The most important thing the Yamaha RX-V675 delivers is amazing sound. You get seven channels of power, with advanced digital processing for sound that will bring your favorite films, TV shows, video games, and music to life. This receiver can decode the latest high-resolution surround sound formats, which lend even greater realism to many Blu-ray movies and concerts. Six 3D-ready HDMI inputs and compatibility with the latest 3D video sources and TVs make this receiver a perfect choice to not only upgrade your system but expand your entertainment choices. And that's when things get really interesting!
The 'V675 has a USB port in front — a perfect way to connect your iPod® or iPhone®. Play your favorite tunes and keep your iPod charged for your next excursion. The receiver bypasses the iPod's DAC and employs its own low-jitter circuitry for a pristine musical experience. With a smartphone and a home network connection, Spotify® subscribers can stream millions of songs from the popular music service's catalog. Plus, Yamaha's Compressed Music Enhancer restores your favorite songs to near-CD sound quality on playback. You can also use the USB port to listen to music stored on flash drives. And a front-panel minijack input lets you plug in any device with a headphone output.
Now you can enjoy video, games and more from your compatible Android™ device on your TV screen and surround speakers. MHL® (Mobile High-definition Link) will pass 1080p video and multichannel audio from compatible gear to your system, while charging your device. One back-panel HDMI input doubles as an MHL input for use with compatible smartphones and tablets, so you can send photos, videos and music from your mobile device to your home theater.
The RX-V675 includes Apple's AirPlay technology, which lets you stream music wirelessly from your iTunes® library directly to the receiver, either from a networked computer or right from your iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch®. Not only do you get a fast and convenient way to listen to your favorites, but anyone else in your home with an Apple device can share their latest musical finds. AirPlay requires a wireless home network and a wired connection between the receiver and network or a wireless connection using the optional Yamaha Wi-Fi adapter.
Yamaha offers a free, downloadable app for both Apple® and Android™ devices that lets you control this receiver with ease. Just connect your receiver to your home's wireless network, and your iPad®, phone, or tablet becomes the easiest remote to read and the hardest one to lose.
Some of the most advanced features of Yamaha's RXV series receivers are heard rather than seen. For starters, there's Yamaha's auto-speaker calibration system: YPAO. Simply connect the included microphone to your receiver, place it in your favorite listening position and let the system do the rest. YPAO analyzes your room's acoustics and makes adjustments for optimum sound in just a few minutes. It's like having a professional installer calibrate your system. Yamaha also adds Subwoofer Trim Control that enhances low frequencies by reducing overlap with the front speakers. You'll hear a cleaner, more focused soundstage along with seamless bass throughout the room.
Yamaha's special SCENE modes make this receiver a snap to use. Just press one of the four dedicated buttons on the receiver's front panel or remote, and the 'V675 automatically switches to the correct input setting and sound mode for viewing DVD or Blu-ray discs, playing CDs, watching TV, or listening to the radio. Plus, you can individually reprogram each button for different activities of your choice, such as playing video games, listening to your iPod, and more.
Your receiver powers your speakers and lets you connect and select your entertainment sources. But a great receiver does a lot more it ignites your emotions. From the passion of a favorite musical artist, to the crossfire of a super-charged movie soundtrack, to the intensity and immersion of a fast-paced video game, your receiver is the key to experiencing and enjoying it in full.
As with all Crutchfield items, the customer service is superb. I spoke with a rep prior to purchase and their guidance proved invaluable. After purchase, set-up was easy, especially connecting to a wired network. The sound is great and the ability to control the receiver via a smartphone or computer is very useful. Added the Bluetooth receiver to round out the package.
Pros: Great sound, easy set-up, network interface, and the ability to control with iPad/smartphones.
Cons: Initially, the subwoofer would not work due to the subwoofer having a power save feature that shut itself off when there was no signal. A phone call to the Crutchfield tech rep resolved the problem within 5 minutes.
The RX-V675 does everything I wanted it to. It works well with my new smart TV and other components. Still working to insure I have set it up to use all of it's capacities. It definitely is an upgrade from my 80's Sansui.
Pros: It has a wide range of capabilities. Almost more than I need.
Cons: The set up directions could be a lot clearer. It is a pain to have to go to the the CD everytime you have question on set up.
Great equipment thanks again guys
Pros: True dolby 7.1 surround sound Yamaha receiver
Cons: None at this time
I upgraded from an RX-V740 to this this receiver last month and I love it. The main reason I upgraded was because my old received didn't have HDMI inputs. It still works great and I will be selling it at a garage sale soon. You can count on Yamaha products to last a really LONG time.
Pros: The Yamaha AV controller app, the ARC's ability to pass through video and sound to the TV even with the receiver powered off, the standby feature allowing me to remotely power up the the zone I want to listen to and select the desired input like PANDORA all from my smart phone! The intuitive on-screen menu, and it's incredible sound!
Cons: Taking over a year to come down in price. At the time it was released, I couldn't get myself to fork over $750.00 for any receiver. But after owning this for a month I realize now that it was well worth it
Great receiver. The onscreen (TV) display does take a little getting used to - but it makes sense once you play around with the various settings. The hidden gem of this receiver is it's network connectivity. The iPhone and iPad applications are really handy to use as remote controls. There is even a simple web interface too - as in point your web browser at the receiver's IP address and you get control of the device - this has future potential for the full home entertainment experience... Also, the network streaming support is great. I was able to use the http://yradio.vtuner.com/ website to easily add internet radio channels (for instance, BBC Radio 4, music etc) and add podcasts (NPR's Car Talk!). Crutchfield's cable labels, such a simple concept, really helped with me actually labeling the speaker cables, power cables and the like since I was replacing an old Sony receiver with this new receiver. So far, really enjoying the purchase, and the great shopping experience from Crutchfield. Highly recommended.
Pros: Network connectivity - both for remote control (iPhone/iPad/Web) and internet radio/podcasts, ability to configure 'scene' settings (as in select TV, surround mode etc)
Cons: Lacking RDS on the FM radio - though it's not that much of a problem.
Being somewhat audiophile challenged, when I had to replace my home theater receiver, the sales person walked me through my options without pressure and making me feel like an idiot. I was looking for ease of use, and the Yamaha fit the bill. The tech team patiently helped me with the set up and programming, and in less than n hour I was hooked up and enjoying the great sound and ease of use. I've purchased from Crutchfield in the past and definitely will in the future.
I was replacing an old RX-V750 Yamaha from 8 years ago, and let me first point out that Yamaha like so many have really cheapened or lowered quality in a lot of areas to make it through this long economic hardship. They add HDMI ports but take away common sense on menus and in effort to make it "easier to understand for everyone" made it dumbed down and confusing and frustrating to an audiophile. It's like some idiot with an iPod designed it with no knowledge of the needs of a Yamaha user that didn't want to buy the cheap stuff from Walmart. Yes, it's that bad. The sound is lifeless compared to my 8 year old Yamaha....the sound fields are excellent by Yamaha standards but at the end of the day mostly you would want to use 7 CHANNEL SOUND or STANDARD for DOLBY soundtracks, and then the Yamaha sounds still lifeless and like listening to an MP3 file all the time. The restorer left on all the time like most does very little to compensate for substandard components.
Pros: It's pretty.
Cons: The onscreen menus are missing important features and laid out poorly. Amps are not up to old Yamaha quality. For example, my old RX-V750 was more massive and heavy with better parts and more rugged. It sounded better because of better parts and the new stuff is scaled down smaller and lighter. My old RX-V750 weighed almost 30 pounds, this comes in at only 22. You can look inside and see smaller capacitors and heatsinks too....This is the new world order sadly.
So far so good, have had a month now. Only problem was the set up microphone did not work. Luckily I had the one from my old onkyo.
Very good receiver and matches all other review ratings I read.
Great unit so far. I've barely begun to figure out everything this receiver is capable of. Crutchfield customer service was great in that there was a mix up when we thought the previous receiver had zone 2 capability. This receiver blows my old Onkyo receiver out of the water. I upgraded my sub at the same time and my media room is rocking now. I can't say enough about the customer service and the technical assistance that is offered by the Crutchfield team for the lifetime of your product.
Pros: Multiple sub outputs, zone 2 capability, allows me to hook up my second receiver for play of my outdoor pool speakers.
Cons: Haven't found any so far with my use of the receiver.
Have had this unit for nearly a year. It replaced a Onkyo receiver that had only 2 HDMI inputs. I did have it find a reversed connection on one of my speakers. The speaker was mounted on the wall so I reversed the connection at the receiver. This unit runs so much cooler the Onyko it replaces. The setup was easy and the sound is so natural coming from it. This is definitely worth the money.
Pros: It does not get better than this unit for the money..
Cons: No back light on the remote and no printed owners manual.
This was purchased as an upgrade to an older model Denon for a wired in house home theater system. Installation was a breeze and the optional Wireless Adapted to allow utilization of Air Play was a breeze. I would agree with the reviews I read that the lack of a back-light on the remote is a pain, and becoming more of a nuisance each day but the performance is top notch.
Pros: Great Sound Easy Installation iPhone App capability to control
Cons: No back-light on remote
So far, love the sound. Pretty powerful and easy to use.
Pros: Easy set up. Airplay is great. Yamaha app is very convenient. Awesome sound
I was apprehensive about driving my old Infinity's(4 ohm) with this new receiver. I took a chance and I'm glad I did. They've never sounded better. No excessive heat generated from the lower speaker ohms. As for the receiver, it was very easy to set up and customize to my environment. Great on screen configuration guides.
Pros: Sound is amazing, easy to set up and configure and the Yamaha app is fantastic. Simple front panel controls and netwoking, airplay and movie streaming is great.
Cons: Would like to have a back lit remote.
Good sound. Lots of HDMI inputs.
Pros: Good sound. Lots of HDMI.
Cons: Requires not just a TV to set up sound/speakers etc. but a HDMI equip TV. Never mentioned that in discussions with sales staff. Even in IFU states HDMI TV "recommended". Can't connect ethernet, wifi, etc. without HDMI TV. Now it forces my hand to purchase a new TV when my "primary" use was digital music from DVD/CD/BR player.
incredible sound in 7.2 stereo mode ... with 4 klipsch bookshelf speakers,2 polk monitor 70's,2 dayton audio 12 inch subwoofers and a pioneer center channel it just sounds awesome ... jerry garcia never looked and sounded so good
Pros: fantastic sound and picture quality and easy setup with the supplied mic ... more than satisfied !!
Cons: none ..
First off WOW... I replaced an older Onkyo receiver I purchased a few years ago that only had 2 HDMI ports and no standby pass through. Took me longer to get the old amp out and clean up the wiring then it did to set it up. I just wish this came with a paper copy of the owners manual. I have 6ohm speakers so needed to make the change before I hooked anything up and I had to boot up my computer and download the manual first. After that setup was a breeze. It determined one of my speakers was hooked up backwards which surprised me, but it told me exactly which speaker was wrong. Turn off the amp, switch my banana plugs and ran the test again and bam everything is perfect. The ability to rename all the inputs and have them display on the front is really nice. Great sound, and all my devices now can be watched with the Receiver off and only one cable running to my T.V. I like it so much I already pulled out my extra speakers I bought for my rear channel 3 years ago. So after this weekend I will be running full 7.1 Updating the firmware over a wired connection was quick and painless. Now I have complete control over the receiver from my smartphone without line of site, anywhere in my house. So far I couldn't be happier.
Pros: 5 HDMI inputs in rear HDMI pass through while receiver is off Convert all signals to 1080p via the amp - DirecTv is now running 1080p instead of 1080i Great free app for smartphones and devices Tons of sound options Dual Zone Plenty of power
Cons: 2 more HDMI inputs would be great, but I just used an auto splitter - didn't want another Onkyo or Pioneer just for that Remote isn't backlit - not a deal breaker, but most be noted Banana plugs on zone 2 would be nice No paper manual All these are not deal breakers
Pros: ease of setup and controls, speaker capacity, interconnection to multiple components components.... internet radio is amazing...
Easy to set up. Many options for sound dimensions. Wi-Fi is great. I run a Martin Logan wireless sub with this unit with excellent reception. For the price I don't think you can go wrong (except I wish the remote was backlit).
Pros: Quality, Style, Ease of installation, Sound, Wi-Fi
Cons: None really except that remote is not backlit.
I had to replace my older Receiver and the Yamaha was a great choice to replace it with. It was simple to install and sound is great. I'm just now starting to realize what all it does. I have hooked up the wireless adapter and I am now enjoying all the wireless capabilities!
Pros: Look, Sound, easy installment, and it's capabilities!
Cons: Connecting Airplay (but its probably me), zone 2 sound is low ( but it might be in the old wiring?)
Excellent sound. Easy to install. Very good customer service when I called for install information.
Pros: Excellent home theater sound.
Cons: I wish the remote layout was less congested, and was back lit.
Nice clean design easy to hook and use Makes everything a lot nicer
This receiver was a gift for my adult daughter..she has been more than satisfied with its performance
Pros: Works as described...no problems
I've been enjoying my RX-V675 for just about 3 months now and I gotta say my whole family has been really impressed with how flawlessly it performs and sounds! The build quality seems quite good, It provides plenty of options for adjusting the sound, has plenty of good clean power for my whole family to enjoy our favorite Blu ray movies, internet radio and we especially enjoy listening to our I-Tunes using the Air Play feature with the optional Wi-Fi adapter. Set up was a breeze using the included YPAO mic. Navigating through the menu with the remote can take some getting used to, it would be nice if the remote had a back light. We downloaded the free Yamaha App and making adjustments while watching movies is easier with the App. At this price range, your choices of brands and options are pretty competitive. I spent a lot of time researching this and other brands and models So, given what I now know, if I had to make the choice over again, I would not hesitate to buy the RX-V675 again!
Pros: Sound Quality, Built in features, ability for me to grow by adding more speakers or upgrading to the new 4K televisions without having to buy another amp.
just hooked up the receiver today and the consolidation of all the wires was easy and now there are less of those and one remote. Great product.
Pros: son in law was the best asset to connection of all parts.
Cons: couldn't figure out the connections without someone who was more technological aware of how all the parts connected with the receiver.
This unit is great, sounds great and is intuitive for the most part. I have not set up an AV receiver in years. While there are many functions and capabilities in this unit, I had it connected and running in about an hour. It is connected as a 5.1 with inputs from DVD and Linux PC through HDMI. I had an Apple Airport Express laying around. I used that to connect the receiver wirelessly to my network.. The Pandora and Apple Airplay work great.
Pros: Yamaha Quality Great Sound Easy to use

Yamaha's Total Purity Concept: The Yamaha RX-V675 AV Receiver incorporates Yamaha's Total Purity Concept for the finest sound quality. The Total Purity Concept, which Yamaha has been cultivating for many years, encompasses high drive amp technology, high purity pre-amplification, anti-vibration technology, and independent pure power supplies. As a result, this AV receiver can provide high-quality sound for your movie & music soundtracks.
Intelligent Amplifier Assignment: Intelligent Amp Assignment automatically assigns amplifier channels of the Yamaha AV receiver to certain speakers depending on what functions are selected. You can select from a variety of amplifier configurations.
YPAO R.S.C. (Reflect Sound Control): YPAO-R.S.C. analyzes room acoustics and measures various speaker characteristics, then calibrates audio parameters to achieve optimum sound. It employs Reflected Sound Control to correct early reflections for studio-quality sound. It also provides DSP Effect Normalization, which varies the CINEMA DSP parameters according to the reflected sounds. Yamaha's YPAO-R.S.C. system uses a small microphone and sophisticated equalization to automatically set the best sound for any room, no matter where the speakers are. First it checks the speaker connections and phase of each speaker. Then it sends out tones which are captured by the microphone to analyze the room acoustics and sets a variety of parameters; such as the speaker size, the distance of the speakers, and even the volume level; until it achieves the best sound conditions for your room. Using the supplied Optimizer Microphone, YPAO performs the following checks and makes appropriate adjustments to give you the best possible sound from your system:
Note: You can also choose to manually adjust the AV receiver's speaker settings.
Multi-Channel Decoding Formats: The Yamaha RX-V675 supports the following multi-channel (Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic) decoding formats.
Note: Dolby Digital and DTS listening modes can only be selected if your audio source is connected to the A/V receiver via a digital audio connection (HDMI, optical, or coaxial). To enjoy true 7.1ch Dolby Digital TrueHD and DTS-HD surround sound, the receiver must be connected to your Blu-ray player via HDMI.
Surround Parameters: The Yamaha AV receiver offers the following Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS NEO:6 audio adjustments.
Cinema DSP Soundfields: Conventional multichannel audio reproduction systems base their sound on Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, using matrix and steering technologies to create surround sound effects. Yamaha Cinema DSP is much more advanced, actually creating richly realized independent soundfields that envelop you in an unmatched surround sound experience. With dialogue, music and effects ideally located in these separate soundfields, you will hear sound with accurate placement, smooth movement, exceptional clarity and richness, and realistic presence. It will seem as if the walls of your room have disappeared and you are in the middle of your own immense theater. The AV receiver offers 17 Cinema DSP programs for movies, music, and games.
Note: You can change the receiver's Cinema DSP effect level (level of the soundfield effect to be added). You can adjust the level of the soundfield effect from -6 dB to +3 dB.
Cinema DSP Modes: The Yamaha RX-V675 AV receiver offers proprietary Yamaha Cinema modes so you can enjoy your movies and music even more in your home; regardless if you are using Presence Speakers, only have a two-channel speaker system, or listening through headphones.
HiFi Sound Modes: The Yamaha RX-V675 offers two HiFi audio modes which bypass the receiver's tone & DSP processing for higher sound quality performance. These HiFi sound modes lets you play back input sources without any soundfield effect processing. When either of theses modes are enabled, each speaker produces its own channel audio signal (without soundfield processing). When playing back 2-channle sources, such as a CD player, stereo sound is heard from the front speakers. When playing back multichannel sources, the receiver produces unprocessed multichannel surround sound.
Compressed Music Enhancer: Yamaha employs sophisticated digital signal processing with exclusive algorithms to enable playback that improves the performance of compressed music formats, including MP3, WMA, and AAC. With the Compressed Music Enhancer, highs and especially lows are richer and smoother, bringing music back to life to be as close to the original as possible.
Dialogue Lift & Level Adjustment: Dialogue Lift raises the sound of dialogue from the center speaker to a position in the center of the screen. Newly developed virtual dialogue lift achieves dialogue lift function even without the need for presence speakers. Dialogue Level Adjustment lets you control the volume of the vocal sound, so you hear movie dialogue and music vocals at the ideal level for clear, comfortable listening.
Dynamic Range Control: The Yamaha RX-V675 employs two Dynamic Range Control functions.
Bass Management: The Yamaha RX-V675 AV receiver provides the following Bass Management settings.
Volume Setup: The Yamaha RX-V675 allows you to customize the receiver's volume levels.
Audio Inputs/Outputs: The Yamaha RX-V675 offers a variety of analog and digital audio inputs/outputs.
HDMI (v.1.4): The Yamaha RXV675 AV receiver is fitted with 6 HDMI (v.1.4) inputs and 1 HDMI (v.1.4) outputs to deliver crystal-clear, all-digital audio and video signals. The HDMI 1.4 jacks support 1080p and 4K video signals; as well as 3D video and ARC functionality. Deep Color (30/36 bit), x.v.Color, and auto Lip-Sync compensation is also supported via HDMI. The AV receiver's HDMI jacks support 2-channel and multi-channel linear PCM (up to 8-channel) and Bitstream (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc) digital audio formats.
MHL-Compatible HDMI Port: One of the receiver's six HDMI inputs is on the front-panel and MHL compatible. This MHL compatible HDMI port provides easy, direct connection of MHL compatible smartphones. Playback of up to 1080p video and multi-channel audio from the phone is supported. The receiver will also charge your connected phone. Play, Stop, and other basic operations can be controlled from the AV receiver's remote control.
HDMI Standby Through Mode: When the RX-V675 is in standby mode (power off), the Standby Through feature allows HDMI source signals to pass through the receiver to the TV. The HDMI input can be changed using the remote control. So, there's not need to turn on the A/V receiver in order to switch HDMI sources.
Analog Video: The RX-V675 AV receiver offers both composite and component analog video jacks.
4K Video Upscaling: The Yamaha RX-V675 is capable of outstanding upscaling and i/p conversion quality. This AV Receiver will upscale video signals from analog (480i/480p only)-to-HDMI and HDMI-to-HDMI, up to 4K. This means a much better picture with HDTVs capable of 720p, 1080i, 1080p, or 4K resolution.
Edge Adaptive Deinterlacing: In ordinary deinterlacing, pixels in areas of movement are interpolated by upper and lower ranges. This causes jaggies in diagonal lines. Edge adaptive deinterlacing detects the direction of the line and interpolates the pixels optimally.
Background Video: The Background Video feature allows you to watch a video source while listening to a different audio source. With the RX-V675, you can select any video input, and listen to AM/FM radio or select songs from a USB device at the same time.
Ethernet LAN Port (optional WiFi): The Yamaha AV receiver is fitted with a RJ-45 Ethernet (LAN) port to connect the receiver to your home network to access your DLNA music server, or Internet Radio. There is also a rear-panel USB type-A port (5V/0.5A) that allows you to connect Yamaha's YWA-10 wireless network adapter (022YWA10, sold separately) for a wireless network connection.
DLNA 1.5/Windows 7 Certified: The RX-V675 is DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) 1.5 and Windows 7 compliant for audio networking. This means it's easier for you to access and enjoy digital music stored on your PC. You can use your PC to play high-bit rate music content through your audio system, or use the RX-V675 to browse and play music files on your hard drive. You can control playback of your streamed audio files from the AV receiver's remote control. The receiver also supports ID3-Tag and META tag information so song title, artist name, and album name can be displayed from the unit's on-screen menu (via HDMI). The Yamaha receive supports the playback of the following music files.
Note: The AV receiver supports the following music servers - (1) PC with Windows Media Player 11 or later installed, (2) PC with DLNA/UPnP Certificate server software installed, (3) NAS with DLNA/UPnP certification.
Internet Radio: The Yamaha RX-V675's network connection provides access to Pandora and vTuner Internet Radio. You can control the Internet Radio services from the AV receiver's remote control and on-screen menu (via HDMI). The receiver will display station name, album name, song title, and elapsed time on your HDMI-connected television.
|Pandora||Pandora is free, personalized radio that plays music and comedy you'll love. Just start with the name of one of your favorite artists, songs, comedians or composers and Pandora will create a custom station that plays similar tracks. You can also rate (thumbs up/thumbs down) songs as they play, and Pandora will adapt stations to your feedback. You can even bookmark up to 100 stations and easily switch between favorites.|
|Rhapsody||Rhapsody is a streaming music subscription service (starting a $10 per month) that allows you to play the full-length songs you choose on demand from a collection of over 10 million songs, without ads and without having to purchase or download the music.|

This can be done manually or automatically (auto-preset tuning). You can set this receiver to automatically match FM broadcast frequencies in stereo, or convert the frequency to monaural for weaker stations. An indoor FM wire antenna and AM loop antenna are included with the receiver.

You'll be able to control functions such as, Power On/Off & Volume. Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x, 9.x is recommended for web browser.

USB Port: This AV receiver is equipped with a front-panel USB (type-A) port that allows you to enjoy MP3 (up to 48kHz/320kbps), WMA (up to 48kHz/320kbps), AAC (up to 48kHz/320kbps), WAV (up to 192kHz/24-bit), and FLAC (up to 192kHz/24-bit) music files from a USB mass storage class memory device; such as your Android smartphone, portable MP3 player or USB thumbdrive (not compatible with USB HDDs). Your USB mass storage class device must be formatted in FAT 16 or FAT32 . You can use the receiver's on-screen menu (via HDMI) and remote control to navigate your stored music files on your connected USB memory device. USB portable audio players that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the AV receiver's USB port (5V/2.1A); even in standby mode.
Note: While listening to a song from a USB device, you can view a favorite video or photo from the receiver's monitor output.
AirPlay: This AV receiver supports AirPlay, which means it can accept wireless music streaming from your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad; as well as from iTunes on Macs or PCs. This makes it easy to enjoy your iTunes music from your mobile Apple iOS device or computer on your home theater system. You can even view metadata such as song title, artist name, as well as album art via AV receiver's on-screen display. In addition, you can download Apple's free "Remote" application and use your Apple device as the remote control for your iTunes account.
Note: To use the AirPlay feature you need a Mac or Windows-based PC running iTunes (10.2.2 or later) connected to your wireless home network. Your iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad must have iOS 4.3.3 or later installed and connected to the same wireless home network.

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.
On-Screen (GUI) Menu: The RX-V675 offers an on-screen (GUI) menu system through its HDMI output. The simple on-screen display combines text and graphics that make setup and other operations extremely easy. If your TV is connected to the composite video or component video monitor output, you will need to use the AV receiver's front-panel display when changing settings. You can set the receiver's on-screen menu language to English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, or Chinese.
Scene (for One-Touch Start): The RX-V675 features four Scene buttons on the front panel and remote to make operating the receiver easier. These buttons are initially set to default settings for Blu-ray/DVD viewing, TV viewing, Internet Radio listening, and AM/FM Radio listening. Each can be reprogrammed to any input and any soundfield. Pressing a Scene button will automatically launch a number of operations that initiate play of the source controlled by that button. Other Scene settings are also available, such as iPod Listening, TV Sports Viewing, and Action Game Playing. Browsing and selecting the settings is quickly accomplished by changing Input via the front panel and watching the on-screen display. The settings can be selected for one-time use, or they can replace the original default settings. The Scene names can also be changed.
Zone 2: The Zone 2 feature allows you to set this receiver to reproduce separate input sources in the main zone and the second zone (Zone 2). The receiver has dedicated stereo RCA outputs for Zone 2, or the built-in amplifier can be configured to power speakers in the second zone connected to the Extra Speaker terminals. By using the RCA outputs on the AV receiver you can connect an external receiver or integrated amplifier in a second room, allowing you to listen to 7.1ch surround in the main room and play a different stereo audio source in another room of your home. The volume of Zone 2 is controlled by your optional integrated amp. By using the speaker-level outputs on the AV receiver you can directly connect a secondary pair of speakers in another room of your home, allowing you to listen to 5.1 surround sound in your main room and play a different stereo audio source in the other room. When the receiver is powering speakers in Zone 2, the surround back speakers in the main room are turned off (limiting you to 5.1ch in the main room). The volume of Zone 2 is controlled by the AV receiver
Note: Unfortunately, a USB source (including iPod/iPhone) and Network connected sources (Internet Radio/Media Player) cannot be played back in different Zones at the same time.
Input Rename: You can rename each input so the display reflects the actual source; choose from 15 templates or create an original name, up to nine characters.
Display Dimmer: You can set the brightness of the front-panel display from -4 to 0.
ECO Mode: When the ECO Mode is enabled, you can reduce the receiver' power consumption by keeping the maximum volume, maximum output power, and front display's brightness low. ECO mode reduces power consumption by approximately 20%.
Timers: The receiver offers a programmable Sleep Timer and Auto Power Down function.
Memory Guard: This feature is used to prevent accidental changes to the DSP program parameter values and other system settings.
Multibrand Remote Control: The receiver comes with an IR remote control for wireless operation of this receiver and other HDMI-connected sources (via HDMI CEC). In addition to the receiver, the remote can be programmed to control multiple brands of TVs, Blu-ray players, DVD players/recorders, DVRs, VCRs, etc.
HDMI Control: The Yamaha AV receiver supports the HDMI control function, which allows you to operate external components via HDMI. If your TV or other external components support HDMI control, you can use the remote controls of those devices to operate some of this unit's functions, and to synchronize this unit with the operation of those devices. You can use the following operations with the remote control of any of the connected HDMI Control compatible devices.
AV Controller App: This AV Controller App (free) will turn your iPod touch, iPhone, iPad or Android device into a Wi-Fi enabled remote control for the Yamaha AV receiver. This App provides the flexibility to control input, volume, mute and power commands. You can browse content from all internally available sources such as Internet Radio, USB and AM/FM tuners. You can also control all AV receiver zones such as powering on and changing input for each zone. This App not only controls the Yamaha AV receiver, it also controls Yamaha Blu-ray Disc Players, supporting various functions including Play, Stop and Forward. In addition, you can browse music stored on your Apple iOS or Android device and wirelessly transfer the content to the Yamaha A/V receiver for playback.
Note: You must have a wireless network in your home and the Yamaha AV receiver & Apple or Android device connected to the same network.
Remote Connections: The RX-V675 offers a variety of remote connections.

Yes. Main zone (digital) is used to watch video such as cable or DVD. Zone 2 which can have analog input such as stereo or even Airplay can be used for music. I have an cabana that one can watch TV while sitting inside. I have tow speakers attached to zone 2 on the outside of the cabana facing the pool that is for music. It works well. I prefer not using built-in Airplay I have connected the analog stereo output of an Apple Airport Express to a RCA input for Zone 2. This way any Apple device with Airplay on HomeSharing can control music selection and volume. The Yamaha app also helps. [ Sina Mar 21, 2014 ]
Yes, using the Zone B function but if you're running 5.1 set up for home theater, you lose two of the channels when Zone B is in use. [ BRIAN Mar 20, 2014 ]
no - unless you have both zones in the same room and turn down the volume on zone 1 and up on zone 2. [ Matthew Mar 20, 2014 ]
Sorry, don't know. [ PAUL L Mar 20, 2014 ]
Sorry, I've never tried using both zones simultaneously. [ JERRY J Mar 07, 2014 ]
Delay is about 1/4 second between zone 1 and 2 [ LG in So.Cal Mar 07, 2014 ]
Yes, volume for each zone is controlled independently. [ BRIAN Jan 15, 2014 ]
I have a second set of speakers in my garage. I can listen to net radio in the shop at a different level while my wife listens and watches tv in the den. Just slide the zone switch back and forth to choose the speakers you want to adjust. [ JERRY J Jan 15, 2014 ]
Yes, the 2 zones have separate volume controls, either by switching with the remote or using the Android/iPad app. [ DONALD Jan 15, 2014 ]
Yes. You set the volume for Zone 1 (in your case, your living room), and then switch to Zone 2 (your outdoor speakers) and set both the content and volume for Zone 2. Very easy to use; the remote is quite intuitive, unlike many. [ DAVID Jan 14, 2014 ]
Hi, I have not used this feature. But I found below text from Page 75 of the manual: To adjust the Zone 2 volume, press VOLUME or MUTE (when using internal amplifier). When using an external amplifier, use volume control on it. Hope this helps! [ BALARAMA Jan 14, 2014 ]
If by secondary speakers you mean Zone 2, the answer is yes. Zone 2 has independent volume control and input source. You can control that with the remote, front of receiver or app, [ Sina Jan 14, 2014 ]
Yes, you can turn the volume up or down for zone 2 by using the zone 2 control button [ RICHARD Jan 14, 2014 ]
I don't know the answer but I kind of doubt it given what I know about the system. [ PAUL L Jan 14, 2014 ]
Hi. I don't believe it does. Since it regulates itself perfectly I have never messed with . [ Richard Jan 14, 2014 ]
yes, each zone has a separate volume control. [ Matthew Jan 14, 2014 ]
The receiver is great my experience w cruchfield was very poor [ KEBIN Jan 14, 2014 ]
Hi Charles, I'm not that far along in setting my system. I purchased this receiver to be able to use zone two for outdoor speakers. I think I read in the description that it is digital, but I'm not positive. I do love the receiver, I have it running to polk in ceiling speakers and a Definitive Tec Pro sub 800. The on screen display is nice. I have not had much of a chance to play with it yet but I love it so far. Another reason I choose this model was has built in wi-fi so it will connect to my whole house network. Hope this helps. [ JACK S Dec 14, 2013 ]
Yes they can! [ KEVIN Dec 14, 2013 ]
Hi Charles, I have not tried that. I only have speakers in one room. Lin [ LIN O Dec 14, 2013 ]
Thanks for your question Raj. I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone or chat to discuss the receivers, and which may best suit your needs. [ Jeff Dec 02, 2013 ] Staff
Those speakers should work with this receiver. However, you should connect with an Advisor by phone or chat to be sure that there are no issues. [ Jeff Nov 27, 2013 ] Staff
