up with the 5-1/4" components for the front and they sound great together.

I like the ability to mount the tweeter on the woofer or separately since this gives you plenty of options. The hardware also comes pre-fitted with the connectors you likely need, which was very convenient for installation.

The tweeter is a bit on the small side and I needed to set them to the +3db setting on the crossover for satisfactory highs, but they seem to handle high volumes well. No noticeable distortions at even very loud volumes, from what I could hear.

Overall, very pleased with the purchase, especially for a quality component system at the clearance price.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these because they were on sale. Figured if I didn't like them, I would put
them in my other car. But these sound really good. They are tight, but i'm sure they will
loosen up. They are hooked up to a Pioneer 4100DVD reciever and a Polk Audio 400.1
amp thats rated at 75wats per channel. I have the amp up about half way, and I don't
want to go any more because they are loud. I don't have any dynomat or sound
dampening at all. They put out a nice amount of base if you set them up that way. I have
mine set up for mids as I have a JL stealth box with 2 10s for base. All in all I would
recomend them for someone looking for low budget all around good sounding speaker.
I heard the tweeters were very bright, but I had no problem at all. They sound good to me.
Honestly I have no cons about these. Thanks Crutchfield.

Not Impressed

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am very disappointed in this system. It was installed in the rear deck of
an 02 Sonata. My Eclipse AVN 6620 headunit sounded alot better with the
factory 6X9's which are rated 20 Watts RMS. The tweeters are the only
plus. I ended up using my factory speakers with this component system
and now have a cleaner much sound.

AMAZING

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are incredible. Excellent build quality, had installed in the front doors of an 08 Sequoia "Very tight fit". Mid Bass is phenominal, tight & thudding. Low end is fair. Keep in mind that high end component speakers are designed to separate the sound throughout. A Sub would complete the sound spectrum. Their being powered by a Pioneer PRS-D4200F, with a Kenwood DNX7140 headunit. Would highly recommend
