About the Clarion XC2410

Charlie Pastorfield

Compact powerhouse

Clarion's XC2410 4-channel amplifier delivers 50 watts RMS per channel from a chassis that's about the size of your hand. This micro-sized amp can fit almost anywhere, even behind many dashboards. And Clarion managed to pack more watts per square inch inside this little powerhouse than almost any other 4-channel amp made.

Compact powerhouse

Clarion logo

Clarion's XC2410 4-channel amplifier delivers 50 watts RMS per channel from a chassis that's about the size of your hand. This micro-sized amp can fit almost anywhere, even behind many dashboards. And Clarion managed to pack more watts per square inch inside this little powerhouse than almost any other 4-channel amp made.

Ready for outdoor work

The XC2410's circuits are coated on both sides for protection, so this amp is a great candidate for powering speakers in ATVs, boats, and other challenging applications. Clarion nickel-plated all the connectors to resist corrosion and ensure electrical flow, even during harsh conditions.

Super-clean signal

The XC2410's input circuitry resists the electronic noise common in cars, so you will enjoy clean, distortion-free music. Soft turn-on and turn-off circuitry prevents potentially damaging thumps to your system as it powers on or off. Variable high-pass filters help you clarify the sound by eliminating the extremely low bass that your speakers can't reproduce. You'll also appreciate the high-level inputs, so you can hook this amp up to almost any system, even to factory radios without RCA  connections.

Features

RCA Inputs: Two pair of female RCA line level inputs (front and rear) are attached to the left end of the amp with 7" wires.

Speaker Level Inputs: The 8" speaker level input wires are also attached to the left end of the amp.

Crossovers: The front and rear channels have built-in independent high pass crossovers. The crossover points are continuously variable from 15 Hz to 250 Hz and the slopes are 12 dB/octave.

Gain: The front and rear rotary gain controls are continuously variable; the range depends on which input you're using:

  • RCA: 200mV to 8V
  • Speaker Level: 600mV to 20V

Power Harness: The included power harness plugs into a pigtail harness attached to the amp, for a total of 18" power and ground wires. The power wire should be connected directly to the battery, so it will likely need to be extended using a 10-gauge or larger wire (the attached power and ground wires are both 12-gauge). An in-line fuse holder on the power wire holds the included 40-amp ATO style fuse and another in-line fuse should be added close to the battery.

Speaker Output Harness: The included speaker output harness plugs into a pigtail harness attached to the amp, for a total of 18" speaker wires. The remote turn-on wire is also in the speaker output harness.

Can I wire this directly to my aftermarket stereo to power the 4 speakers and use the rca outlets from the stereo for a seperate amp to run my subwoofers?
cheyenne  Apr 03, 2022
1 answer
A
The Clarion XC2410 does have speaker-level inputs you can use to tap in for signal instead of using the RCA preamp inputs.

Q
I bought this amp and my marine stereo doesn't have outputs. Is there a way to connect it to 4 speakers?
jose  Jun 23, 2021
4 answers
A
Yes, I'm using it with the stock stereo in my 17 Silverado. You will need to wire it in line to each speaker. Mine works and sounds great with 4 speakers.
travis  Jun 23, 2021
A
Yes. Use the speaker wires to the speaker wire input instead of rca jacks. The amp handles both
david  Jun 23, 2021
A
This is a four-channel amplifier, you should have no problem connecting it to 4 speakers. Use the hardwired speaker level inputs and wire them to your current stereo speaker outputs. Ideally, you want to use the RCA inputs, but if you don't have them use the speaker level inputs. It should show you in the manual. I installed this over a year ago, great amp.
aaron  Jun 23, 2021

Q
I only have 2 front speaker outputs from the factory head unit, can I run 4 speakers with this amp?
dan  Mar 29, 2021
4 answers
A
Hi Dan, I do not have a factory head unit in my 2004 Jeep Wrangler. I used this amp to connect my four speakers to the Kenwood head unit I had installed. I'm sure that Crutchfield can recommend an adaptor that would allow you to use it with your stock head unit.
janine mc  Mar 29, 2021
A
Yes convert the high level speaker wires to low level with an rca connector
james  Mar 29, 2021
A
More than you will need.. turn it down and work your way up for best clarity
charles  Mar 29, 2021
A
Yes. This amplifier is set up to run 4 speakers. It has 4 connections total for speakers. If you're only running 2 outputs then you should split them into all 4 inputs of the amplifier. One output into two inputs.
daniel  Mar 29, 2021
Q
I switched inputs from speaker level to line level and noticed a significant drop in volume. Before I would max out at 15 and now at 20 it is still not as loud as it used to be. The volume was even louder without the amp. I'm hesitant to just crank the gain up, any suggestions? (gain was not adjusted when switching between speaker and line level)
kyle  Dec 14, 2020
1 answer
A
If you are using RCA line level outputs from your deck then this is the right move. If you are using the speaker outputs from your deck then go back to the high level outputs. You should be fine to turn the gain up on the amplifier. I have my gain all of the way up on the amplifier. As long as you aren't hearing distortion or any problems with the signal then you're fine. You want the volume to mostly come from the amplifier.

I am using this amp in 2 cars with success: 81 VW pickup under the passenger seat and a 74 Bronco on the inner firewall. So far so good, great sound, etc. I will say that both cars are not daily drivers but when they are driven it is in the TX heat...no issues at this point.
josh  Aug 27, 2020
A
I have mine in my glove compartment and it has been fine for several months. I think that it will be fine anywhere inside the car. I haven't noticed any extra heat coming from mine.
daniel  Aug 27, 2020

Q
I'm having clipping or skipping issues when I turn up the music. Positive wire is an 8AWG wired from the common post of the battery switch to the amp. Radio is a Fusion RA-70n. Speakers are two Pioneer TS-MS1640(6.5in) and two Pioneer TS-MS2040(8in). Any thoughts why this is happening?

I already purchased this. Now I want to run a subwoofer. Is t here a way to do that?
jim  Apr 13, 2020

Hi Jim, I purchased this for my 2004 Jeep Wrangler which has 4 speakers plus a sub-woofer in the console. Unfortunately, I couldn't run my subwoofer from it. I'll need to get the XC2510.
janine mc  Mar 29, 2021
A
It should tell you on the instructions how to run one
allen  Apr 13, 2020
Q
Do you need to use RCA Y splitters to bridge amplifier. If I am only bridging the amp into 2 channel mode. Do I need to run 2 sets of RCAs or just a single set? Does the amp split in the RCA input internally?
clint  Sep 20, 2017
2 answers
A
Yes, you need to buy two RCA Y / Bridge Adapters and one female to male RCA cable. It depends on what sort of Y adapter you buy. You do have to wire the speaker outputs a certain way, but it's been a couple of years since I wired mine, so I can't remember. The manual or an internet search should provide this information.
aaron  Jun 23, 2021
A
If I remember correctly you will need 2 sets of RCA cables for the input. You'll be bridging the output side. Basically crossing up the speaker wires.
michael  Sep 21, 2017
Q
Is there no switch to bypass built in crossover section so you can just use your recievers crossover?
tyler  Aug 17, 2017
1 answer
A
It has I high pass filter built in. The best way to use headunit crossover is to set hpf dials to the most full range and then utilize head unit filter

I have alpine type s speakers fronts are 5 1/4, 55rms and the rears are 6 1/2 and 80rms, will this amp be powerful enough for these speakers to really bang? I have an alpine hu that's 50x4, Thanks in advance

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
can the power (red) be spliced to the head unit power to avoid running to the battery?
joey  Aug 06, 2017
4 answers
A
They could, but don't do it. I would be concerned over the power draw from an "accessory" point. Pick up power for both units directly from a battery connection and use a switched power source to turn the units on when it gets power. I ran a 10 gauge wire (overkill) from my battery to the installation area of the amp and head unit.
john  Aug 06, 2017
A
I wouldn't. The amp is pulling a lot more power than the head unit. It should have it's its own power lead.
michael  Aug 06, 2017
A
I am sorry but I have not yet installed it on the motorcycle I cannot answer your question
william a  Aug 06, 2017
A
It would likely draw way too much amperage. Your head unit wires are too light a gauge and fused to lightly unless you have some unusual custom installation. At best it will blow a fuse somewhere. At worst ??? I ran mine directly to the battery using a fairly stout gauge of wire. PIA but I dont think there is a good alternative.
robert  Aug 06, 2017
Q
What concerns should I have driving a pair of Polk 6x9 marine speakers (rated for 150W continuous @ 2.7 ohms? I plan to bridge the output, as I only have the 2 speakers to drive. The amp will be in an enclosed environment (poor air circulation).
chris  Jun 27, 2017
3 answers
A
You should have zero concerns with your intended use. Mine is mounted in he upper half of the tour pack of my motorcycle. (Trunk lid) It is a small space in direct sun and I have no heat related problems. I am driving 2 speakers per channel resulting in 2 ohm loads to the amp. For its small size, it rocks. It has been dependable for over a year now.
john  Jun 29, 2017
A
I have mine under the glovebox of my jeep and haven't had any problems.
brian  Jun 28, 2017
A
I have this amp bridged driving 2 speakers at 4ohms and it is inside a Harley Davidson Road Glide fairing. Minimal airflow and have not had any issues.
michael  Jun 28, 2017
Q
Will this work in my 2010 Nissan Altima ?with Bose sound system /WO navigation system. I'm planning to replace the speakers and Amp but would like to keep my factory Radio
thomas  Oct 27, 2016
2 answers
A
Yes it will work fine. Use RCA jacks if your system has them. If not then use the speaker wires from your stereo and wire to the input wires of amp. That's what's great about this amp. If you get speakers don't get any rated for over 50 watts RMS.
gary  Oct 28, 2016
A
I would think they have a adapter. The amp works great in my jeep. It has high input and low inputs.
brian  Oct 28, 2016
Q
To wire this to a stock vw new beetle head unit (2003), could i just connect the speaker outs from head unit to the hi inputs on amp, then connect spekaer outs from amp to existing speaker wires in car. Then connect red (power) cable direct to battery and connect black (earth) to chassis?
mishy  Jul 31, 2016
2 answers
A
Yes that is exactly what I did worked great
james  Jul 02, 2020
A
That's correct. The included power harness plugs into a pigtail harness attached to the amp, for a total of 18" power and ground wires; so it will likely need to be extended using a 10-gauge wire in order to reach your battery. This EFX 10-gauge amp kit (25% off with the purchase of the amplifier) would do the trick for you: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_142PA10BX/EFX-PA10BX-Wiring-Kit.html I hope that helps!

Q
If I put this on a motorcycle and wire it direct to the battery, what makes it shut off when the cycle isn't running. Will it run down my battery?
nathan  Mar 31, 2016
5 answers
A
the blue wire, this wire is with the speaker output wires, and gets connected to the stereo remote output wire and should also be a blue wire.( at least on my Sony head unit it is)
larry  Apr 09, 2016
A
There's a blue wire coming out of the amp that you wire to any accessory power wire on your motorcycle (orange and white for HD) which will make the amp shut off when the ignition switch is in the off position.
david  Apr 03, 2016
A
Yes, it will. You need you put a switch on the remote wire so the amp turns off when the bike is not running or it will slowly drain your battery.
joel  Apr 01, 2016
A
The remote wire from radio to amp is what turns the amp on and off as long as your radio is wired correctly the amp will not drain your battery when off.
john  Apr 01, 2016
A
It has an internal relay that will only power on when the input wire is receiving a signal. This "power on" wire would either come from your radio, or could come from your ignition wire if your radio doesn't have a subwoofer signal wire.
trever  Apr 01, 2016
Q
is it possible to have an aux input into this amp?
kevin  Feb 21, 2016
2 answers
A
With an aux to rca cable.
david  Feb 24, 2016
A
There is no "AUX" input on this amp. However, there are speaker level inputs so I suppose if you wired up your own audio input jack: it could be done.
