Should have bought a better amp

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Yes this is an ok amp for under 100 bucks. However, if you want something that is going to last longer than a year than you need to spend the extra bucks and get a better brand. Or you could just keep buying cheapies?

Pros: Cheap price! That's it!

Cons: Cheaply built! Constantly overheats even with fans blowing directly on it and gain set to halfway. Measured sub impedance and it is 4.02 ohms. Checked voltage drop across power cables and remote line and voltage drop is less than .1V. This amp just gives out under use!

Big Bang for my Buck!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have this Amp installed in my 91 Ford Escort Pony, i have it running two Rockford Fosgate P1572 5x7 full range speakers. very simple to hook up even with out the instructions (mine did not come with any paperwork , it was bought brand new from this site) for what you pay it feels just right and dose a tremendous job putting out the power and quality of sound to make any speakers sound incredible.fits under the seat and even has enough room to be out of the way if you have a passenger in the back seat. i have been using this device for abut two months now and have had no problems with it.

Pros: Great power, Dials right in for perfect sound out of my speakers, small

Cons: Did not come with instructions, but who needs them it was simple to set up.

Great amp

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

  • Ease of Use
  • Sound Quality
  • Value

I have this amp in my 1991 Subaru, powering two 6.5" and two 5-1/4" speakers in parallel. Sound is clear and gets painfully loud without distortion. It's too big to fit properly under my seat and feels cheaply made, but it works very well and is easy to set up. The manual that comes with it is a bit useless, but there's plenty of information on Crutchfield's research section if you need help.

Pros: Inexpensive, stays cool, powers all 4 of my speakers, sounds great, all of the controls I need

Cons: feels cheap, sort of big, useless instruction manual
