Product Research

Features

Add-on Bluetooth Audio Receiver: The Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth Audio Receiver can be used to wirelessly connect your Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices with a 2012-up Yamaha AV receiver. The YBA-11 connects to the digital coaxial audio input on the back of the Yamaha AV receiver and is powered by the rear-panel DC Out/USB type-A port (5V/0.5A) of the receiver, so there is no need to take up an additional electrical outlet.

Yamaha Receiver Compatibility: The Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth Audio Receiver is compatible with 2012-up Yamaha AV receivers that feature a rear-panel digital coaxial audio input and rear-panel DC Out/USB type-A port (5V/0.5A).

Note: The Yamaha YBA-11 can also be used with other audio components that feature a rear-panel digital coaxial audio input, but will require a USB-to-AC power adapter (sold separately).

Bluetooth A2DP: The Yamaha YBA-11 features Bluetooth A2DP which allows you to wirelessly stream audio from your Bluetooth-enabled Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Blackberry, laptop/computer, or other mobile device. You can stream stored music and music apps from your Bluetooth-enabled device. Music navigation and song/artist information will still be handled by your Bluetooth-enable mobile device (not the Yamaha AV receiver).

Simple Pairing: The Yamaha YBA-11 can be paired with your Bluetooth-enabled mobile device with a single press of a button.  Once paired, the YBA-11 will automatically re-connect with your Bluetooth device when in range (up to 33').

aptX CSR Technology: The Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth Audio Receiver incorporates aptX CSR technology for better sound quality. aptX audio coding delivers CD-quality wirelessly over Bluetooth, enabling users to lose the wires without compromising on audio quality. With the aptX audio codec source material is transparently delivered over the Bluetooth wireless link, whether it is stored uncompressed or in an alternative compression (MP3, AAC, FLAC) format. Low audio coding delay minimizes latency and lip-sync issues.

USB Powered: The Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth Audio Receiver is powered by the rear-panel USB type-A port (5V/0.5A) of your 2012-up Yamaha AV receiver; so no additional electrical outlet is needed. Power is supplied to the YBA-11 when the connected Yamaha receiver is powered "On".

Note: Do not connect the included USB power cable to a USB hub.

Q
Please provide details on what's inside, bluetooth module part number, transceiver part number, eeprom part number? There're mostly fake yba 11 on the market. Thanks

A
Thanks for your question. That information would be supplied by the manufacturer. Without taking it apart we wouldn't have the additional information. Crutchfield is an authorized retailer for Yamaha, so you can rest assured this is a brand new stock item directly from Yamaha. Crutchfield also includes a 60 day satisfaction guarantee. Hope this helps.

Q
is this device compatible with my Yamaha YSP-5100 soundbar/amplifier? Thanks
keith  Oct 03, 2016

A
I do not know of any reason that it would not work. It works great with my Yamaha receiver.
randy  Oct 11, 2016
A
If your soundbar/amp has Bluetooth capability then it should work with it. I have the YSP-11 connected to a Yamaha receiver with Bluetooth and it works great
randy  Oct 11, 2016
A
The Yamaha YSP-5100 soundbar system includes a coaxial digital audio input that you can use to connect the Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth adapter. However since your soundbar doesn't have a USB input to power the adapter, you'd also need to use a USB-to-AC power adapter; such as this one we carry from Audioengine: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_772USBP/Audioengine-USB-Power-Adapter.html I hope that helps!

Tough question. Will vary if you have petitions or walls or if it's a straight shot although not direct in sight. I have never tried to operate it from a longer indirect distance.

Mine is located toward the back of my receiver in my wooden TV stand. I connect with my IPad or IPhone and have been all over my house and it stays connected.

A
Yes my son installed and works great
charles  Apr 05, 2016

I've used it one three different receivers. It has worked on all of them. So, I'm sure it probably will work.
jeff  Apr 05, 2016
A
I have no first hand experience with the HTR-3063 but based on its specs it has a digital coax input/output therefore should work with the YBA-11. You have to use a USB power source. Good luck.
stephen  Apr 05, 2016
A
If your reciever has a coaxial input it will work
david  Apr 04, 2016
Q
is it compatible with Yamaha HTR 6130 av receiver?
ashwin  Mar 30, 2016
2 answers
A
What it says on the box is that it requires a coaxial digital input and a USB port for power on your receiver. Check your receiver inputs on the back. Hope that helps.
dale  Apr 04, 2016
A
It should be, if you have an available coaxial audio input. May also require an external 5V, 0.5A power supply, if the HTR 6130 does not have an available USB port for powering.

Q
Would this work to send audio from my Smart TV to a five channel Bose input for rebroadcast ?
james f  Mar 04, 2016
1 answer
A
I am not sure as I purchased the product to allow my amp to receive blue tooth signals which i stream music from my phone. My amp has HDMI in and out so I already send the smart tv signals through my amp to my speaker system. However I needed to add an fiber optic audio link between my TV and amp to allow it to play internet sounds such as Netflics

I connected my YBA-11 to "AV 2" (signal) and "DC OUT" (power) on a Yamaha RX-V475. Input is "AV2."

Q
I purchased the YBA11 Bluetooth wireless audio receiver to go with my Yamaha R-S700 receiver and CD- N500 CD player is it possible to hook this up to either of these components?

A
You should be able to connect it to your Yamaha receiver. I had to get a adapter that plugs into my power strip and changes 110v to 1 or 2 hdmi outlets. the other is RCA that should do it for you.
william b  Jan 17, 2016
A
Yes
trey  Jan 17, 2016
Q
Is this product compatible with a Yamaha RX-V465 AV Receiver? Yamaha seems to think that this product can be used with any receiver that has a coaxial digital input (which mine does). For power they claim that I need either an DC OUT 5V-0.5A input on the receiver (which mine does NOT) or alternatively I will need to use a 5V/0.5A USB power supply that came with my iPhone 5S.
merilyn  Mar 28, 2015

A
You can use it with your receiver if you have a digital coaxial audio input. you just have to put a usb adapter for 5vdc that plugs into household outlet.
angel barrios  Apr 01, 2015
A
The YBA-11 can be used on any device that has coaxial digital input. It does not know or care if it is connected to a Yamaha. I am using it on a DENON. It comes with a USB cable for power from any powered USB jack. I use an old (way before 5S) standard Apple charger cube which that supplies 5V @ 1A.
mark  Mar 31, 2015
A
I can't remember the model number of my Yamaha receiver (bought it in 2008) but I do have it powered by my the Iphone usb plug that came with my IPhone as well. Works fine.
james  Mar 30, 2015
A
I use it with my Yamaha Receiver, off hand I do not have the model # but it is approx. 1-12 years old and has a digital coaxial input, I power with the power supply that was supplied and simply plug into an available outlet like any other Bluetooth device, works with my Iphone 5 and ITunes from my computer. No problems, easy hookup, good sound.
dale m  Mar 30, 2015
A
It comes with everything you need to connect to RX-V475. Both cables, nothing else to buy and nothing you need to supply from your IPhone. Trust me I have the same setup. Hope this helps.

Q
Does this auto power on? i.e. can I leave it in the "on position" and it will power on/off when I turn on my amp?
dan  Oct 01, 2014

A
Yes and no. If you plug the power supply into the switched outlet on your receiver then it will do what you want. Otherwise it will always be on (not really a big deal either)
rockinricker  Oct 01, 2014
A
It doesn't have an on switch. The blue indicator light comes on when it receives a pairing signal and the receiver is powered on.
douglas  Oct 01, 2014
A
It is powered by a USB plug. If your amp has a USB port but goes on and off with the adapter can be powered through it. I powered mine from power module so it is always on. It doesn't use much power.
mark  Oct 01, 2014
A
As long as it's connected to the amp it is powered on even if amp is in standby mode. It gets its power from the amp and does not have a separate AC power cord. Hope this helps

Q
Is this compatible with the Yamaha v463 receiver?
stewart  Aug 21, 2014

Unfortunately it is not compatible, and the adapter that was compatible is no longer made. However, the BTA 10 from Harmon Kardon should work with your receiver: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_532BTA10/Harman-Kardon-BTA-10.html?tp=2051

can I use the yba=11 on a RX-v3777?

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: If you mean the RXV377 then yes you can use the YBA11 and they are compatible. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
I have a Yamaha receiver RX-V361, can I still use this adapter? any othe suggested solution? Thanks in adavance for your advice
arnoldo  Jun 08, 2014

A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Yamaha does not list the YBA-11 Bluetooth Adapter as being compatible with the RX-V361. An alternative would be the Cobra CWA BT 150 (079AIRWAVE) for $39.99. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
why not use the USB port on the front of the Yamaha receiver to play music from your iphone 5s or ipad?
guest  Mar 07, 2014
7 answers
A
Bluetooth allows for wireless connection so you can have your iphone or ipad with you elsewhere in the house and not tethered to the receiver. Some receivers with built in Airplay do the same thing with Apple products.
georgios  Mar 08, 2014
A
my yamaha receiver does not have usb port
angel barrios  Mar 08, 2014
A
You can use the USB through the front of the receiver as an option. However adding the Yamaha YBA-11 lets you play music from across the room, in another room and keep our device with you to control the music and use it at the same time. Works great!
david  Mar 07, 2014
A
Thanks all, for your feedback. I see that the YBA-11 allows you to use your iphone and other gadgets wirelessly. I will consider this option.
guest  Mar 07, 2014

I wanted to use the wireless Bluetooth.
john l  Mar 07, 2014
A
Don't see why not. I use the DVD for mine. Call Yamaha and ask
david  Mar 07, 2014
A
I believe you can, but the YBA-11 lets you play music wirelessly, which is nice.

Q
Can I conect it to a Bose Home theater in Aidio in by RCA?
alejandro  Jan 18, 2014

A
I connected mine to digital coaxial in on my 10 year old Yamaha receiver and it works great. Not familiar with the Bose setup, but if it digital coaxial in you should be all set, plug in it in change to that source and enjoy.
dale m  Jan 21, 2014
A
Only if you have digital coax input, it looks like an RCA but it is a single digital cable not an analog r/l pair
rockinricker  Jan 19, 2014
A
I'm sure it would work fine as long as you have an audio input jack on the back of the Bose. I have it hooked up on the back of my Yamaha receiver and it works just fine. The range is probably around 12 feet max from my own experience
