Get your soundstage back

Blaupunkt's GTx 462 DE 4”x6" speakers offer the sonic clarity you want for your music at a budget-friendly price. They're a great option when you want to replace factory speakers that have lost their "stage presence."

The GTx 462 DE speakers use injected polypropylene (IPP) woofers for lively midrange and low-frequency response. Their 2-way speaker design also includes 1" Mylar dome tweeters which deliver all the details and ambience in your music. The speakers' low profile enables you to install them behind the factory grilles in many vehicles, but they also include stylish protective grilles for custom installations.

Great factory upgrade

Great Product/Some Modification Required*

1982 BMW 320I
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First and foremost, this product is top notch. That said, it did take some slight modification to install using the OEM speaker grilles due to the height of the center speaker cones. And, while new grilles were provided, they detracted from the vintage look of the vehicle (82 BMW 320i). Sound and range quality were/are as expected from Blaupunkt. I would definitely recommended them/buy them again.

Pros: Good overall quality and sound at an attractive price. Crutchfield ordering/delivery/customer service was/is first rate.

Cons: Center cone height prevented installation using the vehicles OEM spreaker grilles without slight modifications.

Good choice for 944 owners

1987 Porsche 944
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are a good replacement for the original Blaupunkt door speakers in my '87 944. I am still in the break-in period, but so far the highs and mids are pretty clear. The bass is decent for this size of speaker (4x6), but don't expect thunder. For the Porsche purists out there, this is as close as you're going to get to OEM. The only modification I did to my installation was to add a small washer to each screw between the OEM grilles and new speakers. This spaced the grilles out very slightly so as to keep them from buzzing. I reused the original thick plastic spacers between the plastic door membrane and the speakers. They were necessary for window regulator clearance. Overall quality sound and very easy installation.

Pros: Good fit and sound.

Cons: None

1980 Porsche 924 Turbo
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed to buy speakers for a 1980 924 Turbo Porsche. I had very little hope that I'd be able to find the correct size of speakers, let alone the correct brand. Crutchfield was able to give me the correct size and brand and even had the speakers for optional car models. Considering the fact that the car is 36 years old, i could not believe it. Additionally, the speakers arrived lightening fast and with everything I needed for installation.

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Impressive sound from small speakers

1987 Porsche 944
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Perfect fit replacement for rear the speakers of my 1987 Porsche 944. I also use them as my front speakers (mounted in the doors). For these, I cut some 1/4" thick foam (from any hobby store) with an exacto-knife/razor and installed it betwen each speaker and the sheet metal speaker mount in each door (to increase space between the speaker magnets and window guides). Regarding their performance, I am constantly amazed by the superb quality of sound delivered by these small units, even at volumes which I would have assumed to be beyond their capability. These deceptively simple-looking speakers (along with my Blaupunkt BT420 receiver) constitute a significant upgrade over the stock Porsche 944 stereo system (or any other aftermarket installation containing inferior components). I do still intend to add a small subwoofer (probably the low-profile Blaupunkt 8" active unit) after which my car's audio system will be complete.

Pros: These speakers are well-constructed (thus probably durable), easy to handle and install, reproduce audio with superior quality, and operate flawlessly at high volumes (without the rattling often observed in cheap speakers). They are also very fairly priced.

Cons: The plastic grilles included with the speakers do not fit snugly against the sheet metal surrounding the rear speaker mounts in my car (1987 Porsche 944). Due to slight warps in the sheet metal and other near-by obstructions, it is doubtful whether any (unmodified) grille can be mounted over these units. Obviously though, the speakers work fine without the grilles. However for installation of these speakers in the front (door-mounted) position, the provided grilles fit just fine.

Great addition

Got these due to space in the Boxster. Custom install made all the difference in the sound system.

Pros: Size, cost,
