Blaupunkt power for your speakers

Blaupunkt's EMA 255 2-channel amplifier will power a pair of your car speakers with 55 watts RMS each — plenty enough to give you the extra clarity and impact you want for your music. A selectable high-pass filter lets you clean up the sound even more, by removing the extreme low rumble from your full-range speakers — very handy if you're using a subwoofer.

Bridged to mono mode, the EMA 255 can drive a subwoofer with up to 165 watts. A variable low-pass filter gives you extra control over your sub, and a bass boost lets you bump up your punch a couple of notches when you need it.

A heavy aluminum heatsink helps keep this compact amp running cool and reliably. Speaker-level inputs let you connect it to a factory radio with no RCA outputs, so you won't need a line output converter or other device in order to play music.

My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this to replace an old 2x30 watt Blaupunkt that was about 20 years old. I see the same quality in this amp as was in the old one. It seems very well assembled and solid. It didn't take long to install it where the old amp was. The power connectors were different, but considering the higher output, that was expected. Adjustments only took a few minutes and I was good-to-go! I would recommend this amplifier.

Pros: Easy to connect, easy to set-up, super easy to listen to.

Cons: A setting for the High-Pass filter would be nice.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far it works great. Easy to connect with powerful good distortion free sound. I'm using it in a boat so time will tell if it holds up under those tough conditions.
