The Blaupunkt iPod connector cable keeps control of your iPod right where you're used to it — on the iPod. Just connect the 50" cable between your iPod and a compatible Blaupunkt receiver — your iPod will charge when it's connected and you'll enjoy the high sound quality of a direct audio connection. The cable doesn't provide receiver control of the iPod — all iPod functions are controlled by the iPod itself. A video connection lets you connect your iPod to a video monitor, for display of pictures or video.

The iPod connector cable works with all 1998-up aftermarket Blaupunkt stereos that can control a Blaupunkt CD changer (not compatible with factory-installed systems). Warranty: 1 year.

Note: Be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this iPod adapter.

Why would I need an iPod® adapter?

An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just got this cord and installed it. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. Went back to find out that it doesn't function with an iPhone or touch?! Really?! Does anyone use anything other than these anymore. It's my fault not doing the research but it was definitely a let down.

Cons: Doesn't work with iPhone or iPod touch

not audiophile quality

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this to connect my iPod Classic to my Blaupunkt MP works....but every track change you get a noise that sounds like the heads on the disc tracking..with a few clicks and buzzes. I had an audiophile grade cable(3.5 mm mini stereo to apple LOD ) to connect my ipod to an external portable amp, an usb/ dac amp....This cable I use to plug directly into the front AUX Jack on my Blaupunkt and it sounds extra noise and clearer sound. The problem might come from the fact that the Blaupunkt cable also charges the in that respect it adds a dc current to wires next to the audio ones...not a really great idea unless its fully shielded. But Im going to use it to charge the ipod if needed, and tuck it out of site.

Sounded like a good idea

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I did not realize that this would not work with an I-touch until my new stereo was installed and I tried to demo my new stereo. Bad luck for me we had to install a new head unit which included a new cable. :( ...

A rather expensive lesson.

Blaupunkt iPod® Connector Cable

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent accessory for a great radio brand. Does all it claims to do. You need to route the cable from behind the unit to reach where ever you are going to place your Ipod. If you are OK with this, then you should love this accessory.

Works fine, but no iPhone support

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The cable works fine with my old iPod -- sound quality seems good (how would I know after having to listen to my factory stereo with a blown out speaker for months before replacing with new equipment? everything sounds great now!)

the minor issue is that the cable will not accept the signal from an iPhone. It charges, but the music only plays out of the phone speakers. As my iPod is dying a slow death, I was hoping not to have to get a new one. I'm going to continue to look for a solution.

Perfect Compliment

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to go with my Melbourne and it does exactly what I hoped it would do. I wanted to control the iPod from the iPod not the receiver and this does just that. I wish the cable was longer so it would reach the back seats and the audio is weaker that the audio on the tuner, but other than that it works on my iPod video and my iPod Nano video so I'm happy.

Great Product

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy to install, and once I realized I had to put my stereo on aux for the CD changer it worked perfectly. I had an FM transmitter before and this is definitely a better option. It works with my nano and ipod touch which I was really happy about. The sound quality is great and being able to charge my ipods in the car is a real plus.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

While it would have been nice to have the iPod controls on your receiver, I find it isn't a problem using the well-designed interface on the iPod itself. I have read reviews on units that do have control, and they seem to have a lot of griping on their responsiveness.

I would have been happy just to use the 1/8" AUX in my receiver (a Blaupunkt). But it's worth it to have this to charge my iPod's battery, freeing up my lighter to run my GPS gizmo, as well as one less adapter floating around my car.

Product Research

Overview: The iPod Aux cable allows audio transmission from select iPods with dock connector to all Blaupunkt aftermarket car radios with the Auxiliary harness input connector. The iPod Aux cable also allows transmission of iPod video signal to external monitors through its composite RCA video connector. Direct iPod control from the iPod still remains possible while the iPod's music volume is conveniently controlled through your Blaupunkt radio. You can still use the iPod click wheel to browse through all of your playlists and menus at real time speed.

Note: This cable does not allow your Blaupunkt radio to control your iPod. This cable is not designed for (OEM) factory installed Blaupunkt radios (connection to a factory Blaupunkt radio could result in damage to your iPod).

Compatibility: The cable is compatible with the following iPod models and functions (as of Dec. 2009):

iPod/iPhone Model Generation Software Version Media Type Control Display Charge

Note: Apple firmware updates may change functionality results. You may need to reset your iPod if you download a newer software version.

Connections: The proprietary dock connector portion of the cable plugs into the iPod's dock connector. The 8-pin harness connector portion of the cable plugs into the back of the Blaupunkt receiver in the Auxiliary port. The cable's composite RCA video connector can be plugged into an external monitor to playback iPod video.

Power Supply: When the receiver is on and the iPod is connected, the iPod is supplied power for playback and to charge the battery.
