Features
Product Overview: The YDS-12 iPod dock provides an interface between select iPod and iPhone models with a dock connector and select Yamaha audio-video components and systems. Yamaha components with a universal dock jack are compatible. In most cases, once an iPod is docked in the YDS-12, you can control it using the Yamaha unit's wireless remote control. The iPod's battery is charged when docked. The dock allows you to listen to music through the receiver and view digital photos and video stored on select iPods on your TV (via composite video); text information is also displayed on your TV (via composite video).
Yamaha Component Compatibility: The YDS-12 is compatible with Yamaha receivers having the universal dock jack.
iPod/iPhone Compatibility: This add-on dock is 'Made for iPod' and 'Works with iPhone compliant' and supports the following iPod/iPhone model functions when used with a compatible Yamaha AV receiver (as of 9/26/2013):

- The iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), and iPhone 5/5C/5S will require the Apple Lightning to 30-pin adapter or Lightning to 30-pin cable (both, sold separately) in order to dock with this system.
- Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.
On-Screen Display Remote Control Operation: The YDS-12 offers on-screen display to operate your iPod using the remote control included with your Yamaha receiver. On-screen display information and audio/video signals from your docked iPod are transferred to your compatible Yamaha receiver through the included dock cable, and then to your television via the receiver's monitor output.
Connectors: The YDS-12 Dock has the following connections:
- Top of Unit: iPod dock connector
- Back of Unit: Dock cradle terminal
