The rugged Yamaha PDX-11 iPod/iPhone speaker system is designed to grab and go. Just take hold of it up by its metal handle and you're off. The PDX-11 features a unique octagonal case with a sturdy steel grille. Inside is a powerful 4" woofer to punch out mids and lows, and a 1-3/8" tweeter to deliver the high frequencies. Rugged Exterior (with multiple colors): Yamaha designed the octagon-shaped body to deliver stability, toughness, & style. You can choose from four colors - white, dark blue, green, or black; each accented by a color-matched, perforated steel grille.

Portable Design: The Yamaha PDX-11 is the ideal music companion for indoor or outdoor use. The PDX-11 can operate off of batteries (6 "AA" batteries; not included) & features a metal carrying handle so you can take it with you, wherever you go.

2-Way Speaker System: The Yamaha PDX-11 houses a unique two-way speaker system with a large 4" woofer that ensures strong bass & mid-range, plus a dedicated 1.1875" tweeter for the higher frequencies. The PDX-11 uses a bass-reflex cabinet for greater efficiency & added bass response. *The iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), and iPhone 5 will require the Apple Lightning to 30-pin adapter or Lightning to 30-pin cable (both, sold separately) in order to dock with this system.
Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to revert to the older software version or wait until a newer software update is available.

Remote Control: The PDX-11 comes with an IR remote control to operate the system & your docked Apple iPod or iPhone. The remote provides complete music navigation of your iPod or iPhone device, so you can browse your iPod/iPhone's music by category or Playlist. It also provides basic playback operations such as Play, Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, Next Track, & Previous Track. The remote operates off of a single CR2025 3V lithium battery.

Aux Input: The PDX-11features a rear-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting an external audio device with a standard 3.5mm audio output or headphone jack. Cable not included.

Power Requirements: The Yamaha PDX-11 can operate off of standard household AC current using the supplied external AC power adapter, or battery using 6 "AA" batteries (not included). 6 "AA" batteries provide up to approximately 8 hours of playback time.
