Blaupunkt's EMA 455 4-channel amplifier will power your front and rear car speakers with 55 watts RMS each — plenty enough to give you the extra clarity and impact you want for your music. Selectable high-pass filters let you clean up the sound even more, by removing the extreme low rumble from your full-range speakers, great if you're using a subwoofer.
Bridged to 2-channel mode, the EMA 455 can run two high-performance speakers or subwoofers with up to 165 watts each. Variable low-pass filters give you extra control over your sub, and a bass boost lets you bump up your punch a couple of notches when you need it.
A heavy aluminum heatsink helps keep this compact amp running cool and reliably. Speaker-level inputs let you connect it to a factory radio with no RCA outputs, so you won't need a line output converter or other device in order to play music.

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.
I installed this in my Yukon to replace the factory amp which had gone bad. I put my back two door speakers which are 61/2" kenwoods to 2 channels and bridged the other 2 channels to run a Rockford fosgate 8" 4ohm sub. The clarity and sound is very clear. Im very happy with my purchase..
Pros: Distortion level is very low, Amp has adjustments to dial things in..
A great upgrade.
I replaced the OEM amp in my FR-S with this to get more volume out of the door speakers, and later to add a sub. Even just replacing the door speaker amp was a significant improvement. More interface options (variable high-pass, and phase select) would be kind of nice, but keeping the input chain simple is the way to go since most modern head units have time delay.
Pros: -Clean sound -Simple setup (if you already have sufficient amp wiring)
I installed this unit to be able to push new speakers that I had installed in my car (2015 Kia Soul), I liked that the footprint of the unit was not too big. The unit had more than enough power to push the new speakers. The sound in the car now is well balanced, before the Sub was overwhelming the rest of the speakers because they did not put out enough sound.
Pros: Easy to install and the footprint was not too large, plenty of power. I liked that the unit supported four different speaker configurations.
I installed this amp in my 2001 Porsche Boxster in place of the Haes 4x40. Huge improvement in the clarity of sound and I now have the ability to set the crossover if I want to. I had to make an adapter from the factory quick connector to transition to the RCA and lug terminals, but that was not too difficult. I wanted the ability to go back in case this unit did not provide the desired sound. No worries there -- I will not be going back. I also installed the Blaupunkt Toronto head unit and replaced the door and dash speakers with Hertz. Now it sounds like it should, top up or down!
Pros: Clean sound, flexibility of connections and crossover points, good power, looks good in the trunk.
Cons: None noted.
Great product and easy to set up
Pros: Plenty of power

2 ohms, but 4 ohms in bridged mode [ Jeffrey Aug 22, 2015 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: You can run that amp in a 3 channel mode. The front speakers would get 55 watts RMS power each. The back 2 channels could be bridged together and provide 165 watts RMS power for a subwoofer. It is also important to note that the when bridged the subwoofer channel would only be stable at a 4 ohm resistance.
