Features
DEQ Max:
This unit
is equipped with a DEQ Max digital equalizer that provides you with three
adjustable 5-band equalizers (EQ1, EQ2, and EQ3). The five EQ bands include: Low 1 (20-250 Hz), Low 2 (20-250 Hz),
High 1 (315-20,000 Hz), High 2 (315-20,000 Hz), and High 3 (315-20,000 Hz). The
level of each band can be adjusted from -12 dB to +12 dB.
Sound Presets:
Another
feature of the DEQ Max digital equalizer is the use of Sound Presets for various
music styles. These presets are added to the settings of the active user EQ to
give you optimal sound for each music type. You can select from the following
music style presets: Pop, Rock, Techno, Jazz, Classic, and Speech.
Car Acoustics Presets: To
further improve the sound properties in your vehicle, you can match your vehicle
to one of seven Car Acoustics Presets: Compact, 4Door, Convertible, Van, Roadster,
Mini, and Truck.
X-Bass:
The X-Bass feature can be used to boost the bass at low volume
levels. You can set the X-Bass boost for one of the following frequencies: 32
Hz, 40 Hz, 50 Hz, 63 Hz, or 80 Hz in steps from 0 - 6.
Power-On Volume: You can choose
the volume setting at which the receiver plays when it is turned on. In the
menu, you can choose "Last Volume" and the unit will be set to the same volume
level as when it was last turned off. Or you can choose "On Volume" and choose a
default volume setting between minimum and maximum. Note: If the power-on
volume is set to a high level, you can possibly damage your hearing or your
audio equipment.
Automatic
Sound: This function automatically adjusts the
volume of the unit depending on your driving speed. The automatic volume
adjustment can be set to one of six levels (0-5).
The head unit's Automatic Sound wire needs to be connected to the Vehicle Speed
Sensor (VSS). With the signal from the Vehicle Speed Sensor, this feature can
increase and decrease the volume level of the unit. Assuming the vehicle has a
non-mechanical speedometer, this feature will work.
Tuner:
This receiver
features the Blaupunkt exclusive DigiCeiver Codem D all-digital tuner.
DigiCeiver Technology:
As a result of advanced high-integration strategies, the complete functionality
of a car radio has been reduced to a two-chip set (an analog tuner IC and a
digital radio IC). The digital IC performs the following functions: A/D
conversion at the IF-level (intermediate frequency level), IF filtering, AM/FM
demodulation, stereo and RDS decoding, RDS error correction, tone control (bass,
treble, EQ), D/A conversion at audio frequencies, and volume control. The
digital chip contains additional inputs for analog (AUX input) and digital
sources (CD/CD changer). Compared to conventional Blaupunkt receivers, the
number of components required to perform the functions listed above has been
reduced by 200.
RDS
(Radio Data System):
This unit supports the following
RDS functions:
- PTY
(Program Type):
allows you to scan and select RDS stations based on their program type
-
Radio Text:
this unit displays text info that might be transmitted by RDS stations
Travel Store: You can
automatically store the strongest 6 AM and 6 FM station using the Travel Store
function. These presets are stored in bands FMT and AMT.
SHARX
Adaptive IF Switching: When turned on, the
SHARX feature changes the IF (intermediate frequency) bandwidth to eliminate
most, if not all, interference caused by strong adjacent radio stations. The
SHARX feature may be turned on or off.
HiCut
Function: The HiCut function improves the sound
during poor radio reception by automatically reducing the treble level to one of
three available levels: HiCut 0 (no treble reduction), HiCut 1 (minor treble
reduction), or HiCut 2 (maximum treble reduction).
Adjustable Scan Tuning: The
scan feature briefly plays all the receivable stations. You can set the scanning
time between 5 and 30 seconds.
Note: When the radio
scan time is changed, it also resets the CD intro scan time for the
in-dash player and the connected CD changer.
MP3 Playback:
The
Casablanca MP54 can play MP3 files recorded onto CD-Rs and CD-RWs. The format of
the CD-R or CD-RW must be ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2 or Joliet. Each disc can have
a maximum of 253 directories and 65,535 files.
Disc Naming:
This feature allows you to name up to 30 discs. Each name
can be up to 8 characters in length.
Auxiliary
Input Capable: You can
add up to two auxiliary input sources, such as a portable MiniDisc/DVD/MP3
player or a navigation system. You can connect the first external source (AUX 1)
instead of a CD changer. You can connect the second external source (AUX 2) in
addition to a CD changer or AUX 1 source. The external audio sources will
require an adapter cable (023AUXIN1R for AUX 1 and 023AUXIN2 for AUX 2).
Compatible with Optional
Remotes: This unit is compatible with the following optional remotes:
RC 08 and RC 10.
Dimmer:
This unit is equipped with a wire that Blaupunkt calls an illumination lead,
however, it acts as a dimmer lead. When the vehicle's headlights are turned on,
the display dims to a user adjustable level. It must be connected to the
vehicle's dimmer circuit.
Changer Controls
Compatibility: This head unit can
directly control the following Blaupunkt changers: CDC A 03, CDC A 08, and IDC A
09. In addition, the unit can control the MDP-01 MP3 Microdrive player.
Disc Naming: When used with a
compatible CD changer, this feature allows you to name up
to 30 discs. Each name can be up to 8 characters in length.
