Compact 4-channel amplifier — 50 watts RMS x 4

80 Reviews | 19 questions - 58 answers

Overview

Our take on the Clarion XC1410

Clarion's XC1410 4-channel amp delivers 50 watts RMS per channel from a chassis that's about as long and wide as a dollar bill. This micro-sized amp can fit almost anywhere, even behind many dashboards. And Clarion managed to pack more watts per square inch inside the XC1410 than almost any other 4-channel amp made.

It's a micro powerhouse

Super-clean signal

The XC1410's circuit design resists the electronic noise common in cars, so you will enjoy clean, distortion-free music. Soft turn-on and turn-off circuitry prevents potentially damaging thumps to your system as it powers on or off. Selectable high-pass filters help you clarify the sound by eliminating the extremely low bass that your speakers can't reproduce. You'll appreciate the high-level inputs that give you the ability to hook this amp up to almost any system, even those like factory stereos without RCA-type connections.

Great little gadget

2013 Ford F-150 XLT
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Small enough to fit behind the after-market head deck. Have this pushing 2 pairs of Infinity REF-8602cfx 6" x 8"/5" x 7" 2-Way Car Speaker, and the sound is great! Everything just sounds much crisper with added bass. It helps that the speakers measure at 2.4 O, so I get a bit more power than the 50x4.

Pros: Size and power for it's size

Cons: None at the moment

2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I researched extensively for options for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. I finally settled on a Clarion XC1410 amp (along with Polk db6501's and a Blaupunkt GTb 8200 A subwoofer). It all sounds great! I will admit, however, I wasn't willing to cut into the wiring harness on my new vehicle, since a plug-in adapter wasn't available, so I did have a local shop wire the amp for me.

Pros: Sounds great Small size Reasonable cost

Cons: No adapter for plug-in meant I had to get it professionally wired

works great at low volumes but cuts out when you try and turn it up, can make it to volume level 25-28 on a pioneer headunit that goes from 0-50, a decent head unit by itself will treat you better, save your money or go bigger

Pros: small size

Cons: low power, cuts out, poor sound quality even when being fed with 4-5v RCAs.

An improvement over factory, but Alpine unit is better

Written by: Karen from Tennessee on November 9, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had this unit professionally installed in my 2013 Tacoma with the factory head unit, and had a problem with a high-frequency buzz on all sources (the tech said it was because of a lack of a gain control on the unit), and also occasionally the source would have a delayed response and finally come on with a 'pop.' We swapped it out for the Alpine KTP-445U, and the improvement was substantial.

Pros: The Clarion amp improved the overall sound level, but the Alpine has a much cleaner sound.

Cons: Muddled sound quality, high frequency buzz, delayed response.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My aftermarket receiver I put in my 2013 Chevy Silverado did not have enough power to overcome road noise or my air conditioning when it was on high. I hooked up this little Clarion amplifier under my passenger seat and what a transformation. Suddenly I have the extra power to drive my speakers to new heights. I have more than enough power to fill the cab of my truck. It's hard to believe such a small amp could make such a big difference.

Pros: Small size. High level or low level compliant. 2 ohms stable.High pass crossover

This amp is awesome I just installed it in my 2013 Chevy Impala lt it sound great even with the stock speaker can't wait to see how it sounds with my new kicker speaker after they are installed the only issue was that the crimp on the fuse holder end was not crimped enough so fell out I just crimped it and all fixed . Just a heads up any one putting in the amp in a 2013 impala might want to use the power windows for the blue wire to turn amp on it will stay on after you turn car off for the ten minutes or till door is open .very glad I found this amp!!

Pros: Smal compact over all easy install fits pretty much anywhere.

Cons: Poor craftsmanship on power wire fuse holder

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This amp was so easy to install and set up. Sounds great. I couldn't believe the simplicity and ease of installation and the great sound that it puts out. I've only installed it a week ago so I don't know the longevity of the amp but it sounds great out of the gster. Small and compactact. Fit right in withe same hole as my 2 din radio. I was so surprised everything fit just as I planned in my head. That almost never happens. I would recomend this to any one who's looking to boost their stereo sound. The sound is crisp, no distortion. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Pros: Simple, color coded wiring, nothing to it if your a hands on type person. Easy to fit in small area. I spent about three hours connecting everything from the 10 gage wiring form the battery to the unit for proper power, installing an inline fuse close to the power source (battery). Connecting stereo to amp and amp to speakers then positioning amp to fit behind 2 din stereo. I looked at many amplifiers before I purchased clarion and now I'm glad I did and happy I settled with this amp.

Cons: None that I can find. Only installed it a week ago, so I'll have to see how much abuse it will take

Little stick of dynamite

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Have to jump on the love fest for this little amp that puts out big, clear, detailed sound. Bought for my 98 Wrangler like many other TJ owners out there, but I would buy this little bugger again for any car. I'm using it to power Boston Pro Components in the front and 6 1/2" Boston coaxes in the soundbar. The DSP in my JVC head unit combined with the power of this amp is just sonic bliss. My wife thinks the stereo is now too loud which is why I'm giving it 5 stars. For those needing to fill out the low end, I recommend the JL Audio XD 200 combined with a JL 8" Microsub. That combination worked exceptional for me in my GTI and the same setup is now being used in the Wrangler while taking up minimal cargo space.

Pros: Small footprint Great value Impressive clean power output Coated circuits perfect for open top Jeep Easy to install

Cons: None so far

Nice sound for the size

Written by: JVJeep from PSL , fl on January 3, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this for my 2000 Jeep Wrangler to go along with a new Sony head unit. The reason I bought it was add some loudness to my new kicker 4x6s and 5 1/4's. More importantly was the size of the amp. I was able to mount it behind the dash right under head unit. It fit like a glove and I didn't have to extend any of the wires for the speaker wire that were right there. Sound is clear and crisp for the price. I'm lacking some lows, but I think that's out the reach of this system. A powered sub box is in my future.

Pros: Size, price, sound

Cons: Small cheap labels on the speaker wires would have saved a few minutes.

Great amp when needing to save space

Written by: Coach from Lexington, KY on July 22, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I own a highly modified Jeep YJ and have been dealing with cheap radios for trail tunes for years due to destroying sound systems because of the elements. Those cheap systems lead to barely serviceable sound. This is the second of these I've purchased. The first was for the GF's Cherokee. After setting her sound system up with this, JVC head unit and new speakers, I was very impressed. Music was clear, had a punch without being overwhelming and just flat out sounded good. Since the system I put in my GFs XJ made me a bit jealous, I decided it was time to upgrade the sound in my YJ and this unit fit the bill for the very limited amount of room in a Jeep. Larger amps can easily sit under seats, etc, but because of the use of my vehicle, I needed it up and out of the way. The size of the JVC digital media receiver and this Clarion amp was the best combination to make what I have work. The head unit and amp are being run into a sound bar tied into the cage in the front and the rear speakers are 6x9s in a VDP sound wedge.

Pros: Compact size. Good clean, crisp power.

Cons: None. Any limitations are due to the size and price range of the amp. If you need more power and more features, then look for a bigger amp. This amp does *exactly* what it was designed to do.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the Clarion XC1410 amp to compliment the Kenwood head unit and Kicker speakers that I was installing in my 2005 MINI Cooper S Convertible to replace the dying Harman Kardon sound system. Once finished, this little amp drives the new speakers harder than the HK system did with the factory speakers. The sound quality is crisp, clear, and the bass is better than the HK ever delivered, even before I added the Sound Ordnance powered amp to the setup a few days later. I am very happy with this product, and its small size allows it to fit neatly in the back of the vehicle and behind the side panel, like a factory-installed product would. I was skeptical that I could top the sound quality and performance of the HK system, but this amp in combination with the Kenwood KDC-358U blows the HK away. Add to it the Sound Ordnance B-8PTD powered subwoofer, and this MINI is a rockin'! Keep in mind, if you are replacing the MINI HK sound system with a new one, you need to run new speaker wires, and I did, but it was not as hard to do as I thought it would be. Get yourself a Chilton's or similar MINI service manual, and it will show you how to pull everything apart in the MINI that you need to pull out to run the new wires. Crutchfield's notes do not show a lot of this, but their technical support team was top-notch in responding to my questions via phone.

Pros: Small size, good power, excellent sound quality.

Cons: None!

Wow!

Written by: JaredW from Central, NE on January 25, 2014

First off, I tend to research hours and hours before buying something like an amp even if it is only in the $100 range. I seen these when the first came out a year or so ago and was a little skeptical so I waited until some reveiws started showing up. Well, I pulled the trigger on one of these last week. I am running it in an 04 SCrew Ford with a Kenwood Excelon 697 deck and 6x8 infinity kappas all around. The main reason for getting an amp is because the Kappas would make my old Kenwood clip out after listening to it loud for about 5 minutes. So this is what brought me to this Clarion. Install is very simple with basic stereo knowledge. Got it all hooked up last night and WOW!! My Kappas scream now. Can't even believe how much this amp makes a difference. If this thing impresses me it is sure to impress you as I am very picky and it takes a lot to impress me on items like this, especially for a little over $100. Worth every penny. I will be getting another one for my CJ7 no questions asked. Turn it up!

Pros: small, hides almost anywhere. Easy install. Basically just as advertised.

Cons: Not a single one as of yet.

This amp is solid, not too heavy and small. The amp surprised me when we fired up the system, very little distortion at full tilt. This amp fit right behind my Kenwood KDC-BT755HD. If you lack mounting space, this amp should be on your short list. Don't forget to connect the "blue wire" to your stereo's blue wire (you will know what I mean, if your amp doesn't power up).

Pros: Night and Day difference in sound. Output Power to physical Size ratio is fantastic. Super easy to install. Fit right behind my stereo (Jeep TJ)

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had an aftermarket Pioneer Nav unit installed, there was an improvement over stock in sound quality, but nothing spectacular. I ordered Alpine 6x8's for the front and kickers for the rear, the sound quality was bumped up a bit again. I decided to give this amp a shoot as it would be more than double the RMS wattage of the deck, but was small enough to fit behind the dash. I am impressed with the improvement in sound and that it can be cranked up quite a bit and still be clear. I recommend this amp for those limited on space, but need the clarity at a higher volume than the deck amp can provide. Easy install other than the color of the remote trigger wire was different than in the documentation.

Pros: Great improvement in Sound and good value for the price

Cons: instructions weren't 100%

Small & Powerful, But.......

Written by: Nelson from Kansas on August 30, 2013

The clarion XC1410 amplifier does pack a lot of output power into a small space. That being said, I was disappointed with several aspects of the amplifier once installed. First negative was that the audio input harness is molded into the amplifier and cannot be unplugged. The second negative I had is a bit more subjective. When pushing the amp a little, it quickly developed a "harshness" in the sound quality when reproducing higher frequencies. Third, after having the amp installed for a few days, I began to have start up problems with it. about 1 in 15 times while starting the vehicle, the amplifier would not unmute the speakers, producing no audio output. The only way to restore normal operation was to either shut off the vehicle, or pull the power fuse to the amp. I cannot recommend the Clarion, especially since the much more capable Alpine KTP-445U is only a few dollars more.

Pros: Small, powerful, & efficient

Cons: Intermittent power up problems, no connector for input harness, much less flexible than the Alpine KTP-445U.

Nice and small. Replaced the amp under my seat on my '05 Jeep Wrangler which got ruined when I went wheeling through a real deep mud hole. So I got this and put it in the bottom of my Tuffy center console. Works great, super easy install. Each wire has printed on it what it's for i.e. front right speaker, rear left speaker.

Pros: Small, powerful for size, simple, easy connections, intuitive

Cons:

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used this little amp in a cooler radio pushing 2 pairs of Polk MM 691. The amp did get warm but never shut down or missed a lick! It was understandable seeing how there's no ventilation with the lid locked down. Excellent product for the size and price! Easy to install and set up. Circuit board is coated so, its not splash proof, but I would not hesitate to put one on my Mule or four wheeler where weather may play a part in the operation.

Pros: Size! Small enough to fit anywhere. clean and crisp from the lows to the highs and crystal clear.

Cons: Can not think of one right now.

Nice little amp, love the size and the power output is surprising. I am using this as a replacement for the 8 channel factory amp in a 2002 Trans Am. Required a little research and some extensive splicing to take out the factory amp, but seems to be worth it so far. It is powering 4 6" dual speakers. It is just a start until I can get a sub amp and get the hatch speakers powered up also.

Pros: size, it is mounted in my glove box with room for my manuals and everything else. Power output, clarity.

Cons: none yet

It's only been in use for a month, but appears to be a well made, high quality product. The compact size of this Amp made it possable for me to mount it behind my head unit.Has two controls "gain and frequency" so it is very easy to set up. There is a WOW factor to this Amp. Small in size, but big on sound! Now i know how mid and high frequencies are suppose to sound. This Amp will bring new life to your sound system!

Pros: Compact size, great sound!

I purchased a new head unit and awesome speakers for my boat and was disappointed with the distortion at higher volume. This amplifier greatly improved my system by clearing up that distortion and boosting the output and volume. I now have clean mid and low ranges and great bass.

Pros: Compact and easy to mount and hook up.

Cons: none so far.

This amp is incredible its extremely small, Powerful & Easy to install. I was debating on what amp to put on my 2003 Honda Odyssey as I am a DJ and I use my Odyssey to transport my DJ equipment., So I did NOT want a BIG Amp.or want to re-wire any speakers. This Amp is small It fit inside the dash under my single din radio on my 2003 Honda Odyssey I im powering 4 Polk audio Component speakers and it sounds GREAT. NOTE: If you want to add 10 speakers to your car and expect it to SCREAM this is not the amp for you this Amp has enough power for 4 speakers remember its 50 watts RMS NOT 200 watts RMS......Over All I will def. Recommend this Amp Great Value for the $$$

This unit rocks.I have installed this in my 1976 Sea Ray 220 SRV. I have a Kenwood 550u connected to it with Polk Audio 4 by 6 plates in front with Bose 151,s in back. Also I have a Polk Audio db840dvc sub connected to an old Jensen 250 watt bidgable amp. Wow, what clarity, I can turn the volumn all the way to max. and it is still perfectly clear. Great job Clarion.

I was looking for that little extra boost and had a limited amount of room to work with in my boat. I added this amp to my Clarion head unit and bought some JL speakers to complete the package. It was easy to hook up and adds the clarity to the higher volume levels that I was looking for. Great bargin.

Pros: easy to install

Cons: need to make sure you ask about the wiring. This amp has a limited wire harness; meaning you will probably need more power and ground wire.

Maybe good for a subwoofer

Written by: DR from Winston-Salem, NC on July 21, 2013

This amp is a class D amp good for subs only and it has no range. (I learned something new today) It was recommended by Crutchfield because I wanted something small to fit under the dash (not an ideal location for any amp and it ended up under the seat) I was very disappointed in the quality of sound from this unit. It got a few good reviews and I bought it. Bought this as part of my replacement of my factory system including: Kenwood KDC-X997, Polk Audio db5251, component speaker system, Kenwood KAC-8405 amp. Sound Ordnance B-8PTD Subwoofer and the steering wheel control module. Re-wired the entire system (speakers, power, and remote on) The Kenwood amp is what this amp wishes it was.

Pros: Easy to install, small size

Cons: Sound quality, lack of adjustments

Clarion XC1410 Great little power amp!

Written by: Chris J from Oakdale, California on July 20, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the Clarion XC 1410 to add extra power to my Clarion CMD8 Marine Receiver with Clarion Speakers. I Used the power amps RCA connectors to hook into the Receivers RCA connectors. Installation was very simple. The Amp works great for what I wanted, as I wasn't expecting a ton of thunder (sound) coming out of my speakers in my 18ft fishing boat, but it really did boost the performance of my receiver and speakers dramatically , giving me great sound. I was very surprised! I added a on/off switch to the units power turn on lead, as I don't need the extra power to listen to the Baseball or Football game on AM radio. With the flip of the switch, I can turn off the amp saving me battery power. I don't get any humming or popping when the amp is on, just clean power.....If I was a wake boarder, water skier, or lake cruiser I would want a higher power amp than the XC 1410, but I'm at the lake to fish, not listen to loud music. Overall, Crutchfield and Clarion offer a great price to power amplifier.

Pros: small size to power ratio, price.

Cons: None

Small size large performance

Written by: JohnT from Waterrtown NY on July 18, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Big performance in a small package. I am using this amp in combination with a Clarion CMS 1 head unit and 4 Polk 4" 2 way speakers in the fairing... I used the RCA connections to hook the amp to the stereo and couldn't be happier. The amp fit easily inside the fairing of my touring bike, the wiring was simple, and the sound quality is fantastic. The CMS 1 by itself was actually OK, but with the added power and sound quality the amp added, road and wind noise at (even illegal) highway speed is great. And so far power consumption is lower than I had imagined it might be. Once my 26 year old classic is above idle speed my amp gauge runs at 13.6 volts or a bit higher. Power consumption is also stable in as much as I have it wired to just a 15 amp fuse on my accessory panel. I did leave the 20 amp fuse inline as well. Future plans include installation of a total of 8 speakers on the bike, as soon as I come up with locations for the other 4. I can get away with this because the amp is stable to 2 ohms.

Pros: Great sound , value, and ease of installation

Cons: None

Excellent tiny amp!

Written by: Brian Mc from San Diego on July 2, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The main reason I bought this amp was due to it's small size and the stated amplification level. Also I am placing it in a very small car plus I didn't want to drill any holes in the aluminum frame of my car. I wasn't really expecting much in the amplification of the sound but i was extremely wrong. Just a dramatic increase in sound and clarity from my old stereo without amplification. The ease of installation was also a pleasant surprise and I will definitely buy another one of these tiny Clarion amps for my other project car!

Pros: Small size that you can place in any open place in your vehicle, even under the dash!

Cons: None so far.

Great little amp. Good power and very clear even through the high volumes. Have it paired with 2 sets of srq-1722s 6-3/4" components custom installed in my doors and rear deck. Install was a breeze for me just added some new bullet connectors and a few short RCA cables and done. Tucked it right under my center console. The bass delivered through the pairing is very good too

Pros: Power size install time price

Cons: Only thing I can think is not being able to use your own wiring which made no difference to me

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this Amp due to it size and power for the DBS 21 Polk Audio 5 1/4" speakers I have adapted into the front speakers and Sound bar on my 2004 Jeep Wrangler. I have a Clarion Stereo which I bought from Crutchfeild and the system works excellent! The amp is small, so I could fit it under the dash because there is not a great deal of room in a Jeep. The Quality is excellent! Great Choice.....

Pros: Excellent sound and volume with no top on the Jeep. Small and fits under the Dash, great Choice for the Jeep owner and not too expensive.

Cons: Haven't found any yet, love the Amp.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a Alpine CDE-HD149BT head unit. I am using RCA inputs and running four Infinity Kappa 682.11cf's (2ohms). This unit is absolutely putting out more power than the Alpine KTP-445 amp that I was using! There is no turn on "pop" at all. The music is crystal clear and freaking LOUD in the cab of my Ranger super cab! The unit is small like the other amp I mentioned. It can be used with RCA (which I am, along with my head units remote turn on lead) or speaker level inputs. They recommend at least 10 gauge power and ground wires. The manual says to use low gain for RCA inputs and high gain setting for speaker level inputs. There is a high pass filter on it with Flat (off), 60hz, and 90hz settings. This amp is outperforming my old one by a fair amount and I would recommend. Installation is pretty simple and straight forward. I feel that it is a exceptional value for the low price. I took a chance on this new product and am very glad that I did. I haven't taken my head units power much above half and it is almost crazy inside my truck cab. SWEET

Pros: Loud, Clear, no "Pop" turning on, an inexpensive way to upgrade your sound system

Cons: none, I love it

Features

RCA Inputs: The Clarion XC1410 has two pair (front and rear) of female RCA inputs. When using these inputs, set the gain switch to Low.

Speaker Level Inputs: The speaker-level inputs are 9-1/2" wires attached to the amp. When using the speaker-level inputs, set the gain switch to High.

Crossover: The built-in high pass crossover can be set to 90 Hz, 60 Hz, or Flat (the crossover is bypassed and the output is full range). The crossover slope is 12 dB/octave.

Power Harness: The included power harness plugs into a pigtail harness attached to the amp, for a total of 15" power and ground wires. The power wire should be connected directly to the battery, so it will likely need to be extended; Clarion recommends 10-gauge as the minimum power and ground wire size. An in-line fuse holder on the power wire holds the included 25-amp ATO style fuse.

Speaker Output Harness: The included speaker output harness plugs into a pigtail harness attached to the amp, for a total of 15" speaker wires. The remote turn-on wire is also in the speaker output harness.

Yes. I would use the speaker/ high level inputs for the front and rear. Saving the preamp/ sub out for a sub woofer. I.e. Bypass the clarion with the sub out. [ Tim  Jan 11, 2016 ]
Wish I could help. Had mine professionally installed [ JOEL  Jan 08, 2016 ]
I don't think so. The manual only shows two installation scenarios, using all four rca inputs or all four speaker level inputs; using a mix of the two is not mentioned. Additionally, there is only one gain switch for the unit, not one for the front and one for the rear -- the gain switch is used to switch the amp between high-level and rca-level inputs. they make (and crutchfield sells) level matching devices, but that may be more complication/expense than you are looking for. [ ANDRE  Jan 08, 2016 ]
Installation instructions are very easy to follow. I would highly suggest purchasing a vehicle specific wiring plug adapter. with the instructions and adapter, installation is almost fool proof. make sure grounding procedures are followed to eliminate engine noise in the receiver. I Would as good practice. For example if you pull off the power and it hits the ground that would short but not blow the internal fuse. But if you had an inline fuse as close as possible to the battery, you'd be protected [ JACOB A  Mar 27, 2015 ]
Mine is mounted in a motorcycle fairing. I do have the hot lead coming from an added fuse block that powers all of my accessories but you do not have to wire it that way with the included inline fuse. [ ERIK  Mar 27, 2015 ]
I would its a added protection [ ERIC  Mar 27, 2015 ]
Yes- that is what I did. Fuses never hurt to have either Especially if you don't want to replace your battery and wires. Fuse it up! [ MATTHEW R  Mar 27, 2015 ]
There is really no point in adding an addional fuse, it will only increase resistance. I have had this unit operating for two years now without incident. The amp kits you buy are for much bigger amps, dont waste your time or money. Just buy some quality wire the same size that is on the amp, i think it was either 12 or 10awg [ SCOTT  Mar 27, 2015 ]
If your stereo has RCA output jacks you use them for the inputs. The XC1410 also has wires that you can go to your speaker wires. If you look at the picture, see the wires that come out near the RCA leads ? Those are all inputs to the amplifier, use either set. The other side of the amplifier is the power in and wires that go out to the speakers. Am very happy with this amplifier. [ JEFF  Feb 12, 2015 ]
They are low level inputs from the receiver. The speaker wire on that end of the unit are the high level inputs. Use the high level with a factory receiver and the low level with an aftermarket receiver with RCA outputs. [ KEVIN  Feb 10, 2015 ]
I used them with some extension rca wires to plug into the back of my reciever. That way i got 4 channels. You can also use the wires for input. I suppose you get a cleaner input from the shieded rca inputs. It is a very good amp for the size and money [ SCOTT  Feb 07, 2015 ]
on the back of your aftermarket radio you will see corresponding rca jacks. its one of 2 ways to hook it up. the other is through the speaker wires. if you use the rca jacks. plug one end of wire to front red/white and the same on back of radio. then rear speaker same way [ KENNETH M  Feb 06, 2015 ]

This will be based on available diagrams and length of your factory HU harness. I was able to find a detailed diagram for my Subaru Legacy HU harness and tapped r.left spk,r.right spk.,power constant, and ground all behind the stock HU. Then just ran the rca's up to the loc and the control knob out. [ Jesse  Sep 20, 2015 ]
depends? is there a current amp installed you can pilfer rca and speaker wires from? if not it will require some knowledge of electrical systems, etc. depending on year that can be perplexing. good luck. i had one of these. make sure you vent it well. mine would get really hot under prolonged loud volume, eventually just popping once and dead. i would not recommend this amp. Actually i use it to run four Three way Pioneer 6.5 speakers nice sound. [ WILLIE  Jun 11, 2014 ]
By design it is a 50 watt per channel amp, so it would be 50 watt to each channel regardless of number of speakers connected. I've seen 2 subs wired to 4 channel amps (utilizing all 4 channels) in the past, but I don't know the wire configuration. I don't think it would be the best use of this specific model though. This is a really good little amp for pushing the highs and mids in my Jeep Wrangler. [ TIMOTHY  Jun 02, 2014 ]
there are 4 leads coming off the unit itself connected internally so the answer is no, unless you splice the rt front and rt rear leads together and do the same with the left side then it might work. this unit does not have a switch to change it from 2 channel to 4 channel, its strictly meant for 4 speakers. I used a 4 speaker setup and it sounds great. its definitely not going to win any sound competitions but it is a nice boost over just the deck. [ DAVID  Jun 02, 2014 ]
As far as I know this is a 4 channel amp so the power would be the same on two speakers as it would be with four.I am running four speakers and it sounds good in my wifes car. [ MARK  Jun 01, 2014 ]
I used this Clarion amp to push 4 Sony XS-GS1621 6-3/4" speakers in my 2007 Mercedes and it sounded awesome. By far the loudest and best sounding stereo I ever built. Very well built product. I also used an Audio Control LC7i line converter in front of it so I could retain the factory stereo and clean up any signal distortion from it. All in all I was very happy and impressed with the amp and would definitely buy it again. [ KEVIN  May 30, 2014 ]
You can't go wrong with these. Infinity Primus PR6500cs 6-1/2" component speaker system - also fit 6-3/4" openings For the price they are clean crisp and loud! They will get the most out of this little amp, which is deceiving for its size. [ SCOTT  May 30, 2014 ]
thanks timothy. Do you re-call the brand and model speakers you installed? thanks donny [ donny  May 29, 2014 ]

I purchased alpine 6 3/4 speakers (4) from crutchfield, and installed the amp into my 2008 Silverado. Freakin awesome set-up. My son is 16 wanting to do a system in his S-10, and his only hope is its as good as mine. The bass is great, with no sub. JVC headunit great also. Can hide that amp in elcky pretty easy im sure. Glove box is huge compared to mine. Friend bought same size alpine amp for his jeep with good results. Jeep cant get good sound from soundbar. No depth for speakers to work right. Good luck. No; you can use a distro block. Remember though, wire gauge is derived from current draw. You will need to determine your initial size from the battery to the distro block based off all of your amps combined current draw. [ JOSHUA  May 11, 2014 ]
You don't need any separate kit it can be connected to your original hornet and don't let the size deceive you this amp is powerful. I use it to power my mids & highs exalent sound quality. [ JEREMIAH  May 10, 2014 ]
Ecellent. Thanks for the reply. [ Jason  May 10, 2014 ]
I have it installed in the fairing of my motorcycle. I only have 10 gauge leads and it rocks. Folks 3-4 motorcycles back can hear it loud and clear. It gets a little warm but so far has not missed a beat. [ KENNETH M  May 10, 2014 ]

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory wiring. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Jeff  Dec 26, 2013 ]  Staff
