They went in without a hitch. Since he's running a Profile Amp & a Rockford-Fosgate Sub, I used a pair of 150 hz bass blockers. The sound is flat & clean. There is some rattle with heavy bass passages, but thats the car's door panels, not the speaker. A dynamat might have been a good idea. My son's solution was cheaper & easier. First of all they did not fit the doors as Crutchfield said, they fit under the door panels fine but did not line up with the present screw holes and were too small so I had to make some adapter brackets just to get them to fit. THE SPEAKER TEMPLATES THAT CAME WITH THE SPEAKERS ARE SMALLER THAN THE ACTUAL SPEAKERS-WORTHLESS..The speakers sound fair but take way too much power to drive. I have to listen at a level of at least 50 (stereo only goes to 62). I have the same Pioneer unit in My Ford Ranger with stock speakers and listen at an 18-20 unless I want to crank it then maybe 30. They are the only two speakers in the car and are in the stock door panel opening (with some modification). Her old speakers were muddy and almost worthless when using Bluetooth. These speakers are clean and crisp. As pointed out by other reviewers, they are weak on the bass side. My wife loves this about them, though she did allow me to add some base for a little fuller sound. Unless you insist on listening to your speakers with the receiver set flat the bass should not be a problem and even a plus if these are used as part of a speaker array that includes a subwoofer and/or independent woofers to compliment them. These are a great bang for the buck. My wife loves them. The speakers hole pattern didn't match any on the adapter plate - I had to drill my own. Also, tabs were much too long to fit into my 03 Durango factory door housings. Chopped them back and they able to work. Sound was 5 out of 5 stars but because of the other issues I had to go with 3 overall. Customer and Technical service I received was outstanding.
